Prologue:

Muunilinst...

The human stumbled backwards, panting heavily as he pressed his back against the frigid wall of the fortress. The hum of green-bladed Lightsaber increased to a hiss, as snowflakes hit the deadly energy blade. The human looked up and saw the cold, yellow, reptilian eyes of his adversary. "What..." he gasped, "what are you?" The towering construct before him, a green and blue Lightsaber in each hand, snarled, "I? I am the future!" Despite the Jedi's feeble attempt to raise his blade, the cyborg thrust forward with his right saber, plunging the blue blade into the shocked human's gut. The tip of the saber stabbed into the wall of the Muuns' fortress, leaving a hole melted in the side.

Pulling out his Lightsaber, the cyborg watched as the Jedi fell forward, deactivated saber rolling from his cold, dead palm. The cyborg casually put his own blades away, before picking up the Jedi's. He stared at the custom-built hilt for a moment, admiring the design of the weapon. Disappointing that only Force-sensitive beings could create them. Putting the weapon in his cloak with the rest of his saber trophies, the cyborg turned to the small squad of B1 Battle Droids that marched up, a yellow-marked one at the lead, who said monotonously, "General Grievous, we have secured the Muuns' trust. Have you dispatched the fugitive?" Grievous nodded. "OOM-6, secure the planet. Make sure the Muuns have no more Jedi hiding on their planet. I want this planet purged of those vermin. Also, have a couple droids dispose of this one." Grievous brushed past OOM-6, even as the droid nodded and delivered the usual, "Roger, roger." He walked down the ice-coated bridge, back to his shuttle. This was quite the fruitful day, the cyborg general thought, touching the hilt of the fallen Jedi's Lightsaber...

Chapter One:

Onboard the Invisible Hand, in orbit around Trandosha, several days later

Hossk looked out the viewport at the Sarsskian Ocean, enjoying the beautiful view. He smiled, looking over at his mate standing beside him, then down at the young hatchling Trandoshans that scampered between his legs, chirping excitedly. He had a strange feeling in his gut suddenly, and looked up again, eyes wide with shock. His mate had disappeared, replaced with a dark, cloaked figure, with a faceless mask, who stared at him, arms crossed. Darth Revan. Hossk bared his fangs, snarling, but then noticed that the cockpit was completely devoid of Trandoshans, and his crew had been replaced with Stormtroopers, rifles aimed at him. He turned back to Revan, then glanced out the window, seeing the viewport fill with water as the shuttle plunged into the ocean below...

"General, wake up!" droned OOM-6's voice through Grievous internal speakers, as his eyes snapped open, the cyborg breathing stertorously. Their was a dull hiss as Grievous' stasis pod (used in place of sleep for him) opened up, and Grievous staggered out. After regaining his composure, he looked down at his metal, clawed hand, flexing it. Their was a look of sadness in his yellow eyes for a split second, before he looked up, walking out the door of his private quarters, grabbing his cloak that hung on the wall next to the door. Grievous walked into a lift on the other side of the corridor outside, putting on his cloak as he rode it upwards...

On the bridge of General Grievous' flagship, the Invisible Hand, the door near the back opened, and Grievous walked in, past two IG-100 MagnaGuards who were guarding the door. The droids, nearly as tall as Grievous himself, were the general's personal bodyguards much of the time, and for good reason. Enemies rarely made it past them. Grievous walked up to OOM-6, who was at the central dias of the bridge, surrounded by droid pilots and consoles. "What is it, commander?" snapped Grievous, irritation evident in his voice, though it was mostly lost on the droid commander, who simply replied, "Our spies have returned with information." The cyborg paused for a moment. "A Jedi, I presume?" OOM-6 nodded. "Yes, general. He was located on a small planet on the outlying regions of the Imperial space." A hologram appeared from one of the consoles, showing a rocky-looking sphere, with several Star Destroyers around it. "As you can see, the Empire has already colonized it, making a military outpost there. The Jedi, a human from what the spies recorded, was hiding on the planet when the Empire arrived, most likely to root him out. Our spies saw him attacking an Imperial scouting force." Grievous narrowed his eyes, reminded of his all-too-recent nightmare. The Empire had made him into what he was now, simply because they couldn't handle the rebellion on Trandosha that he had started. "We will head there immediately," he growled. "I want five Providence-class Destroyers ready to mobilize in ten minutes. We will eliminate the Imperial presence on that planet, and I will kill that Jedi myself. We'll leave no witnesses." "Roger, roger." Grievous walked out of the bridge as OOM-6 relayed the orders to several ships in the fleet that orbited the cyborg's home planet. At least he had something to distract his mind now.

