Rebin whirled around at the sound of the Promethian attacking, and quickly firing it at the machine's face. "What the hella re these things?" He shouted in panick, firing again and again. Up in the branch above him, whatever was watching withdrew away...

Yukari, on the other hand, was flat-out terrified, and uncertain as to what she should do. However, a quick thought ran through her mind. She reached into Rebin's backpack, hopnig he had packed what she thought he had packed...

The bullets pinging against the massive Promethean's shield caused it to flinch, its mask closing. It turned to Rebin, as if offended at the interruption, then jumped off of Damian and swung its blade-mounted left arm at the armed human in a backhand motion...

"Dinosaurs, huh? I see your career as security force has been an...extensive one?" Kane said, Felicity listing to one side as it zoomed past an outcrop in the tunnel. Its lights swept over many nooks and crannies in the walls and out from them were tiny, screeching creatures with leathery wings and bodies adorned in midnight blue fur. Their heads were large, rounded, sightless and possessed a maw with tiny sharp nubs for teeth. To Kane they were just blurs pouring out from all directions, becoming a thick cloud of muddled shapes ahead of the Felicity and streaming along the sides of the pass...

"That one was intel retrieval and assassination for a corporate client back in 2010" said Jacob simply, speaking of it as if it were a normal thing. Eyeing the monitor, his enhanced vision allowed him to catch a more thorough view of the flying creatures, his augmented eyes absorbing data at a much faster pace than normal eyes, effectively allowing him to see things with the precision of a high speed camera...

"2010...so you lived through the last century, what's your opinion on how the world's been progressing since your first life?" Kane said while simultaneously making hair line maneuvers with seemingly no effort at all, dodging obstacles as if he were a part of the craft he flew. It wasn't long before the orange and black research vessel burst forth from the subterranean chasm and into the rift world day. Its spotlights shut off and rolled back into their ports, covered up by circular hull plates for future use.

A small flying machine hovered into view of Felicity's main viewport, the flying creatures around it ignoring the construct like it was just another piece of scenery. The drone was vaguely humanoid in appearance, with two large discs folded flat on top of each other behind it, floating on their own and giving the drone the appearance of a small VTOL. It watched Felicity carefully, as if scanning the comparatively massive ship, but did not make any hostile moves towards it...

Damian coughed, gettign to his feet and rotating his arms. This thing put up a hell of a fight! He's lucky the impact of this blasted machien didn't crush him flat. Damian levelled his grnade launcher, aiming for the thing's shoulder, before he fired his explosive payload at the machine, aiming to blow its arm off...

Rebin leapt back away from the slash, barely dodging it, the sudden movement causing him to fall flat on his back, still fiting bullets, the movement also catching Yukari off-guard and knocking her back as well...

The towering Promethean machine sidestepped to try and avoid the gunfire, but took the grenade in the shoulder. Its shields absorbed most of the explosion, but the construct still staggered, its armored carapace charred on the right side. With an angry screech, the Promethean doubled over, its carapace spreading apart in panels. A fountain of orange fluid flew out of this opening, immediately followed by another of the flying drones, the discs folded behind it spreading apart and vertically rearranging themselves on either side of the machine. The larger Promethean's carapace folded back up, and it turned to face Damian, raising its right arm and firing bolts of energy from the medium-barreled "rifle" attached to it. The flier, meanwhile, hovered near it companion, firing bolts like those of the Crawlers as Rebin and Yukari to keep them off the bigger machine's back...

The APC floored forward, driven by Seargent Hutcherson.

"Fire for effect!", hollared the hardened noncom-officer to his gunner, Corpral Jurgen.

The heavyset German locked the 125 mm cannon on the hulking machine attacking the expiditionary force.

"Enaged!", screamed back Jurgen in a german accent, as the APC's main cannon thundered out six shells of tungsten and lead directed at the foreign attackers back.

Abruptly, the flier turned and projected a field of blue light directly next to the Promethean, intercepting the incoming rounds. However, the first shot cracked the shield, and the rest of the salvo pierced the unshielded machine's carapace. It toppled forward, rapidly disintegrating into yellow particles from the site of the injury until it simply ceased to exist, its ranged weapon dropping to the ground at the point of its destruction. The drone, now alone, let out a beeping noise and quickly buzzed away, floating between the trees and vanishing from sight...

Jurgen couldn't tell what had happened. That thing had just faded away?

He was brought back abruptly by a smack on the shoulder from Major Hall. "Nice shooting corpral!", praised the Major.

Hutcherson, satisfied with the constructs destruction, put the vehicle in park and lowered the exit ramp, quickly grabbing a shiny mettalic first-aid kit from the heavy metal cargo chamber.

None of the crew even noticed the small drone.

Rebin and Yukari, both having managed to dodge the drone's firing, were surprised to see the APC come to their rescue. Had it not arrived at that moment... No, neither wanted to think about that. They both went over to Damian, concerned with the man's wellbeing. "Are you alright? Did that machine hurt you?" Yukari asked him...

Peering out from the higher branches of the tree it was in, two faded yellow eyes kept observing the group. "Impressive. The master would be interested in meeting more of his kind." the being mumbled to itself, still obscured in the shadows of the leaves of the tree...

"I'm fine, don't worry," Damian said. "I've had worse thigns land on top of me before...."

The big bear of a man soon turned to the newcomers.

"Thanks for the rescue," Damian spoke to Jurgen and Hutchinson. "Who are you?"

Ever the millitary man, the seargeant had brought his rifle with him, and was holding it in one hand, the first aid kit clasped in the other before tossing it to Jurgen.

"My, that thing looked friendly.", spoke up Hutcherson, his voice very robotic, coming through his helmets mic. "But I'm Seargeant Andrew Hutcheron, U.S. Special forces, And this is Corpral Jurgen Ilshstein." , finishing with a nod to the big man in the suit next to him.

"Excuse me sir's and ma'am, but are any of you injured? Cuts and such are a top priority, seeing as this place may harbor some unkown diseases.", asked the corpral in a thick german accent, before the visor on his helmet snapped up. "And may I ask your names and for your respective employers?"

Yukari looked up at the general. So they were military... That was nice to know. "Name's Yukari." She introduced herself, before pointing to the others. "And these are Rebin and Damian, respectfully. Our employers... that is something that I cannot tell you." She said.

"No injuries here, corpral" Rebin told him. "Thanks for saving us, though..."

"It just smells differently depending on who's in charge, hmm?" Kane replied, glancing over to Jacob with a smug look on his face when suddenly there was a thump against the Felicity's hull. It wasn't exceptionally loud, it was mostly muffled in the cockpit and the craft continued flying without hindrance. "Well that's odd," Kane said after, looking to his instruments to get a reading, not sure what he had hit between the mass of creatures outside and the short break in attention moments before. He lowered the craft towards the reddened landscape of rolling hills and dunes and prickly plants. There, partially embedded in the ground was the small robot, still giving off an energy signature. "...That's not one of our bots..." he deadpanned.

"You don't say" responded Jacob blankly as he eyed the feed from the scanners, considering a course of action. Things had suddenly become considerably more worrisome. There were drones here? technology? How advanced was this place?

"It doesn't seem broken or anything from these readouts, which is really something considering our top speed just now, not to mention the impact it just had..." Kane replied intrigued and cautious about the downed machine. There were lowly exploratory drones and then there were the ones mounted with big guns and other things that could generally make someone's day go afoul. That made Kane hesitant when it came to taking the thing on board and proceeding to study it...
