The Saurians fall back to near where the imperial base is, the army quickly grouping itself into small regiments instead of one large force. Fhlr Kahn turns to the army.

"This battle will not be easy. We have lost many good soldiers in this battle already. We will need to rely more of guerilla tactics instead of a frontal assault. They outnumber us and outtech us. We have more brute strength, but we cannot stand toe to toe with these beings. We will have to let the republic take the brunt of their assault. We will try and take their sides while the main republic force drives into their army."

The wide open expanse of the canyon, which was almost completely devoid of cover, allowed Jackal Marksmen to knock the small droids out of the sky with Carbines and Needle Rifles as soon as they were within range, taking the scouts out quickly. Not that it mattered to 'Fulsamee. They could scout the Covenant position as much as they pleased. There was nowhere to hide anyway, and the Field Marshall didn't plan on hiding any of his army in the first place. The Sangheili watched as the antimatter charges detonated, vaporizing the rocky outcropping from earlier in a massive sphere of blue. Now there was little to no cover remaining for the Imperials or Saurians to advance through...

"They know better then to try and come back at us. With a small task force, we managed to somewhat show what we can with a small force. But they have an advantage. They are prepared for us and we just have the units to rout them however, this is arguably a one on two battle. Your primitive weapons are almost rather useless against them.." The Lead Arc Trooper responded to the Saurian leader. If anything, the Saurians were only useful if they managed to get in close but even that meant them leading the way and forced to almost bear the entire attack all by themselves and the Imperials didnt intend on wasting their precious supplies and soldiers..

"Are we to take prisoners, Sangheili?" Wrakytus growled to 'Fulsamee, raising an eyebrow...

'Fulsamee laughed heartily. "I'm surprised to hear you say that, Chieftain," the Sangheili replied. "From the viewpoint of a Jiralhanae, take a guess..."

"I had rather hoped not," Wrakytus replied, smirking as well, despite himself...

"Then I suppose the 'gods' have granted your wish today, eh?" 'Fulsamee growled, making sure to emphasize the sarcasm in the word gods.

Fhlr Kahn turns to the imperials.

"What we lack in technology, ally, we make up for in spirit. If we are to charge to certain death, it will be done without hesitation...."

the other saurians cheer loudly at this.

"We will settle that matter once we are finished here," Wrakytus replied coldly, any sign of the previous hint of humor in his voice gone...

'Fulsamee merely rolled his eyes. As far as he was concerned, the old Covenant beliefs were gone with the Prophet Hierarchs. If Wrakytus didn't like it, he could take it up with Ripa...

"Your spirit means nothing Saurian... absolutely nothing. Your forces were completely routed. You almost did nothing against their vehicles and warriors. Your spirit is worthless. You will all die and without a reason and no chance of victory at all" The Lead Arc Trooper stated as he folded his arms, eyeing the Saurian Leader. The Imperials did not share the Saurians Optimism.... they were seeing clearly and a chance of victory was slim.

Fhlr Kahn nods.

"I see what you mean. But what do you we propose we do then? Wait for them to come and massacre us? We must do something....."

"We have a better chance at another defensive then a attack on them. Your forces are a burden Saurian... we can only do so much alone" The Leading Arc Trooper stated, frustrated. They needed reinforcements or something... working with the Saurians was not the right way..

"We do what we can, imperial. We are not suited for combat in a field like this."

Fhlr Kahn points to the regiments, telling them to split up and take the two sides of the canyon, hoping to ambush the covenant when they come.......

"Effort is not enough for us... we need results..." The lead ARC Trooper glanced towards the battlefield as he gave the other advanced recon commandoes looks. The lead trooper stared at the field a bit more before glancing towards the rest of the army under his command. A silent thought entered his mind..

Fhlr Kahn mounts his Dinosaurid, which had escaped the raid.

"If you ask for results, where were you when we needed you?"

The saurian king heads off with the rest of his army.....

"I think we've been waiting long enough, Sangheili. They've been comfortably relaxing while we waste time here. It's time to crush them, once and for all!" Wrakytus roared through his intercom, to 'Fulsamee, his fellow Brutes once more bellowing their approval.

'Fulsamee shook his head at the Chieftain's impatience. "Don't be a fool, Wrakytus. We have every advantage right now. This Ring belongs to us. They have nowhere to go. We will blast them out of the skies if they try to escape. The enemy will HAVE to come to us..."

The Lead Arc Trooper shook his head in frustration. "While they got slaughtered we managed to put ourselves in a decent position. If we were with them we would have been destroyed ourselves. They would have rushed us as usual... anyways, you have a plan sir?" One ARC Trooper questioned as the lead nodded. It was their only chance at this point. The Lead Arc Trooper gathered the commanding soldiers and began to lay out the details of his plan..

Within moments, the Imperials began to move.. several AT-ST walkers along with several Imperial tanks slowly proceeded to head towards the Covenant, whether the Saurians came, it was unsure but for now, they had to focus on the task at hand..

'Fulsamee splayed his mandibles in a smile as he spotted the Imperial armor approaching through his monocular. "You see, Chieftain? Patience is a virtue you would do well to embrace. Prepare your Choppers. Harass them as they make their way across the valley."