A tan-skinned human sat cross-legged in the dark jungles of the small planet, surrounded only by the sounds of the wildlife. He wore the standard outfit of a Jedi Knight or Master, though it was torn and tattered from years of woodland living. His eyes, previously closed, snapped open, and he looked into the dark, starry sky. "Come, cyborg. I will show you a challenge..."

Chapter 2:

The Star Destroyer Vanquisher, in orbit over an unnamed planet...

Admiral Miltin Takel stood on the bridge of his flagship, the Vanquisher, staring out into the blackness of space, hands clasped behind his back. The man was short and stocky, with messy brown hair and a short mustache. Most who had worked under Takel usually wondered how the unassuming man had made it to the rank of Admiral, until they saw his strategic brilliance. Then they wondered why he wasn't a Grand Admiral yet. Nevertheless, the human was surprised when several contacts appeared on the other side of the planet, apparently of unknown origin, as one of the crew reported. He didn't show this, however, instead barking, "Prepare all turbolasers! If they want a fight, we can give them one!"

Grievous, back on the bridge of the Invisible Hand after the hyperspace jump, watched as the Imperial ships made their way around the planet towards them. "Aggressive. Good..." He turned to OOM-6. "Commander, keep them busy up here, eliminate them if you can. I'll go down on the planet myself, with some of my bodyguards and a contingent of droids." "Roger, roger." Grievous turned, walking out of the bridge and past the two MagnaGuards flanking the door. The droids immediately followed, the door sliding shut behind them.

"Admiral Takel, there's several small craft leaving one of the enemy ships, and they're heading planetside!" said one officer on the bridge. Takel didn't turn to him when he replied. "Ignore them. They will not get to the outpost alive." He had the utmost confidence in the defenses he had erected in and around the military installation on the planet's surface, and for good reason. "All ships, open fire!" The Star Destroyers filled the vacuum in front of them with a large volley of green turbolaser bolts, which closed the distance between them and the TGDA ships swiftly. OOM-6 immediately responded with his own volley, and the two fleets began trading fire, red and green bolts of energy passing each other and slamming into their enemy's shields harmlessly. At least, for now...

A small shuttlecraft, containing Grievous and his bodyguards, and a Multi Utility Transport (MUT) descended into the atmosphere of the Imperial-held planet swiftly, passing over barren fields and the occasional grove of trees, as they made their way towards the Imperial base situated on the planet. If there was any place where the jedi would be close to, it was there. After reaching a few thousand kilometers from the structure, which looked like a walled fortress from a distance, Grievous' shuttle picked up the contacts of several TIE Fighters, apparently patrols. Grievous cursed his mistake to check for them before blindly barging in, then immediately ordered evasive maneuvers. He didn't worry about the MUT. Despite its sluggish speed, the bulky craft could easily shrug off TIE blaster fire. The TIEs instead focused on the smaller shuttle, as it jinked left and right, nimbly dodging the green bolts of lethal energy. Grievous spotted a clearing in one of the groves of trees, and immediately barked, "Take us down!" The shuttle and MUT banked downwards, the TIEs screaming overhead. Knowing they would be coming in for another pass, Grievous anxiously waited until the two craft had touched down, before marching down the ramp that descended from the back of the shuttle, followed closely by his bodyguards. A column of B1 battle droids and B2 Super Battle Droids marched out of the MUT, though they soon broke into loose groups upon Grievous' orders. He didn't want his entire troupe eliminated in one attack by the TIEs, who came soaring overhead once again, sending a few potshots down at the droids. They couldn't target the infantry very effectively however, thanks to the surrounding trees, and the MUTs bulk shielded the shuttle easily. Deciding to leave them there, Grievous ordered his troops to continue on towards the base. This time, however, he kept behind a guard of a few droids to protect the two craft. As Grievous headed into the surrounding forest, he felt as if he was being watched, but only saw foliage around him. Narrowing his eyes, he growled something under his breath, before continuing.

A figure perched in the trees above Grievous, as he walked by underneath, smirked. Perfect...

Chapter 3:

The forest of an unnamed, Imperial-held planet...

