Xbox and PS2 JPOG: playable with PC disk?

Postby Raptor Llama » Sun Feb 10, 2008 4:41 am

Well, I know that may sound weird, but I can't help but noitice that whenever I mod something text always appear mentioning the PS2 and Xbox versions. I even saw commands for Do not touch memory card, and digsite differences in the consols. So, with modding, is it possible to play Operation Genisis on Xbox or PS2?

JPOG was designed so the same information could be put on PS2 and Xbox and PC disks without the need to change it for each one (thus more time) if I read the article correctly. No I do not belive you could play the PC game on your PS2 or Xbox. And it would probably scratch the disk.

In theory, if you modified all the files (meaning moved whatever system to the upper thing) and possibly needing to modify the disk itself or burning it, you might be able to do it, in theory.

If you had an Xbox or PS2 disk, to my knoledge you could just burn the whole thing to the disk and it would work, without any modification.

Exactly. PC has superior graphics besides the shadows. I had the PS2 version. It sucked horribly.

The reason is: to be able to mod the PS2 or Xbox version!
And the Xbox version has better graphics than both, I believe. It also has extra visitor skins. And then you could mod it, then have a lot of fun!

...?
How would running a jpog PC disc, inside an Xbox allow you to mod it?
The modable files are stored on the computer, unless you had the source code, decompiled the installer, unextracted all the files, modded the files, then put it all back in and recompile the whole thing.
Which, if im not mistaken, is basicly remakeing the game.
Look, you simply cant mod the xbox version or the Ps2 version. The only ps2 games that are moddable are ones where you can do stuff with the memory card and saved games (I dont know that for sure, but I heard something about it before) Which isnt Jpog, seeing as their save files are encrypted

No no no, you mod the PS2 or Xbox files BEFORE you burn it. Like, you can get more digsites, ect. But, it may be a bit limited. The data is on the Computer disc, you just need to bring it out.

Unless I am very much mistaken, the files on PS2 games and Xbox games are un-editable. I looked into one before and the only recogniseable file (as in one that wasnt named: 00010001000232jg) were the intro movies, and those didn't even work.

And yes, the data is on the disc, but putting it back onto the disc and over writeing the original stuff is the problem

further more, if you have a good graphics card, you basically have the XBox version on your PC, with the moddification option

But I don't have the high graphics card. And so do a lot of people. Some of the files are editable, like the digsites and messages, and some of them are not. So you can mod parts of it, but not all of it.

Unless you can hack into the disc of the X-box or PS2 versions, you CAN NOT mod it, and whoever is telling you this, is full of sh*t. You'd need to mod your X-box/PS2 to mod the game, which is alot for most people.

And OBVIOUSLY you can't play a PC game on a console, or the other way around. Obviously.
