Nitsunobue thumped along beside the elves and the others. He seemed.... uneasy today. Dreams of the Hell Hound and the Archdemon tormented his mind in his sleep last night, and he could feel Anarchy's presence penatrate his thoughts whenever the had the chance. He was growing stronger again....

But he had more realistic problems to worry about. For one, they were still realatively near Shadepines, and that is never good. Another problem is what these "dwarves" are. His final problem is.... where in Aster are the Archdemon and Hell Hound? For all he knew, they were still watchnig them, and just waiting for the right time to attack....

a splash was heard in the lake in the mountains as Septimus leapt into the water, eager to explore the parts of his home that he had never seen before. the young dragon had excused himself from the company of his friends in order to spend some time alone, soaking up as much of his home as he could before he inevitably left. with a light rippling flick of his tail he was launched forward through the water, down towards the bright, shimmering glow in the depths of the extinct volcano's crater; the entrance to the gargantuan chamber within which the Mana Well resided...

Tanwen meanwhile, walked through the massive enchanted forest that filled the valley, her own friends at her sides, discussing the recent events. "...though obviously he'll need to catch up before he can put whatever skill he has to use" growled Sahira, a long, slender black female, silvery white spear-like horns extending from her skull in an elegant crown, her eyes shimmering silvery blue, her dignified stance and reserved mannerisms hinting she was somewhat above the standards of most of the other Dragons in the Hueilin community. "The way he sounded though I wouldn't be surprised if he's already up to speed with everything wrong with the clans" responded Anara, the dark scaled dragoness that had been at Tanwen's side when Septimus and Thurduunax arrived. "I wish him luck, honestly. We've been trying to convince this bunch of fools for weeks that they were thinking backwards and it's been about as successful as teaching a rock how to count to 10" grumbled an older, stockily-built grey Dragon as he joined the trio, Tanwen chuckling at the mental image. "Don't worry, Crosus. He's not alone. And he's already proved he's not to be trifled with. The Elders of the other clans know him and respect him, so that'll go a long way to making sure his word is listened to" growled the white-scaled female, her tone carrying a certainty and confidence that had been sorely missed from her tone in the last months, bringing a smile to the faces of all three of the Dragons accompanying her. "Oh I have no doubt he'll be able to handle those boulder-headed fools. I'm just wondering if he'll survive their sheer moronic arguments" responded Crosus, Sahira giggling lightly as Anara responded "After his performance on the peak I'm fairly sure he can silence them before they leave too big a dent in his sanity". "I hope you're right. I really do. It's almost physically painful listening to some of the arguments they put forward. I'm embarrassed to call myself a member of their community" growled Crosus, shaking his head, the others chuckling...

Andruil pressed onwards, though kept at a reasonable pace so as not to pull too far ahead or put strain on the others to keep up. he was growing concerned about the Wyvern. a nagging feeling clawed at his mind, making him wonder whether he had done the right thing by letting it stay...

"Um wait, WAIT..." Byakuren called out in alarm, trying to dig her heels into the ground to keep Discord from dragging her around. Things were now taking a turn that she didn't like...

"Are you certain of that?" The bat refocused once more on Akuro, then turned away before the Kitsune could reply. "Fine then. I'll give you one more chance. If you fail..." And with those words, the bat flew over to the door, opened it up with it's feet, and flew off, not caring in the slightest if it was now leaving the room in a diffrent form than what it came in. Akuro breathed a sigh of relief. His time was short, and if he wanted to have his plans get into action, then he'd have to move fast, and operate under Burzum's nose...

Discord stopped so abruptly, he nearly caused Byakuren to pitch forward. Regarding her curiously, he said, "Ugh, now what? Am I not allowed to bring a guest when I go shopping or something? I swear, you civilized folks have turned into real prudes..."

" Um, well yes you are... but just randomly grabbing me and dragging me around is far from the best option available. You could have asked, and I would have obliged." Byakuren replied, thankful that she hadn't tripped from that. She had definitely gotten more than she bargained for...

Discord rolled his eyes, then stepped in front of Byakuren and made a flourishing, sweeping bow. "By dear, fair maiden, I would be ever so honored if you would accompany me to..." he glanced up at the sun for a moment, "...lunch, I suppose..."