Grievous and his squad of droid troops continued their trek through the forest towards the Imperial base, the B1s struggling to keep up with their General and his bodyguards, though the B2s had no problem navigating the undergrowth. Grievous suddenly stopped, and a B1 bumped into him with a clank. Angrily, the cyborg hissed, "Quiet!" He nodded towards a bush, where a quiet snap was heard. "3A3, check that area." "Roger, roger." The B1 that had bumped into Grievous moved cautiously towards the bush, a couple more droids behind him. They all raised their weapons at the bush, leaning forward, curiously. A split second later, the foliage erupted outward, sending the B1s, now in pieces, flying everywhere...

OOM-6 was leading his ships against the Imperials without any real finesse, as it was mostly a simple, straight shoot-out. However, the Imperial's commander was holding his own quite well, as the droid observed. They had taken out one of his ships, but he had taken out three of theirs. he was extremely adept at outmaneuvering them, despite OOM-6's efforts. Realizing that numbers was their only real advantage at the time, the droid commander sent a message to Grievous, who replied instantly, telling him to call for reinforcements. It wouldn't take too long for them to get here, but OOM-6 hoped that they would actually arrive to bolster the fleet, not just replace them...

"The Jedi!" Grievous pulled out two Lightsabers, and his bodyguards activated their Electrostaffs, while the rest of the droids raised their weapons at the lone figure standing there. The human was dressed in an worn out Jedi robe and outfit, with a scruffy beard, though he had obviously kept it in check. The man's long brown hair hung in tangled strands around his head, his piercing blue eyes boring into Grievous'. "You are not welcome here, cyborg," the Jedi growled. Grievous narrowed his eyes, surprised that, for once, someone had not mistaken him for a droid. "I'm only here on a visit, Jedi scum. And there are only two things I want. Your life, and your Lightsaber." The Jedi smirked. "Come and get me, then. Rud Badur cannot be defeated by petty fools such as you and the Empire." He turned and sprinted into the forest, heading in the same direction Grievous was going. The droids opened fire, shredding the plants with a hail of blasterfire, and they didn't let up until Grievous put away his sabers and raised a hand. "He's heading for the structure, and most likely not out of coincidence. OOM-233, take your squad and follow. I will take the rest of the troops and flank the structure. If I cannot kill the Jedi myself, the elimination of the Imperial presence on this planet will be my consolation prize." A Super Battle Droid, a yellow circle on its left shoulder and its entire left arm formed into a cannon, dipped its upper torso forward in a nod, then replied in a deep voice, "Roger, roger." OOM-233 plodded down the path Badur had taken, a squad of B1s following. Grievous barked, "The rest of you, come with me!" He went off in a different direction, snarling, "Your blade will soon be mine, Jedi..."

Chapter 4:

Outside an Imperial base on an unnamed planet...

It didn't take long for Grievous to find his way out of the forest and out onto the wide expanse of barren, rocky plain, which extended all the way to a tall, durasteel wall. Just behind the wall was a series of towers, spaced at regular intervals along the wall. Farther still, towering over everything, was a massive, pyramid-like structure, with a small sphere at the top. The wall was being patrolled by white-armored Stormtroopers, and the towers were filled with snipers. Grievous narrowed his eyes, assessing the situation...

Badur Force-sprinted out of the forest and across the plain, crossing the distance in seconds. Ahead of him was the military installation, with a small gate in the wall, apparently a side entrance. OOM-233 and his droids had just made their way out of the trees when they saw him. One of the B1s piped up, "Sir, there his is! The Jedi is escaping!" OOM-233 lifted his cannon arm and pointed it at Badur. "Not likely." He fired, and a single missile streaked towards the Jedi. As the projectile streaked towards him, Badur suddenly leaped straight upward, as the missile passed underneath and exploded, blowing the small gate to pieces. The Stormtroopers on that section of wall looked down, then up as the Jedi flew past them, landing behind them on the wall. They turned to fire, but Badur simply Force Pushed them off the wall, sending them screaming to the ground below. The B1 said after a pause, "Um, sir... you miss--" He was cut off as OOM-233 slammed his right arm into the droid's head, knocking it clean off. "Move up. Kill the Jedi." The B1s moved forward, marching towards the fortress, as Stormtroopers began heading towards that area of the wall to intercept the Jedi's intrusion, completely unaware of the approaching droids...

