The orcs of Gorgoroth had readied their weapons, and were currenlty discussing amongst themselves about how they would kill the human enemies of their lords, Mara and Akuro....

Kard stumbled backward from the strike from the crossbow's bludgeoning end. The warrior swiped his nose, blood dripping form it due to the striek from the crossbow, as he raised his shield, keeping in Cyris' direction at all tiems as he kept his sword at the ready at all times, waiting for the elf to make the first move...

The storyteller's hand became glowing with magical energies, as his walking stick's tip became shrouded in lightning. Acting fast, The storyteller fired off a bolt of lightning from his staff, keeping his off hand prepped with his barrier magic... just in case it decides to lunge again...

Cyris jumped into the trees, her soul tiger fading into mist and following her.

"I'll kill you buffoons later, I have blades to find..." she hissed, running among the branches as she was surrounded by the bluish mist. Icil looked at the old man and Kard, peeking from behind the same rock that Rattlebones had landed on. Her wings were a red orange, showing worry and fear. The succubus stepped out from behind the stone, holding her Skull of Necromancy.

"That was Cyris."

Kard wiped his nose again, before he sheathed his blade and slung his shield back onto his back. The storyteller wheezed, checking himself for any sign of bleeding, external or internal. He seemed alright for now, as he stretched up, and cracked his back. The old man coughed in pain, leaning on his walknig stick to relieve some tension from off of his back. Kard sighed, checking himself for any wounds himself, before he spoke.

"She wasn't as bad as I thought she'd be... scuffed me up a bit, and the old man seems a bit roughed up too."

The storyteller groaned before he too spoke.

"I think we should get moving, Icil. She seems... desperate to get the swords. If we wait too long, it will be too late."

"Yeah, she isn't too good at melee combat. Her pet though... that's new, I've never seen it before." Icil said quietly, sounding a little guilty about the fact that she couldn't help. Her wings flushed into their normal color of scarlet as she helped the old man retain his balance. She noticed the blood coming from Kard's nose.

"Are you alright, Kard? Your nose is bleeding quite a bit..."

"Thanks," the storyteller groaned.

"I've had worse wounds, don't worry," Kard replied. "You should probably focus on the old man. Amazing he can stand up after fighting that thing. Lucky he didn't break a bone!"

The storyteller shot a glare at Kard, before he whispered to Icil:

"Since I'm kind of tired of being called 'old man', you can call me Ivan...."

Icil continued to help Ivan, still looking at Kard.

"If she did, it ain't the first time it's been broken," Kard chuckled as he felt his bloodied nose. Oh yeah- it was broken all right. Closing his eyes, Kard soon snapped the jarred bone back into place, holding back the urge to yell, a few tears rolling down his face from the intense pain.

"There... better..." Kard said, the tough man still a bit pained, but feeling slightly better. It'd been a while sicne that'd happened...

Ivan coughed a bit before he spoke to Icil.

"Do you see any woudns on me?" the spellcaster asked the necromancer.

"So let me get this straight!" Urlox called out from atop his resting mount. "We're going against...a god. Alright that isn't so bad if this plan of yours works. You think mages can keep his power at bay while the... able bodied take out his foot soldiers?" The Daaven guard captain said slowly, following his own words while he spoke them. He had much to wrap his head around, choosing only to focus on the important part of the discussion: the tactic that may end up saving the land. The talk of storm mistresses and the likes could wait until after the war... if he still lived.

Desrium spoke up. "The ley lines are the domain of powers greater than any being" he began to explain, calling upon the elemental's wisdom. Urlox was straining his ears to hear his words. Only Septimus truly knew that the soft, even tone of the Blood Omen could shift to a thunderous bellow to rival a titan. "If the Traitor was faced with overwhelming amounts of ley energy, then he would be forced to contend with the threat. This would prevent him from annihilating our forces in an instant if he were not otherwise disposed" Desrium continued on, showing complete disregard for the disposition of the group.

"Lead them onward, Draco," Zazikel growled. "I appear to have business with Dhoulmagus. An emissary's work is never done, after all," he hissed with a smile...