Inside the local Gryphon stable on the outskirts of a Dwarven town surrounded by high mountains, one of the stall doors creaked slowly open and a black-feathered, sharp-beaked head poked around the wooden corner, bright orange hawklike eyes searching for any sign of the aging Gryphonner who had neglected to lock her in properly. Listening intently, the creature could hear only the normal noises of the stable; other gryphons and hippogriffs shuffling lazily around their stalls, calling to each other in low, rasping squawks now and then, and the breeze whistling through a crack in the wall of the old building. Taking that as a good sign, the sleek creature crept out of her stall, keeping a low profile as she slunk in a very catlike way to the stable door, a ray of morning sunlight cutting across her ebony head as she stuck her clawed forefoot into the crevice and managed to slide the old wooden door open slightly. She slipped carefully through the narrow space and paused momentarily to make sure the coast was still clear, glancing first one way, then the other, black feathers reflecting the sunlight in an iridescent sheen of purple and gold, her white and black striped fur standing out against the background of dark brown wood and dirt. With a final glance to be sure she hadn't been spotted, she trotted over to the side of the paddock and, in one combined movement, made a powerful leap, wings snapping out at the same moment and flapping once, the gryph soaring over the fence and landing with a light thump on the other side before galloping off at full speed toward an adjacent field where she knew a group of several dozen cows and sheep usually grazed...

Septimus swam through the sparkling waters of the lake as he descended deeper into the depths, a strange, musical melody ringing in his ears, as if the sheer power of the magic here had brought to life an orchestra born of the elements themselves. the Dragon's long, slender figure drifted forward in an elegant flowing S curve, his tail thrust downwards and up again as he drove himself forwards, shimmering creatures of all sorts of shapes and sizes swirling around him, amidst other Hueilin that swam through the massive lake. glowing anemone-like marine plants swayed gently with the unnatural tide. strange coral formations, never-before seen plant-life, shimmering clouds of what was likely a kind of plankton swirling just below the surface, and dozens of other creatures that most would say should not possibly be able to exist there, populated the lake that seemed to extend for miles downwards. pressing forward, the Dragon powered himself downwards, accelerating through the water at a speed he had never dreamt of attaining a mere day ago...

The travel worn carvan continued through the darkened forests of Eastern Aster. Even as the carvan continues the early morning sun does not penetrate the dark forest. As the ragged wagons continue through the dark forest the leader feels strange, almost frightened. I new we should of waited till the sun had risen to engulf ths shadowed forest in light. thought the man continuing on his path. The group had been warned that the forest had many dangerous and strange creatures residing in it, but they had took it as superstition. The leader now senses that the fools may have been right.
"You can barely see ten feet infront of you...and its has to be atleast seven in the morning!" gawked the man's wife.
"You don't know that to be true Gertrude!" snapped the man more out of fear than annoyance.
"Ulthoru! bite thy tounge!" She exclaimed.
Ulthoru looked back at her with an annoyed look on his face. His face turned from annoyance to fear as he beheld his wife's face. The blood had drained from her face giving her an ghostly appearance. Her hands were shaking as she raised them, she pointed out her face contorting willing her to scream but she could not. Ulthoru turned his stare, following her fingers, as he does he halts the carvan! Many of the wagons nearly colliding with one another, Ulthoru gawks in horror as he can't believe what his eyes are sceaming at him. Standing in the dirt road leading out of the forest is a massive monster its wings curled protecting them. It opens its eyes, revealing two red ovals expressing hatred and violence. The creature then opens its mouth grinning, a deep growl escapes its recently opened jaws as it slowly aproaches the carvan! Drawing his massive great axe Welden descends on the would be travelers...