Grievosu watched as the Stormtroopers patrolling the wall turned away and ran off, apparently distracted. He barked, "Snipers, move up! Take out the ones in the towers!" Several B1s, painted in camouflage, moved towards the edge of the treeline, aiming their long-barreled E-5 sniper rifles up at the towers, where the Scout troopers still stayed, though they seemed to be looking around warily. Suddenly, the droids saw through their scopes that a gold Lightsaber blade had appeared in one of the towers, slicing away at the shocked scout troopers. As the droids looked at each other in confusion, Grievous snorted and grabbed a rifle from one of them. He aimed it at the other towers, letting the Jedi take care of the rest of them for him. Several shots, and one tower was cleared of snipers. Grievous saw Badur leap over to the remaining tower and begin cutting down the troopers there, even as they had turned to fire on him. As much as he wanted to kill the Jedi now, Grievous knew it would be too difficult, and it was a better idea to just get inside and take care of him personally. Handing the E-5 back to its owner, he walked forward, followed by the rest of his droids. "Let's take care of these vermin..." he snarled.

OOM-233 moved into the base with the rest of his droids and they immediately opened fire on the surprised Stormtroopers that had gathered. A missile, followed by a hail of blasterfire, cleared out many of the shocked soldier in seconds, despite the droids' rather poor targeting abilities. They marched through the courtyard, passing empty towers, apparently cleared when the Jedi attacked, and were about to head farther into the base when OOM-233 received a message from Grievous. he turned to the B1s. "Follow me. We are to rendevous with General Grievous and find the Jedi there." He turned to go with his troops, when he saw Badur in the distance, as he leaped down from another cleared tower to face them. He narrowed his eyes, as if daring them to attack, which they did. "Open fire!" said OOM-233, as the B2 lifted his arm cannon to fire. However, before he had a chance, Badur pushed his palm outward, sending a visible blue Force shockwave rippling through the air and scattering the droids, turning the B1s into scrap and knocking OOM-233 on his back, his cannon arm torn off. Badur smirked in satisfaction, walking away. He had his own trap to lay for this new enemy. However, as the Jedi walked away, he was unaware of OOM-233's right arm twitching slightly...

Grievous looked around the courtyard. There had been no resistance, and all the dead Stormtroopers had been evidently killed primarily by Lightsaber slashes. Needless to say, he was wary. "Fan out and cover the area. I don't want any surprises..." The droids did as they were told, fanning out across the courtyard to find their quarry. One of the droids saw movement near a series of crates, and walked over to investigate, only to have a blaster rifle crash into its skull, knocking the inert droid over. The rest of the droids looked over, and saw a large line of barricades, crates, and other forms of cover, from which dozens of Stormtroopers appeared. One, in blue-marked commander armor, yelled, "Open fire!"

Takel had gotten reports streaming in of the attacking Jedi, and an assault by the mysterious droid forces down below. Frustrated, he began sending his own orders telling the commander down below to start setting up traps for the droids. He had already learned that they weren't good at handling unpredictable situations in space, and he doubted it was different planetside...

In what seemed like seconds, a huge firefight had broken out between the Imperial and droid forces. Despite the relative incompetence of the B1s and the poor intelligence of the B2s, Grievous managed to keep them in line through commands from the earlike antennae on the side of his head. Even so, he had a feeling this was more trouble than it was worth. Soon, though the Stormtroopers had pulled back, even after the droids' numbers had been reduced by a quarter. He found this unusual, but it didn't take the cyborg long to realize they were planning another trap, relying on the ineptitude of his droids. He chuckled. "Well then, let's show you just how inept we are, Imperial slime..."

Chapter 5:

Imperial base, unnamed planet...

A small barracks building was the regroup point for the squad of Stormtroopers, who had hastily set up more barricades there. The commander was quite smug with how this was going. He knew the droids would come marching directly after them, and straight into their line of fire. Even as he thought this, he spotted the approaching droids through his macrobinoculars. He couldn't help but chuckle as he ordered his troops to prepare to fire, but then he heard a strange, oddly familiar noise, mixed with something different. There was a high-pitched buzzing, and he managed to discern the low hum of something else behind it. The hum of... a Lightsaber? The commander looked up, his gut twisting as he spotted Grievous and his two bodyguards, weapons activated, standing on the roof of the barracks building, and looking straight down at him. A flanking maneuver...

