Draco walks out of the castle before mounting his horse that is stabled outside the castle. The prince walks down the road before a captain joins him in his walk, also being on a horse. "Good morning, captain," Draco says smugly. The captain retorts, "It's not often that we 'lesser folk' have the honor of seeing Prince Draco outside of the throne room." The soldier pauses for a moment before speaking again. "One of our lookouts has spotted a billow of smoke rising from the southern most town. Shall we send in a battalion to investigate the situation?" "Feel free to," the disinterested prince states. "As long as they don't reach the walls of Freyr-Lunge, I am comfortable with whatever decision you make." "Yes, my leige," The captain says. He rides off towards the barracks to gather some men to aid the town.....

Peasants huddle in their homes, fearing what the reptilian beasts will do to them if they're caught.....

Kroxigors smash their way into the few homes that were still standing, soon finding their way into one that was populated. The single Kroxigor that spotted the peasants snarled deeply, but was stopped by a rough bark. Reluctantly, it backed to the side, letting a large, grizzled Saurus Scar-Veteran stride in, flanked by two other Saurus. The Scar-Veteran stared down at the cowering humans with cold, inscrutable yellow eyes, then snorted. Raising his viciously barbed weapon, he slammed it into the skull of the nearest peasant, splitting the unfortunate man's head in two. Ignoring the blood sprayed over his scales, the Veteran barked at the other two Saurus, who stepped forward and brutally killed another two peasants. Soon enough, all but one human had been mercilessly executed. The Saurus turned away from her, letting the Kroxigor stomp forward...

The peasant slides back until she is up against the wall of her home.

"Please..... d-don't kill me......."

After a few minutes, the captain gathers about twenty men form the barracks, lining them up in the center square of the city. "Alright. I have gathered you men, for I need you to come with me to the town of glaan. There is smoke rising from its general direction, and I feel that something has happened over there. Any questions, boys?" The soldiers all shout, "No, sir!" "Good. Now let us get a move along. This could be dangerous. FORM UP!" The soldiers get into block fortmation. "FORWARD MARCH!" The soldiers head out towards the city's main gate, with the captain riding close behind them on his armroed steed.....

The Kroxigor, either incapable of understanding or simply uncaring, stepped forward, whipping out a clawed hand and smashing it into the side of the peasant's head, snapping her neck with the force of the blow. Hoisting the dead human over its shoulder, the Kroxigor stomped away, intending to make a meal of her later...

Khorne feeds ravenously on the hippogryph he recently killed, glad to have some food in his belly, as the sky above the ashy wasteland grows black with clouds.......

The battalion of men head out the city gates, following the main road towards Glaan, intent on making it there before sundown. The captain stares at the smoke billow, fearing that the worst has come upon the poor souls within the town.........

Kroq-Gar watched with his cold, calculated gaze as the Lizardmen finished mopping up the last survivors. His steed below him shifted restlessly, but the Saurus restrained him, tightening his grip on the Carnosaur's scaly neck with his gantleted hand. He knew the scent of blood was probably driving Grymloq crazy, but it didn't matter. He'd have a meal soon, if not from a creature in the jungles, then from the humans, if they attempted a counterattack once they found out what had happened.

The battalion continues on their long trek to the southern border of the kingdom, nearing the large billows of smoke. "Draw your weapons, men. We don't want to be caught off guard," the captain tates. The soldiers draw their longswords and march on, the captain himself pulling out his sabre in case he needs to defend himself too...........

Perched on a low-lying cliff, Uriel watched as the soldiers left the city through the main gate. Shifting in anticipation, the dragon glanced around the town, using his powerful sense of sight to try and spot any food sources inside...

A flock of Terradons, ridden by sharp-eyed Skinks, glided over the wrecked village, and spotted a distant dust plume on the trail leading to the settlement, big enough to come from a large number of people or animals close together. Expecting trouble, a pair of the Terradon Riders swooped towards the source of the dust...

The battalion continues marching forward. However, the captain sees something flying high up in the sky. Knowing that the only things that lvie in the mountains are gryphons, which don't look like what is flying around, he shouts, "Men! Prepare for battle! There is somethnig flying up in the sky!" As if on cue, the soldiers move their shields to their front and sides, while three of the soldiers draw the bows they brought with them, aiming up in the sky to shoot whatever is flying overhead......

