I agree with you on the beam, TT. An interesting thing I read is that they were originally going to have the GMK Godzilla walk like Zilla.

Yeah, I read that too, but it put too much strain on the guy's back when he did it, so he resumed normal position.

But it would take away from the classic "Blast from the past b*tches!" theme they were shooting for

Yeah, kinda takes away from godzilla's awesomeness by having him be parallel to the ground.

They're testing the site's security

shouldnt be too much of a problem. If by some miracle a spam bot makes it in, staff can fix it in a few seconds

Spam Bots =/= noobs.

Noobs are people who ATTEMPT as best as their feeble little minds can to join in on the RPGs/E-wars. They just don't read the rules, or care about the impact their posting has on other people. They also have the same level of understanding of the English language as a 4 year old ("K ppl ganna leav 4 2nite")

Spam bots are as the name implies: Very basic programs that just join any and all sites that they can, where they can spam product advertisements or site advertisements. There are intelligent spammers, who still spam for advertisements (Or even just to be jackasses), but are actual people, not programs.

The "Are you a bot" question or whatever we have in the joining process is what keeps them at bay. They only know how to fill out their name and fake information (Notice: Spam accounts always have more information in the profile then newbies).

Please don't...
I've found quite a few posts from myself talking like that /:

And another thing... is it me, or are there a hell of a lot of members, compared to the number of people that post/used to post regularly?

We all go through a noob phase, usually when we were first introduced to this kind of stuff. Usually noobs think that forums are like texting, where proper english isn't needed, and that if people don't instantly reply to them, they get pissed.

Case in point: The beginning of ISS. Topic is quite bad at first, at least my posts were :P

And ya, back in the day KP was too lazy to set up an anti-bot question (Much like how he is too lazy to upgrade the site T_T), so we set the accounts to admin activated. That means we'd manually have to activate a registered account. This meant spam bots couldn't post their spam, but also meant that they could still make accounts.

That's why we have about 4.2k members. 95% are spam accounts, and we (BECAUSE KP DOESN'T UPGRADE THE F*CKING SITE) have no way to mass delete them. Going through 4k accounts, deleting one by one, and trying to make sure you don't delete an actual account is no fun task.

all residue from before we got the spam defenses working. luckily we already had a way to keep them from posting. doesn't keep them from cluttering the memberlist though...

and TT, you've seen my internet's mishaps recently. i don't want to destroy my own site because of my ISP cutting corners :P

i'll get round to it..........eventually......>_>