The droids heard the distant shouts and the sound of blasterfire, followed by four smokey streaks--the MagnaGuards' back-mounted missile launchers--slam into the ground where the ambush had been set up, creating a massive smoke cloud. As they neared, they could hear the sounds of Lightsaber and Electrostaff slashes, followed by screams of fear. By the time the cloud of dust cleared, all that was left of the Stormtrooper squad was a few of the soldiers fleeing into the distance, with Grievous and his bodyguards watching amongst the dead bodies and dismembered limbs of the former squad, the commander's remains among them. Grievous chuckled. "Who's the incompetent one now?" His gloating was interrupted by a message from OOM-6. He was left with both his ship, and the enemy's flagship. Grievous replied, giving him an idea, particularly involving the reinforcements he had sent to assist...

OOM-6 watched his sensors carefully, but he couldn't see the Vanquisher. Most likely hiding on the other side of the planet, as Grievous had said. He moved his ship closer to the planet, inching ever closer to where Takel had most likely set up an ambush...

Takel watched with satisfaction as the Invisible Hand appeared on his sensors, moving straight for them He had been so confident in his plan he had actually deactivated his ship's shields, mainly to make sure OOM-6 didn't detect him, and also to show off the fact that he would easily take acre of the enemy craft before it even got off a shot. He was about to give to order to attack, when an officer fearfully reported another contact... right next to them. Takel watched as a ring-shaped Lucrehulk-class Battleship appeared out of Hyperspace, above and to the side of the Vanquisher. The last thought to enter Takel's head before the Star Destroyer's bridge was destroyed in a hail of turbolaser and missile fire was wondering how he had been outsmarted by a bunch of stupid droids...

OOM-6 watched as the allied ship completely disabled the Star Destroyer, the dead hulk drifting through space, motionless. He had had the battleship stay at the sidelines of the conflict for most of the fight, as ordered by Grievous, then to make a mini-Hyperspace jump to catch the enemy flatfooted. If OOM-6 had any particular personality, he would have cheered. The droid commander sent a message of the space victory to Grievous, who swiftly replied, "Stay in orbit. Send down some droideka dispensers to bolster our ground forces, and send in Tri-Fighters to establish air superiority."

Grievous surveyed his troops patrol the area, though his focus quickly switched to the massive pyramid they were next to. Up this close, he could see that the otherwise smooth-looking structure had numerous landing pads lining its sides, where swarms of TIE fighter began pouring out, apparently to engage the droid forces in the air. The general snorted. They didn't stand a chance against the Tri-fighters' superior weaponry and agility. He looked at the base of the structure as well, were the droids had recently found a door that had been cut down by a Lightsaber, most likely Badur. Good. There'd be little resistance left when he finally caught up with the Jedi, then. A few B1s had been sent in, to map the massive pyramid, so the rest of them could find their way around better. What they had found, however, was even better. They had found a security room, where they were busily tracking the Jedi, and had reported that he was heading straight to the apex of the pyramid, most likely to take out the commander of the ground forces. Grievous thought about this for a moment. The Jedi was much different than most he had fought. More aggressive and offensive-minded. He admired that. The cyborg's thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of the droideka dispensers. The tall, brown-colored cylinders floated down on jets underneath their bodies, before three articulated legs extended from the underside and dropped the dispensers to the ground. Arms, ending in curving grappling devices, flipped out of the side of the devices, between the legs, dropping off several dozen Droidekas, all in their wheel forms. They swiftly unraveled, revealing them to be shielded, well-armed, weapons platforms. "Go in, and clear out any remaining resistance on the way to the elevator," ordered Grievous. Soundlessly, the droidekas curled back up and rolled through the door at high speed, scattering in arbitrary directions. Grievous turned to his bodyguards next. "Stay here. I will handle the Jedi." He walked into the pyramid, but not before casting one last glance up at the podlike command center at the top of the pyramid. "So close, yet so far away," he mused...

Chapter 6:

Imperial command center, unnamed planet...