Ten-Zlati stayed as silent as the dead Mage-Priest below him. The Slann were busy telepathically convening on the details. While all the Slann were massively powerful spellcasters, the younger generations, more numerous and weaker, were more aggressive, and would do much better on the front lines. Lord Korak himself, with his limited abilities, would serve a similar purpose, while Mazdamundi led the rest of the Slann to deal with the ley lines. A simple and straightforward plan, and one that suited the Lizardmen well...

Discord silently landed next to Arashi, watching the conversation with what could only be described as "semi-interest." He leaned in and whispered to Arashi, "This is the most boring play I've been to in centuries..."

"I am more than capable of assisting the mages and resisting Eredar's influence. However, if Eredar's forces are as innumerable and powerful as you say...Some added suppression would be beneficial so the Mages can work undisturbed" rumbled Arashi. "I am not aware of how extensive the Daemon's forces are...But I believe the forces assembled here can hold off a force far greater than themselves, so long as we funnel the enemy forces into the passes between the cliffs. Artillery would be able to decimate them before they come within reach of our soldiers, and those that are missed by the catapults, trebuchets and ballistae will be caught by the archers. Additionally, we have airborne artillery to destroy any forces that attempt to make a stand on the cliffs themselves. Valenhad's forces alone stand at approximately 50,000, and our total forces go beyond the hundred thousand mark. Additionally, we have the advantage of terrain. So long as the Mages can suppress Eredar so that he cannot change that, we will be able to hold them off until Eredar has been defeated" said Knight Commander Alexander, offering his assessment of the situation based on the information he had gathered through the night. "I believe the Dragon would serve best in making sure Eredar is not given the opportunity to steal away our terrain advantage" said Alexander finally, Arashi eyeing him thoughtfully for a moment, before nodding. "Very well. I will do all I can to insure Eredar is suppressed" rumbled the Stormweaver calmly, before falling silent.

"There is also the matter of the Blood Omen" stated Bassunka, the Zuppolandian General stepping forward before the others. "Throughout it's 800 years of existence, Desunka; the being you know as Desrium, has been a blight upon any and all that surround it. I fear any stand we make may be doomed to fail so long as it is present" said the General, the Mage representative of his people stepping forward as well. "The powers within it are not stable. There is no way we can guarantee that this Eredar won't infiltrate it, or destabilise it's energy to the point it can no longer be contained. It could subsequently cause unfathomable destruction amidst our forces" warned the mage. "We have experienced Eredar's power firsthand. Everything thrown at him was turned against us. Our forces were destroyed, our weapons had no effect. Desunka's attacks merely provoked him, and once that happened, Desunka was turned into a rampaging beast that could likely have caused horrific damage had Eredar not lost interest and departed" added the General. "Don't forget that Desrium was the reason Eredar grew tiresome of dealing with Zuppoland. Without his attacks, your city would likely have been destroyed" retorted Septimus through narrowed eyes, the General turning to stare at him for a moment, though remaining silent, seemingly losing the will to retort aggressively as Septimus's eyes glimmered purple for a second, revealing his identity as the Hueilin Dragon to the General. Meanwhile, the Council Representative standing beside Knight Commander Alexander watched silently, deciding not to make known the contract between the Zuppolandian order and the Council regarding the Blood Omen...

"I do not blame you for your judgement, but I would like to have it be known that Eredar attempted to recruit me as his agent of destruction" Desrium stated. At that moment, he lifted the spear from his shoulder and with a kick from his powerful legs, sent his metal shell hurtling from the top of the temple stairs, crashing down onto the courtyard, throwing up bits of stone upon his landing. He then slammed the bottom of the gold and silver weapon down, his arm stretched out to display the Lance of the Justicar to the Zuppolandians. "I refused in favor of serving the Dawn Mother. I refused the power to eliminate all of you here in favor of securing the future of Aster. I do not blame you for your judgement, but I believe you are quite...ignorant for it" Desrium finished saying.

"We saw you fighting it in Zuppoland. But we also saw how easily it infiltrated your form, how easily it pulled you apart. How easily it corrupted you. There is no guarantee that will not happen again" responded Bassunka, unperturbed by the Armoured Being's display. the Council Representative however, was intrigued. This would require investigation. If the Blood Omen truly was fighting relentlessly for Aster's well-being and safety, then it would call for a reconsideration of their stance on the Contract made with the mysterious Order within Zuppoland...

