Septimus was shaken from his thoughts as a low rumbling shook the water around him, like whalesong but more violent, the Dragon glancing around above and below him just in time to see something large and streaked with light closing on him from below, the Dragon swimming out of the way just in time to see it shoot past, twisting round overhead as the creature's apparent jaws opened threateningly, Septimus' now adapted gaze revealing it to be a beast akin to a sea serpent, armoured with shimmering spikes and streaks along the length of it's body. It had a large, long, muscular tail, somewhere between a shark's and an eel's, the end of it spreading outwards in a semi-circular fan. it's mouth was lined with long, seemingly translucent fangs, and it's eyes were, similarly to his own, dark with glowing irises, no pupil being visible on the whitish orbs. it unleashed a roar that shook the water, Septimus responding with his own as the striped patterns covering his form flared brightly, the beast seeming to stop it's attack, for a moment seeming to reconsider it's situation. Septimus could see why. While it was indeed larger than he was, it's form seemed less sturdy, with delicate looking fins and a long, relatively slender neck. Having been a fully aquatic creature, it had adapted to be streamlined, not armoured, obviously not requiring the powerful armoured form that it would otherwise possess were it on land. Also, judging by it's confidence in attacking, it was likely a dominant predator here. It had nothing to fear, and so, it had no need to become more powerful. casting aside it's apparent concerns, the beast launched itself forward with shocking speed, Septimus having to twist and launch himself to the side to evade the attack, twisting round with a snarl as a blast of energy was unleashed from the Exile's arm, which now crackled, the magically bound electricity focused into a beam instead of dispersing into the surrounding water, the animal roaring out in pain as it was electrocuted by the intruder, twisting around with a rumbling growl, just as an array of quills rose along it's back and crest...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