Badur pointed his gold-blade Lightsaber at the fallen Imperial officer, who pleaded to the Jedi pitifully. "Please! Don't kill me! I can give you anything you want, I mean it!" Badur narrowed his eyes. "All you have done is help destroy the Jedi order, and treat this galaxy like scum. I'll show you who's the scum!" "No, ple--" he was cut off as the Jedi stabbed his saber into the officer's chest, before letting him fall to the floor. He looked around the now-empty command center, which was elliptical in shape, with a large viewport at one end and the door of an elevator at the other. The rest of the room was mostly bare, except for consoles and chairs that lined the walls. Dead Imperial officers and Stormtroopers were scattered across the floor, a testament to the attack Badur had made on them. The Jedi spun around at the sound of the elevator door opening, seeing Grievous step out, his hands folded behind his cloak. A pair of Droidekas rolled out of the elevator behind him before the door closed, and they unraveled, guns poised to fire and shields up. Grievous clapped a couple times, chuckling. "I must thank you, Jedi. You have made my job much easier. I got to the elevator without any opposition. You are quite thorough..." "You still want me dead, eh? Very well, cyborg. I will kill you just like I killed the Imperials that had infested this place like a plague." He raised his hand, and the Droidekas were suddenly launched backwards, their shields deactivating upon contact with the wall, the droids underneath being crushed into scrap metal. Grievous looked unfazed. He pulled out a green and blue Lightsaber, including that of his most recent kill, and activated them. "Your move, Jedi." Badur smirked and sprinted forward, saber up by his right side. Grievous sprang forward as well, slashing his sabers crosswise, only to have his opponent leap over the cyborg and land behind him. grievous spun around in time for Badur to send several chairs flying straight at him. He skillfully bisected the first two, then sidestepped, letting the last one crash through the viewport, shattering it easily. Badur ran forward, and the two duelists began trading blows, each one parried with incredible speed and skill. Grievous, however, began backing up, and Badur took advantage of the situation, pressuring the cyborg to continue backwards. Blocking particularly strong blow with both sabers, Grievous stumbled back when the Jedi suddenly kicked him in the chestplate. He flailed wildly, trying to keep is balance on the edge of the viewport. Badur swung at Grievous, but the whole thing had been a trick. The cyborg suddenly leaped straight into the air, flipping over and letting his clawed feet attach to the top of the viewport. Badur kept going, leaping out the viewport and landing on a landing pad a short distance below. As he stood up, momentarily distracted, Grievous leaped down as well, sabers at the ready. Badur turned to face him, and the two began another short swordfight, this time on the landing pad jutting out of the side of the pyramid. The two pushed their sabers together, but then looked up in unison at the sound of an explosion. A TIE fighter, shot down by a Tri-fighter, began spiraling towards the landing pad. The two fighters looked at each, then turned and ran to the edge of the landing pad, jumping off as the TIE crashed into it, the resulting explosion turning the pad into thousands of tiny metal fragments. Meanwhile, Badur and Grievous had begun sliding down the incline of the pyramid at high speed, Badur up ahead, with Grievous slashing at him. The Jedi merely parried his enemy's blows, unable to effectively strike back from his current position. Below, another landing pad stuck out, directly in their path. Badur suddenly Force pushed the side of the pyramid at an angle, pushing him to the side, sliding harmlessly past the pad. Grievous, however, was forced to land on the pad stumbling forward despite landing on his feet. He watched from the edge of the pad as Badur slid away, towards his droids' position. He immediately sent a warning signal to the waiting droids down below...

Badur easily landed on the ground at the base of the pyramid, dusting off his robe casually. Suddenly, he looked up, seeing a squad of B1s surround him, rifles raised. "Hands up, Jedi!" one said. Badur rolled his eyes, before Force pushing the droids, sending them flying. He was about to walk off when he saw the two IG-100 MagnaGuards run around the corner of the barracks building Badur had landed near. They stopped, facing him, Electrostaffs activated. Badur activated his Lightsaber, looking up when he heard a thud. Grievous was standing on the top of the building, cloak gone and most likely torn off earlier. The cyborg laughed, then growled, "Bring me back his Lightsaber, and his head!"

Chapter 7:

Imperial military installation, unnamed planet...

