Andruil chuckled as he eyed her hand. "Us? maybe. You on the other hand, give yourself no credit" he said as he set the supplies down beside him. "A more beautiful symphony of slaughter I have never seen. Your position is well deserved" he added with a wry smirk...

As the sun gradually descended, Septimus saw the borders of his home nearing. To the average bystander there was nothing but icy peaks as far as the eye could see. over a mile beyond the start of the peaks however, was a large, thick cloud that reduced all visibility in the area to the point one may as well be blind. Any daring to enter it would be thrown into a labyrinth of crevices, cracks, peaks and caves that all eventually either led back to where they began, or to a swift death on the jagged rocks below. Unless you were one of the Clans. The Clan Symbol, and the specific way in which it was crafted and granted to every Hueilin, gave them the ability to enter it without being faced with this first wave of defenses. the sight of the massive cloud in the distance, concealing the peaks, brought a pang of longing bolting through the young Dragon's mind. After so long forbidden from seeing his home....he finally had the chance to be reunited with his loved ones...

Mara simply stood there as she looekd up at where the entity had gone up. She had felt the power emminating from it, and though she dare not say it, it made her master Akuro seem downright pathetic. "So that is what we're up against..." The half-demon spoke, not nkowing what else to do. If Lord Akuro were to encounter it...

At that time, the Kitsune continued on deeper into the forest, the sounds of limbs snapping and low growls coming up ahead as he neared what appeared to be a clearing...

Desrium helm laid on its side on the rocky surface, one crimson eye staring up at the dark entity as he spoke. His mind was in turmoil now as two sides battled with great zeal: his instinctual attachment to his sword, and his connection to his friends. His sword was the only thing he had for 800 years. Even if he could not remember the time past, it was still his single possession during the time when he was scorned by the world. "Power beyond anything on Aster..." he thought. Vengeance by his blade seemed too appealing. Destroying those that ruined him at the time of birth was an alluring prospect. After that, banish those who had shunned him to the realm of the departed.

From his pupil-less eye he saw the brass compass, its chain sprawled out to his side. Its cover was open and he could just make out the needle pointing north. From that, the images of Septimus' books, the jar of honey and mana rich ore appeared in his mind, overpowering his thoughts of malice. For 800 years he was detested by Aster but that only strengthened his devotion to Septimus and Jiier, and made his thoughts grow more fond of the kind souls he had came across, for they were the first to show him kindness. That was more significant than his jagged edged sword.

"No" Desrium replied.

"Clearly you need time to think," the armored being stated, mild annoyance evident in its tone. "Maybe then you will value your life."

And with that, the entity was gone. Dissolving back into smoke and taking the sword with it, the being rejoined the black mist that hung over the area, and as it did, the mist shot off into the horizon, letting the warmth of the sun descend over the cave once more. Desrium would slowly regain use of his limbs, while Jiier fell to his knees at the base of the wall, gasping for breath.

The stalkers heard it too, and fell into a crouching stance. Were their suspicions to be confirmed? Perhaps so. As the group drew closer, a growl could be heard from the nearby clearing. The masked man immediately hissed to the others:

"Lay low! Whatever it is, it is definitely not friendly."

Burzum seemed awestruck by the event. Things were not looking so good. In fact, the situation was worse than he had feared. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Mara. The olog-hai chief turned to her, and had a looks of horror upon his hairy, scarred visage.

"Was that.... what I think it was?" Burzum inquired to her. He hadn't felt so unsure of himself in a while....

Nitsunobue raised his horned head high and glanced around the area. His nostrils flared and took in the scents of the area. It smelled.... so beautiful. He hadn't smelled something this great in a long, long time. It made him feel relaxed. A load seemed to drop off his chest. Bliss was upon him. THIS, this place was paradise. The water gave him a calm, placid emotion he hadn't felt in decades: peace. It was trully sublime. The horned wyvern uprooteda bush nearby and ate its thick bark and roots, the crunchiness of the wood a nice change of pace from the nasty low-lying plants and meat he had been eating while lost in the heart of the forest.

But his calm was broken.

A sharp pain infiltrated his mind, one that had originated from his side. The same spot it had before. Not about to look weak, Nitsunobue tried his best to seem calm, but he wasn't doing too good of a job at it. So he opted to stomp into the water, and maybe it was cool him down and make the pain alleviate a bit...

