Over the years I have feared it, the hisses and cries it utters would haunt my nightmares. I would wake up paralyzed scanning my room for signs of eyes in the dark, of razor claws that could split me open. The very creature I fear most is my RPG namesake. Velociraptor. In my youth I would watch the Jurassic Park films incessantly without fear, the concept of death too abstract for me. Then I stopped watching the films for a while and when I found the films again after a time spent in school, I learned of death and I realized the actions of the dinosaurs weren't fun and exciting, they were terrifying. But the ones I feared the most were the smartest and most determined. T-Rex gave up the chase for the Jeep, Compies weren't threatening so long as you had numbers or kept calm, but raptors? They are determined, fast, deadly, stealthy, and most of all intelligent. I swear the moment Muldoon got ambushed was the literal moment I felt the Raptor was my superior in every way. We might not be here if a giant fireball from space had not ended the time of the Dinosaurs. What would are reptilian contemporaries be like, would they be smarter? Better? These thoughts would come later when I developed my philosophical side along with my writing skills. But today I both respect and fear the raptor for it could well have been our superior even without technology.
"We all go about our daily lives, waiting for the next big thing, the next cool trend, even the smallest bits of info on anything happening, but what we're really waiting for... is for something interesting to happen to us, thats what draws us to the rich and famous... we want to be like them... I don't, I'm fine with who I am... and you should be too" - RT3
