"They can, but know that it will not make them harmless. The infected were not limited to average creatures like humans, elves, and dwarves. Dragons and other such creatures suffered losses as well. They still retain their power, in their broken forms," Tzeentch responded, frowning beneath the darkened hood.

Desrium mulled over Tzeentch's words before he made his suggestion. "I could assist in dealing with these more powerful adversaries. I will need mana, but cannot risk gathering the energy at the battle ground if the ley lines are at work"

"I could provide that" said Septimus as he looked at the armoured being, pleased he had the potential to play a more functional role in this battle. the Zuppolandians eyed the two worriedly, but otherwise said nothing, not wanting to reopen the subject when Radamand had so clearly said he would deal with any incident that arose from Desrium's presence on the battlefield...

"Thank you, Septimus" Desrium replied simply, waiting for the next issue to be brought forth.

"With the battle plan decided on, assuming that it works as the old woman said," Urlox started to say, "What happens if our fighters succeed in defeating Eredar's forces? What do we do with him?" the burly man asked.

"The ley energies will not just suppress him, they will also destroy him," Tzeentch replied. "We cannot know if the plan will even succeed, let alone act as a permanent solution to this plight. But it is the most solid action we can take against the Traitor at this time." She would not sugarcoat things. These beings would risk their lives defending their home, enacting a plan of her own design. They needed to know the dangers involved.

"...Sounds good to me!" the Vanguard leader said suddenly, laughing as he hefted his double bladed axe on his shoulder.

"We are to stick our necks out for this insane theory that might not even work?!" Bolthammer interrupted, stomping his foot dramatically. "I say we forget this place and move on. This 'traitor' can have Aster for all I care, I'll find business elsewhere."

"Eredar's focus is of Aster, yes. He could destroy all life that now lives on the continent, but chooses not to. I believe he is too arrogant to consider us a threat. But, if we do leave, who is to say his arrogance will not continue to grow? What if his sights fall on the other continents of this world?" Tzeentch retorted, Bolthammer opening his mouth to protest, but fell silent instead. "And by then, his diminished power will have been renewed. Even now he is beyond what any mortal creature can comprehend, and he is not at his strongest. Now is the time to act. Any later and we will stand no chance, with or without the ley lines to aid us."

"Furthermore, we have the added advantage of knowing our surroundings here. He may be the creator of this land, but at least we are familiar with it. If we were to depart, the next time we face him, we may not have that advantage" added Arashi. "We'd also not have the time to evacuate the continent even IF it was the best option" stated Alexander, Bassunka, Andruil and Antar nodding as they murmured their agreement. "We fight, or we die. The question is where and when?" said Antar as he looked up at Radamand and Tzeentch, waiting for an answer on the battlefield and time...

Urlox nodded in understanding, already bracing himself for the losses that would soon befall him and countless others. His best guardsmen, veteran warriors who stood on the defensive when Daaven was attacked from seemingly all sides would face down incredible odds with many other soldiers as qualified as they are. Families would be broken, blood would be spilled. But in the end, should they succeed then those who remain had a duty of living their lives to the fullest. It was the only honorable thing to do in light of the great sacrifice many were about to make.

Desrium eyed the faces in the crowd, trying to see the reactions of the faction leaders. Those daunted by their task risked disheartening all they represented. For the sake of Aster, this could not be allowed to happen.

"The battlefield will be as shown," Tzeentch replied, gesturing to the tiny display in front of them. "This depicts the exact center of Aster, where Eredar first emerged, and where he currently resides, spreading his darkness over the continent," she explained.

"We will depart for the battlefield when all parties have been instructed of our plan. Spellcasters need to be prepared for what they must do, and they need to know the risks. That is why you were told to bring a representative," Radamand explained, eyes almost glaring at the assembled leaders. "This may take minutes, hours, or days. But we must be swift. The longer we remain here, the longer we risk being discovered before we are ready."

"We might have been discovered already" Desrium said suddenly. "My friend and I have been attacked by a creature I once thought was a spirit. I discovered quickly it was not. The Hueilin has seen it" he added, looking to Arashi.