General Grievous watched the duel below shrewdly, as his droid bodyguards clashed against Badur, their wide, spinning attacks quite the opposite of Badur's focused defense. Suddenly, as both MagnaGuards stabbed at Badur, the Jedi leaped up and over them, spinning around and slashing horizontally, slicing one in half. As the other attempted to turn around, a neat overhead slash from Badur bisected it as well. The Jedi turned to face Grievous, who chuckled. "Don't think you're winning that easily, Jedi slime." Badur suddenly felt a heavy weight hit his back as the upper torso of the first bodyguard clamped onto his shoulders, battering him with its metal fists. Badur, however, simply spread both arms, sending a large shockwave outwards in all directions, which launched the droid into the air, where it then violently exploded. Badur heard the mechanical sound of a moving droid, and spun around, expecting Grievous. Instead, he was met with a large metal fist colliding with his cheek, knocking several teeth loose, as well as his Lightsaber, which clattered to the ground. OOM-233 stomped forward, grabbing Badur by the neck with his one remaining arm and forcing him up against the wall, trying to strangle him. The Jedi, blood leaking from one corner of his mouth, raised a trembling hand, clenching it into a fist. His Lightsaber flew towards him, blade activating mid-air, before stabbing into OOM-233's torso. Feeling the B2's grip slacken, Badur made the saber fly out of the droid's body, before slicing off OOM-233's arm, then cutting him in half. Catching the saber panting heavily, Badur spat on OOM-233's remains, then saw Grievous jump off the barracks building, landing with a thud in front of him. He turned around, glaring at Badur. "You are quite the skilled fighter, Jedi." He pulled out his two sabers again. "Your death will be very satisfying." Badur narrowed his eyes, and one of Grievous' sabers, one of six still around his waist, flew into the Jedi's hand. He activated it, revealing a blue blade. "Come and face me, then. I will give you death!" Laughing, Grievous bounded forward, bringing both sabers down at once. Skillfully blocking them, Badur sidestepped, swinging one saber at the cyborg's back, only to be forced to stumble back as his opponent spun around with an extremely forceful slash, knocking Badur's blow away. Grievous continued his assault, hardly letting up to let Badur make his own attacks. Badur then jumped straight into the air, sending a powerful Force Push at Grievous, who jumped to the side, leaving a crater where the Push hit. As Badur landed back on the ground the two fighters locked their sabers together, struggling to hold each other at bay. After a short while of this, Grievous snarled, "Let's finish this." To Badur's surprise, Grievous' arms suddenly split in half, leaving two holding his sabers, with hardly any decrease in strength, and the other two grabbed another pair of sabers, one purple and one, strangely enough, black, with a white glow surrounding it. Badur was soon stumbling backwards, trying to block the whirlwind of blades that came hammering down at him. Finally backed against the wall of the barracks building, Badur was caught off guard as Grievous abruptly changed his tactics, as one Lightsaber swung towards Badur's wrists, slicing both the Jedi's hands off in one slash. Howling in pain, Badur fell to his knees, holding his arms at his chest and staring up at Grievous. "What... what are you?" "I am the future, Jedi! I am indestructible! I am General Grievous!" With that, the cyborg swung his black-bladed saber, decapitating Badur. Grievous put his four Lightsabers away, reconnecting his arms and picking up both the blue one and his new trophy, that of Rud Badur. He put them away as well, pulling a disc-shaped object from his hip. Holding it out, it projected a hologram of OOM-6, who stood at attention. "Commander, prepare for a Hyperspace jump back to Trandosha. I will be with you shortly." "Roger, roger." Turning off the holoprojector, Grievous headed back the way he had came, the remaining droids in his squad following. "Another excellent hunt," Grievous remarked, tapping his clawed hand against his new saber's hilt.

Epilogue:

The Invisible Hand, orbiting an unnamed planet...

"Sir, we've detected several hundred contacts! They seem to be organic in origin, General." Grievous walked up behind the droid pilot, looking down at the console. Several hundred blips slowly moved across the screen, thankfully avoiding the ship. It didn't take long for the cyborg to figure out what they were. "Arachnid spores," he growled. "Where are they headed?" "Towards a jungle planet, in unchartered space." Grievous nodded, turning to OOM-6. "Commander, change the hyperspace coordinates, and keep your distance from the spores. I want to see what they're up to." "Roger, roger." OOM-6 tapped in the Hyperspace coordinates, and Grievous watched the viewport, as the stars lengthened into white streaks, and the Invisible Hand, a few other destroyers in tow, jumped into Hyperspace...

Chapter 3's up. The next one will probably be longer, and have a lot more action in it.

Finally done. Not the longest ending ever, but meh.

EDIT: Not over just yet. I've still got a short epilogue too.

How's that (other than the obvious fact that it takes place right before Grievous' debut in the SEW :P)?

Interesting fanfic...Descriptive, in-depth, action filled...though short. Quality over quantity, I guess. Great work DM.