Draco notices something resting on a cliff in the mountains, but decides it is only a gryphon and heads off into the town........

The Terradons swooped high over the ranks of the knights, merely scouts and not interested in fighting. Well out of arrow range, but still capable of seeing the enemy battalion, the Terradon Riders soon turned around and glided away, intending to report the approaching enemy to their superiors...

Spotting a collection of livestock inside, Uriel lept off his perch, gliding through the darkened skies like a phantom. Gracefully descending to the ground, the dragon landed behind a sizable building near the outskirts of the city, moving stealthily toward his prey on the other side of the town...

Just as Natasaika began throwing Servan's spear into the tidal pool, she felt a sudden jolt in her arm as the tool was stopped in mid-air by an unknown force as she started to release it. She slowly turned her head, some fear filled within her body just before she noticed her brother and asked, "why'd you stop me? I saw the perfect fish to catch!" He quickly replied, "for one, you didn't have a proper grip on the spear. Two, that fish could easily escape the weapon, and those rocks down their appear as if they'll break this tool if you threw it to hard..."

The captain looks at the strange creatures as they fly overhead, perplexed. "Keep your weapons at the ready, men. I doubt that they are the worst we will run into." The battalion, despite fearing what they will encounter, continues on..........

The people of the city of Freyr-Kunge stay blissfully unaware of Uriel's presence, still bartering, buying, and the like. Seeing that it is getting dark, Draco sighs and heads back to the main palace.......

Peering around the corner of a building, Uriel spots a group of civilians talking amongst themselves, the dragon quickly and stealthily trotting out into the open, before disappearing behind another building on the opposite side, gradually nearing his goal.

The Terradons had soon arrived back at the wrecked settlement, and one landed in the midst of the destruction, its Skink handler hopping off and approaching Kroq-Gar. As it did so, it chittered, "Scar-Leader, a force of warmbloods are coming this way. They may be here to avenge their comrades." Kroq-Gar huffed. "An honorable sentiment. It will not save them. Prepare your mount. We will kill them all if we must." The Skink nodded and scampered away, while Kroq-Gar began barking orders to his subordinates. He had brought along a small unit of Cold One cavalry for just this occasion, and they lined up alongside him, intending to lead the charge into battle. But first, he wanted to make sure the humans didn't arrive at full strength. Some of the Scar-Leader's Skinks, as well as several Kroxigors, disappeared into the forests along the jungle trail...

Uriel shrinks back into the shadow of the building as the soldiers march past him, the crown of spikes on the back of his head pressed flat, clearly on-edge. Instinctively, the dragon lets out a muffled growl, teeth bared...

The sounds of the jungle around the Draxon battalion echoes with the chirps and distant growls of the wide variety of creature native to the area, even on the extreme edge of Lustria. Unknown to the soldiers, some of the chitters weren't from simple animals...

A Skink Chief, part of the unit hiding in the forest around the trail, watched from the darkness as the battalion passed by, his crest stiffening and subtly shifting in color, silently alerting his fellow Skinks behind him. Raising his head, he let out a loud chirrup, which blended seamlessly with the noise of the jungle to the humans. However, to the Kroxigors on the other side of the trail, it was something entirely different: a signal...

With an earth-shattering roar, a trio of Kroxigors charged out of the forest to the right of the enemy soldiers, swinging their massive weapons and knocking their foes aside like ninepins with their sheer power, crushing armor like tin cans...

One of the royal guards turns to the noise. "What was that?" "You were probably hearing things," another says. "Come on; I'm tired and it's late. I've got a family to take care of."The guard sighs before following his troop........

The soldiers are startled form the sudden attack, almsot breaking formation but quickly regain focus. The archers each put an arrow in each Kroxigors' chest, while the others hold their shields up and thrust their swords at the kroxigors' guts, trying to disembowel them....

The captain steadies his steed, shouting, "HOLD FORMATION!" as he himself tries to keep himself form fleeing back to Freyr-Lunge.....