Draco nodded, before he turned to his legions.

"March, my brothers! And carry out Greshlynk's will!"

Clad in golden armor, the general swung his blade and pointed it out the gate. The legions began their long march to the battlfield, ready for combat...

Dhoulmagus soon began to fly back towards the great forest, expecting Zazikel to follow him. He was sure the archdemon would be pleased with this...

"That will not be an issue if the Traitor is restrained" Desrium replied simply, his scarlet gaze focused on the mage, brightly flashing. "We can only make sure of that if we do what is required of us." he added, looking to the general with the same intensity. "If the rest of Zuppoland's fighters share your worries they should be reminded that the threat I pose is null compared to Eredar; lest they allow their trepidation of fighting along side me to hinder them in battle" the armored being concluded, returning the spear to its resting position on his shoulder.

"There's a few claw marks on your arms and chest, but they're not bleeding or anything. Nothing to worry about." Icil said as she noticed the several small scratches on the old man's body. She glared at the direction that Cyris's tiger had gone into. The necromancer glanced at Kard, cringing a little from the sight of him snapping the bone back to its usual place.

"That had to hurt..." she thought aloud...

"If the pariah becomes a threat, I will crush him myself," Radamand stated bluntly, unmoving like a statue. It was at this time, however, that a streak of golden light silently rose up from Desrium's back. The light split into six distinct bands and fell to the Blood Omen's sides, three on each side, bending at certain angles to form the outline of wings, much like those Inarius was seen with.

"It is not demons that Eredar commands," Tzeentch interjected, ignoring the strange display radiating off Desrium. "Even if you contend with the Traitor's schemes and illusions, you all may have to bring your blades to bare against your own kin. Those that have fallen to the magical plague...friends, family, brothers in arms...they must be dealt with," Tzeentch continued. "Know that their demise will be a relief to them. So long as they are held within their abominable forms, they endure physical and mental anguish. Think of your attacks as mercy, my friends. They will think the same."

When the energy extended from Desrium's back, the Zuppolandians shifted into a defensive stance, though they soon calmed once they saw no one else really reacted to it. Andruil watched, pitying the Zuppolandians. Whatever Desrium did all those years ago must've been horrific to justify such a worried reaction whenever the Armoured being did anything. Radamand's reassurances seemed sufficient however, as they did not say anything more on the matter...

"I will do what I can to prepare my men for such a scenario. It will be difficult once the time comes however. Few soldiers are prepared to fell their own brethren" said Alexander grimly. "There can be no hesitation, friend. We either kill the plagued, or die ourselves" said Antar calmly. "My men will be prepared to do whatever is necessary to grant us victory" he added as he looked at Radamand and Tzeentch. "I must add that the traits of the plague must be culled as soon as they appear. I cannot say whether the mutants we will be fighting are the same as the one we faced in our home city. But if they are, they will be incredibly resilient to all forms of weapons once they have been fully mutated" warned Bassunka, Alexander taking note of it. Septimus watched on in silence. It was obvious that this would not be an easy battle for anyone...

"Wild magic controls and mutates their forms. They will not die from blood loss or broken limbs. Even removal of vital organs will not slow them down. They are comparable to the living dead at this point," Tzeentch explained, having seen numerous cities over run by their mutated brethren.

Desrium had no reaction to the shimmering wings of gold that manifested behind him. Communing with the Lance's resident spirit made him attune to its powers. He turned around, the wings swaying with the motion and he proceeded back up the temple steps. "How does one kill the dead?" Desrium asked when he was back at Septimus' side.

"Utter annihilation" responded Arashi calmly, answering the question others were uncomfortable answering themselves. Antar looked somewhat concerned at the revelation. If it took absolute destruction to bring down these forces, the battle would likely be primarily fought by artillery and other weapons of overwhelming force. While his forces had many seige weapons capable of such power, the overwhelming majority of his forces were soldiers, using swords, spears, bows and staves. "They can be crippled with broken and severed limbs, can they not?" he asked as he tried to find a solution many of the other Commanders no doubt were considering...
