Arsenic had begun to reply when a sudden telepathic shout left him reeling. 'o-ow,' he muttered, rubbing his temples. Vix shot him a concerned look. "are you okay?" she asked. 'yeah - ouch - I'm okay. Just a loud message received unexpectedly.' he was smiling when he looked up at his companions. Vix frowned, then her green eyes widened. "from - ?" Arsenic's grin widened. 'expect more company, soon. Of the scaly, firebreathing variety.'

[The Kingpin]

"Oh joy, another thing to watch Arsenic hide his hair from. Just what I was hoping for" responded Andruil with a smirk as he walked, Shiryaz leaping into the air and shooting off into the trees, hunting some unseen prey item...


"Good in that it kept US from being eaten....bad in that they'll live to threaten others like us" growled Septimus lowly, realising he still had much to learn of how Desrium's mind worked...

Arsenic gave a snort at that.'you're a riot Andruil.' he remarked sarcastically. 'need I prove that I'm not a woman right here?' he smirked at his friend, raising one eyebrow. Vix groaned and pretended to shield her eyes. "please don't. Spare our poor eyes," she said, though a smirk could be seen tugging at her lips.


"At this pace we should catch up to them soon," Aviva growled. Zar, who now flew at her side, gave a nod. Aviva would know better than he - this was the first time he'd come so far.

"That is bad...but also good if those being threatened keeps other from being eaten. Even better if others are being threatened while those previously threatened are not consumed along with those others. Hmm" Desrium replied, thinking out loud until he caught the cyclic flaw in his process. "I think a better idea would be to spread word of this menace, Septimus" The armored being said, finally sounding somewhat reasonable.

[The Kingpin]

"...I'd rather not. You're hardly the most attractive girl I've ever met. That title goes to the lovely young lady on horseback beside me" responded Andruil slyly...


"Do you really? My, how observant of you" rumbled Septimus as he eyed the armoured being in his claws for a moment, slowing as he tossed Desrium in the air, before swooping down under him as he landed, letting Desrium sit on his back, freeing his claws for other things, should he find the creatures still intent on attacking them...

"I fail to see how I needed my eyes to think of that Septimus" Desrium said to his dragon companion, Septimus' sarcasm going completely unnoticed, his sudden stunt having no visible effect upon him. "Perhaps it would be best if you focused on the flying to that village. We still need honey"

hmm, maybe I don't appeal to you because I am in fact male?' Arsenic pretended to wonder, putting a finger to his lower lip in mock thought. 'who knows.' he gave a shrug, ducking when Vix aimed a swat at him. He grinned at her, adding teasingly to her, 'My dear, I believe you're blushing.' she glowered at him for a moment for pointing it out, then turned away to hide the rosy tint that had appeared across her cheeks. He simply chuckled, amused that Andruil's compliment had brought out such a response in her.

"Nah, that can't be it. marginally deep voiced girls don't count as males, last I heard" commented Andruil. "Besides, a walk like the one you pulled in that inn couldn't possibly come from anything remotely masculine" added the man with a smirk, having caught Vix's blush momentarily. "It's OK though, Arsenic. I understand. It's OK to be jealous of Vix. It must be hard knowing you couldn't hope to be like her" he said, grinning wryly...


"Of course........honey" rumbled Septimus, dumbfounded that Desrium could so casually concentrate on a snack food when he had just had a brush with death...

"I like h-" Desrium began to say before noticing something on his shoulder from the corner of his eye. It was small, but it was clearly something he hadn't seen before. Slightly translucent with a white glaze. It was gradually creeping down the side of his right shoulder spike: a chip of ice. "Hmm. That's...strange" He said as he stared at the ice.

Arsenic smiled. 'Jealous? I rather admire her actually. Women go through so much after all.' he cast a wry look at Andruil. 'By the by, if we're going to use the argument that elfin blood makes one effeminate and slightly deeper voices don't count as male, then perhaps you yourself could be considered a woman.'

"Ah, but I'm only half Elven. the feminine genes missed me completely. I neither look nor sound like a woman, which is more than can be said for you, my mute, red haired, sparkly-eyed friend" responded Andruil with a smirk, chuckling at the attempted retort. he was bound to use it eventually...