"That was unpleasant" Desrium said lowly as he started to lift himself from the platform, his movements slow and jerking as he willed himself to stand. It felt as if his strength was stripped away but surely he recovered from the incident, managing to get upright with a great deal of effort.

"You're telling me," Jiier rasped after a few minutes of silence, the simian still trying to catch his breath.

AKuro, lowering his stance, crouched ever closer to the clearing, until he reached the edge.

The clearing itself was rather small, with a few flowering plants scattered around, and several bushes that had been flattened and wrecked. And what had wrecked them was a large Krayt, over 55 feet long, patrolling the area, unaware of it being watched from the shadows. Akuro smiled. Burzum would definitely like getting this little number...

"If you mean what I think you mean, then yes. I myself saw that veyr being in a nearby country just the other night. Right now, there's very little we can do to stop it." Mara answered, not liking the truth to her words, but it had to be said...

The Blood Omen flexed his legs, making sure that they had returned to normal before walking over to Jiier. He took the simian's arm and put it over his shoulder and used the rest of his body to support his teacher, helping him to his feet. He only wished his chilling armor was not a discomfort to the shape-shifter.

"Much appreciated," Jiier said, moving away from Desrium after he regained his footing. "Its going to take a lot more to put me down, don't worry," he growled, rolling his neck around his shoulders, making sure everything still functioned.

"Good to know" Desrium said before looking over to the edge of the drop, where somewhere below was Jiier's staff, its condition unknown. "Now we are both without our weapons" the armored being observed. It was a strange sensation, having his sheath feel lighter without his sword in his grasp, but it was something he would get used to.

"Uh...about that..." Jiier responded, looking at the Blood Omen tentatively. "The staff is made of sturdy stuff, I assure you. It might take me a few days, but I'll find it eventually."

"I would be glad to help you search" Desrium said. With the amount of energy the being of twilight had, just by being in contact with it the staff would be a beacon to something the likes of him.

"That is entirely up to you. I think I'll just...wait," Jiier responded, resuming his meditative posture. The simian was still reeling from what had happened, both physically and mentally.

Desrium stood still as the stone around him, watching for a few moments as his teacher slipped back into the collected state he had been before. "I have more than enough time" he said finally as he too sat, facing the simian and adopting a similar pose. Journeying back into his mind, Desrium's eyes flared and flashed as he sought to restore inner balance...

Vix's expression softened a bit as she smiled, inclining her head, replying, "Thank you. I had great teachers. Although," she added, adjusting her grip on her shoulder to better apply pressure to the gash, "I probably would've lost my head back there if it weren't for you."

Andruil smiled at the sentiment. "What good would I have been if I couldn't keep you safe?" he said as he reached a hand out towards the injured arm, his sharp senses making it painfully obvious...

Meanwhile, the black-robed Vindicator tore down the dirt path out of Blackrock, seeing the carriage in the distance, closing the gap rapidly as he reached for his back, drawing a dark wooden staff, runic patterns etched into the magical weapon, the runes shimmering as he prepared to cast a spell...

Vix's green eyes warily followed Andruil's hand, almost like a cornered animal would watch everything around it, as she subconsciously squeezed her injured arm, sending a stab of pain through her already throbbing shoulder. "...Um," she started, casting about for a way to make her arm seem like no big deal. "Aviva seemed really badly hurt," she finally said uncertainly, knowing it was a weak effort at best.

In short time, Desrium began to rise from the platform again, his folded legs hanging loosely underneath him. His arms draped limply by his side as well, but his compass was drifting about around his neck. The needle spun lazily within and the bronze cover flipped back into place seemingly of its own accord. The rocks, pebbles and dust were drawn back to the armored being, running along the stone platform, clattering and clicking as they went before rising up, suspended in the the field of weightlessness...

The hooded figure prepared itself at the sound of hooves beating the Earth. From its large cloak it pulled a parcel covered in brown, worn parchment and bound by string. It then pulled on the reins of the horse, stopping the wagon before hopping off to the side of the road.

The masked man soon made gestures to the Olog-hai and the stalkers. The last creature was to be captured here and now.... Burzum will be pleased.

Burzum nodded solemnly. "I... I guess we will need to lay low for a while."

Disappoint was evident in Burzum's voice. He definitely did not want to wait, but he realized that doing so risked that abomination attacking his forces at the most inopportune times.....