The black and white gryphon had crossed the border into the field within a minute of her escape and slowed to a comfortable trot as her sharp gaze scanned the grassy expanse for a moment before locking onto a small group of round white creatures that were milling around near the forested far-edge of the field. With a ragged caw of delight, Myrn turned and again picked up her pace to a gallop, pointed ears flattened against her skull. The sheep, who had more than their share of experience with the runaway gryph, looked up as the black-feathered creature started to close in, the flock of a dozen or so starting to move off toward a nearby barn, the closest shelter they knew of. Myrn's orange eyes narrowed slightly, the gryph knowing all too well what could happen if she chased the sheep too close to the barn. A week ago she had been caught in the act by the ill-tempered farmer who owned the animals, and, had she not been so quick on her paws, would almost certainly have taken a pitchfork to the backside trying to make her escape. Of course, she hadn't been completely spared. When the Gryphonner brought her back, he had promptly locked her securely in her stall with absolutely nothing to do, fun or otherwise for the rest of the day. Now that she had finally managed to slip out again for the first time since that incident, the energetic mixed-breed was eager to have some fun. Running at full tilt, she changed course to intercept, aiming to cut the sheep off and drive them in the other direction so the farmer would be less likely to spot her. The sheep broke into a run, but too late. The gryphon pulled ahead of them and made a sweeping turn, coming to a triumphant stop directly in their path. The flock halted, two dozen eyes blinking nervously, the fluffy animals staying close in what almost looked like a single mass of wool and legs. The gryphon slowly lowered her head, ears now standing tall, one scaly forefoot hovering off the ground, remaining perfectly still for several seconds. Then suddenly she made a fierce mock lunge and opened her beak in an explosive hiss, causing the entire flock to turn and bolt away toward the middle of the field, just as she had hoped they would. Bouncing with exuberance, Myrn bounded off after them, swerving first one way, then the other, herding the animals in the style of an oversized sheepdog...

Nitsunobue pressed on with his elven allies, intent to protect them from whatever lay ahead. He had already failed them twice.... and he was positive that there were worse things waiting for them in the wilds of Aster....

The orcs of Gorgoroth were ignorant to Akuro's plight. They worked hard constantly, hammers beatign against fiery iron, the cracking of whips deafening their ears to the outside world, along with the clanking of metal and the tumultuous roars of the smelting machiens used to melt down the metals mined from the ore veins hidden below the wasteland's ashy exterior. It was a rich land... if one was willing to go digging. But it was a tough life, and each and every orc knew that the time would come for all of them to fight in Burzum's war.... whether by their own wills or against them....

Welden continued on his path towards the hapless carvan! As the Draconian neared the first wagon the horse began to shriek in fright bucking, trying to free themselves. Welden growls deeply his eyes glowing red as flames spit forth from his open maw! Engulfing the terrified horses and lead wagon in a torrent of hell fire! Ulthoru and his wife scream as they burn. Some how this boasts the efforts of the other travelers, as Welden closed his jaws they approached brandishing their drawn swords! Welden eyes them growling once more, he grips the hilt of his great axe drawing it from its sheth. Roaring Welden lashes out striking down anyone who dares stand in his path...

Septimus felt the mana charged water around him pulse with life as he neared the bottom, wisps of light stretching through the water like some form of ethereal fabric, untouchable silken sheets flowing lazily in the current. the young Dragon spotted a small underwater cave not far ahead, vitorite forming along the brim of the entrance. The Dragon headed forward towards it, spotting movement within. as the Dragon closed in, a pair of shimmering draconic eyes stared out at him. moving somewhat more carefully, he approached, descending ahead of the entrance so that his full form would be in view to whoever was inside. the eyes narrowed, before disappearing, their owner going further into the depths of the cavern, Septimus following, curious...

"I take it you have news for us, Makkus?" said a powerful voice in the large circular chamber, the Council of Mercutio assembled around a ring-like stone table encircling a pillar of mana descending from the ceiling. the domed ceiling of the structure was covered in a massive artwork telling the history of the Council, the artwork made from pure Vitorite, colours dancing and bringing the artwork to life, enchanted to make the art work seem to move, the image in an eternal dance, of a massive serpentine Dragon and a great 6 armed fiery demon, and of the disappearance of an island kingdom. "Yes, my Lord. It appears we have been approached by an organisation that believes that the Blood Omen of Zuppoland is alive and walking amidst Aster's inhabitants" responded the Vindicator calmly, holding out the book, which levitated to the most senior of the council currently in the building. The man was cloaked in dark navy and maroon robes, with woven trim that seemed to be laced with light, Vitorite powder woven into the stitching and giving the brims of the elder mage's cloak a shimmering look. beneath the hood, a pair of piercing ice blue eyes stared out, shimmering just enough to hint that they were not natural. a short, well-trimmed silver beard adorned the man's chin. the message had sparked a wave of low murmurs amidst the robed figures assembled around the table. "The Blood Omen? interesting. And I take it you gained little of this organisation's identity?" asked the elder. "Only that it is likely they are descended from the Mages of Zuppoland. They passed onto me the memories of the last hours of the nation before it plunged into the sea. It appears the Blood Omen encountered a Mana Well and attempted to absorb it. the resulting destruction it unleashed destroyed the chamber the Mana Well occupied, beneath Zuppoland itself, bringing it crashing down into the sea" explained Makkus. "I see...Was there anything else worth mentioning about the incident?" questioned the elder. "Only that they chose to make contact with us via a Golem. And many of them were present when I spoke with it. They were collectively watching through its eyes" explained Makkus. "Interesting. Very well. Once the Archmage has returned from the Royal Palace, we will speak of where your search shall begin. We will need to contact our agents across Aster to find out where the last sighting of anything matching Desunka's description was located. Inform your brother Travius. Have him prepare to leave, and have the Gryphon stables informed that you are to leave tonight. Once I have spoken with Lord Matthias, An Archknight of the council will join you to begin your mission" said the elder mage, Makkus nodding slowly, acknowledging his superiors orders, before turning to leave the chamber, as the Council continued their meeting, discussing other pressing matters; The call that had spread across Aster recently, and the appearance of an Archdemon in Draxon...