"Indeed. Visually, it carried many traits that we know are associated with Eredar. Additionally, the aura of energy surrounding it was notably similar to that which I experienced during my encounter with him" rumbled Arashi. Septimus turned to look at Desrium, then at the older Hueilin. He had not been aware of this incident. "Then there's no time to waste" said Bassunka as he turned to leave, his companion moving with him...

"Agreed," Tzeentch said with a nod. "Instruct your forces and be ready as quickly as you are able." Bolthammer and his entourage turned to leave as well, followed shortly by the vikings of Vanguard. Radamand remained silent, his eyes narrowing slightly as he thought about what Arashi and Desrium had said.

"Up and at 'em old girl" Urlox said to Bardia. The elder Frondfoot raised herself up and spun herself about, muscles rippling as she started down the path from the plateau without any command, verbal or otherwise to do so.

With the meeting adjourned, Desrium turned back into the temple, the light cast from the golden wings running along the giant passage, faintly visible even after he turned the corner and arrived in the main chamber.

"Be warned comrades; The forces under Eredar's control will not be anywhere near as vulnerable to conventional tactics as human or other common forces. Expect to keep striking your foe until they are dismembered. The one we witnessed in our home continued its attacks even after being eviscerated and losing an arm. Even after losing its legs, it continued moving. We know not how that one may differ from the ones we face in the coming battle....but do NOT underestimate them" warned Bassunka as he looked back at the others briefly, before leaving, heading back to his camp to assemble his forces. Alexander looked on, concern barely visible in his otherwise stone-like features. In truth, he was deeply disturbed by the revelation. Many of his men used a common fighting style that targeted conventional weak spots, severing arteries and nerves, breaking limbs and impaling vital organs. He was certain many of the other armies used similar tactics. Very few would be effective enough to completely dismember their opponents. If the foe was capable of completely ignoring such tactics, the battle may have already been lost. It seemed the larger weapons in his arsenal would be much more pivotal to their victory than he had initially anticipated. Turning to move towards his drake, he noticed his younger brother, Andruil approaching him. "My comrades and I would probably do the most good among Valenhad's ranks. We've several archers, skilled swordsmen, and myself. I needn't elaborate on that" explained Andruil, Alexander smiling. "I was hoping you would say that" he said...

"Do you think beheading them would kill them?" asked Septimus as he glanced between Tzeentch and Radamand...

"For some, yes, for others, no," Tzeentch responded to Septimus, turning to face the dragon in disguise. "I have witnessed archers eliminating their turned brethren with arrows to the skull. But I have also witnessed a mutated dragon taking a ballista bolt to the head, and surviving to cause more havoc."

The old man nodded. "Nothing too bad... I can patch that up on the way..."

Kard soon turned to Icil. "Eh, I've felt worse," the warrior said to her. "Ever been hit with a mace? Not fun..."

"Well, I've been emotionally hurt before. Ever had imps steal your shirt? Not very amusing either." Icil responded. "Those imps are but a pile of bones and waste now."

"Doesn't sound pleasant to me," Kard replied. "But I digress...."

Ivan soon spoke to the others.

"How are we all holding up? Icil, did you get hurt in the scuffle?"

Desrium placed the Lance of the Justicar before the idol of Soel's pedestal and sat down in front of the two ornate artifacts. Crossing his legs and bracing his knuckles against each other, the armored being steadied himself in the eve of war. The countdown for the fight of Aster's continued existence was starting. Time was just about up. As he was taken by his meditation, the wings on his back folded together into one golden sliver, which retracted and ultimately disappeared.

"Well, other than being frightened and worried, I'm fine, I guess." Icil said, checking her delicate horns for damage...

If Lord Kroak or his aide had any concerns, they didn't voice them, instead silently turning away and heading back to the rest of their kind. Eredar's attempt at psychological corruption likely wouldn't work against the cold-blooded race, the Slann were some of the most powerful magic-users in all of Aster, and their frontline soldiers could do such horrendous physical damage that the Traitor's mutant hordes would stand little chance. Poisons and other subtle methods of attack would be less effective, but the Skinks were nothing if not innovative. They would find a way to contribute...

Zazikel casually took off, following Dhoulmagus. He rumbled, "What of the Emperor, if he has not been persuaded?"