"Hm? What is?" growled Septimus as he craned his neck to peak over his shoulder, trying to find out what Desrium was talking about...

"I appear to be freezing over" Desrium said, turning his head to look at other parts of his metal plated body, trying to see if there were other spots being claimed over by frost.

'sparkly-eyed?' arsenic couldn't hold back a laugh at that. He turned a black gaze on Andruil, his pupils lost in the dark irises. 'these eyes have scared many a targeted man, my friend. Besides, you would be surprised how much the elfin gene can show, half-blood or not.' he paused, cocked his head, smiled, and said, 'you might want to duck. She's coming in fast.' they could hear the wing-beats by now, two sets of wings rapidly putting distance behind the approaching dragons, though Aviva and Zar weren't visible just yet. "It's quite something," said Vix, recovering from the unexpected comment, "to watch her come in to land. Her wings are beautiful."

[Godzilla Forever]

A rumbling could be felt nearby Andruil's and Arsenic's location, as if something was passing by beneath them...

Draco simply sighs before the guards return.

"Your will has been carried out."

"Good. Return to your posts."

They nod and head back outside....

"Oh, I have no doubt. As they say, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'. eyes are no exception" commented Andruil with a smirk, as Shiryaz cawed above, shooting past overhead, Andruil leading Furax aside to make way for the incoming Dragon, knowing the surrounding trees would make landing anywhere other than the path difficult...


"I thought you seemed oddly cold....seems it wasn't just the altitude" growled Septimus thoughtfully, shimmering silver-blue wisps swirling around his fingers and palms, warming them after having held the armoured being...

Desrium moved a hand to grab the spike with the growing ice, tightening his grip so that it cracked and shattered, the shards being swept away by the flow of air as Septimus flew. "So this is what happened to the Maldevian" The armored being commented absently as he flexed his left arm, breaking apart a layer of ice that formed on the elbow, extending onto the sort spike on the forearm as well...

Arsenic simply rolled his eyes at that, turning to watch his old friend as she became visible. Her dappled wing membranes threw patterns of light and shadow on the forest floor. She landed carefully, hind legs touching down first, then folded her wings halfway to accomodate the trees and allowed her forelegs to drop. She looked around, spotted Arsenic, and lowered her head, extending her neck towards hi as Zar landed behind her. The tip of her snout brushed his forehead. He reached out and ran an affectionate hand over the black scales on her jaw. She gave a pleased rumble. "I have missed you, young one," she growled. Arsenic smiled, replying, 'and I you.' she turned to look at his companions, long neck snaking out as she sniffed first the man in front of Vix, then the lizard-man, and finally the tiny dragonlike creature. "Everyone, this is Aviva," Vix introduced them. The dragons dipped her head and introduced Zar.

"Ah, pleased to meet more dragons," Tetto'eko said, dipping his scaly head politely. "I am Tetto'eko, former High Astromancer of Hexoatl, Temple-City of the Lizardmen." "Has anyone ever told you how long that title is?" Mordecai said, snorting and retreating behind the Skink's head a bit when Aviva sniffed at him...

[The Kingpin]

"Ah. Aviva. We've heard so much about you. Arsenic was just saying how lovely and scaley you are" commented Andruil with a smile, his tone obviously joking. "I'm Andruil. I'm sure you've probably been told about me back in the village...Hopefully all good things...unless Dervin is still annoyed about the time I slipped some Dragonsbreath Pepper in his ale" he said...


Septimus, attention still clouded by the incident with the beasts in the forest, took a few moments to absorb what Desrium had said, finally linking it with the incident with the Maldevians earlier. "Oh....froze one did you?" he growled, mildly amused...

"Yes. You were there. I froze it dead twice before I put it in the jar with the others. Then I ate honey" Desrium replied matter of factually, as if he were telling Septimus something he should already know. The quiet crackling of the frost preceded its breaking seconds after as Desrium continued to flex various parts of his body, preventing the ice from securing its freezing grip...