High above Aster, an obsidian-scaled dragon dove in and out of the clouds, enjoying the freedom of flight. At such a height, the dragon could see far, even among the clouds. Dark mist was spreading across Aster, plunging anything beneath it into an artificial twilight. But the dragon didn't care. Able to fly high enough to bypass the deadly substance, it understood little of what was going on, and cared even less. Although it could go much faster, the dragon maintained a steady pace. Hungry though it was, its efforts to steal from the civilizations below would be hindered by the light of day. It would need to be very careful...

Welden crushed the few who stood in his wake, striking down the last warrior with a back handed slash from his great axe. Growling in pleasure the Draconian walked down the destroyed wagons searching for any survivors, to his utter saddness there were none. That was barely a challenge. thought Welden as he lifted a dead horse from the ground preparing to leave. With an audible "ruffling" sound Welden raises his wings, stretching them with up and down motions preparing for flight. The Draconian then stares back at the broken and burning carvan with a smile of wicked decent. Letting lose a mighty roar Welden seems to shake the very forest beneath his voice! Jumping into the air Welden's wings muffle the sounds of the forest as he returns to his home...

Byakuren looked at Discord, then up at the sun. Was it really that late in the day? She could have sworn it was still morning... But she guessed she could float by Discord's logic for now... "Alright then, that's much better." She said, a small smirk spreading across her face...

Myrn had soon chased the terrified sheep almost all the way across the field, weaving nimbly between them and snapping at their legs, trying not to hurt, but simply to scare the wooly animals into separating. Just as she was getting close to running out of field space, she managed to frighten one young lamb into leaving the flock, the gryphon shepherding it away, letting the rest break off and bolt back toward the safety of their barn. The gryph and sheep came to a stop, the predator snapping her beak and blocking the herbivore every time it tried to run past her to return to its group. Finally, after several unsuccessful tries, the frantic creature inexplicably turned and bolted away from its home field and onto an adjacent dirt track that would eventually lead into a small local town center within the city surrounded by several shops and homes. This didn't bother the gryph much as she galloped after it down the unimproved road, past the fence of the Gryphon Stable paddock and onward toward a row of shops that had come into view beyond the trees. As long as she didn't let herself get caught, she'd be fine. The two creatures covered ground quickly, and soon the aroma of recently butchered meat wafted its way to the carnivore's nose, coaxing her attention away from the lamb and toward the second building in the row. The easily distracted creature quickly forgot about the living meat she was chasing and slowed to a trot, approaching the large window in the front of the shop in which was hanging the whole skinned leg of a cow, among other things. The tantalizing sight left Myrn no choice - she had to try to find a way to get in there. The street was still largely deserted, most shops not having opened yet. If she could break into the shop before its owner got there, she might be able to score a real feast...

Welden continues on flapping his mighty wings, propelling him toward his home. Soon his home comes into view, a gray cave on the outskirts of the Twilight forest. The cave exterior is littered with the many bones of prey and would be attackers who dared disturbed the Draconians rest. With a final "Thud" Welden lands surveying his cave for threats before carrying his prize inside. With a growl of satisfaction Welden enters his cave gnawing on the rear leg of the horse carcass, the meat cooked from his hellish flames...

Byakuren simply sighed as she was dragged along. She was used to this kind of thing with the demons she tended to help out, always dragging her around to repay her a favor. Of course, mor elikely than not, Discord was simply doing this to be annoying, but atleast she had dealt with the main problem... Of course, with the execution being a few hours away, she didn't want to miss it...
