"Right. Move out" said Khuurava as he began making his way towards the right entrance, assault rifle in hand...

The Marines immediately sped off, firing at the central structure's window-like opening in the wall, not stopping as they did so. Arrak followed Khuurava, saying, "Let's do this quietly. I don't want to deal with anymore Geth than necessary..."

The hangar bay Anto led Kenn to was a mess, to say the least. The Batarian had sealed his helmet against potential radiation or vacuum exposure, though Kenn was safe in his enviro-suit as he began to scan the area with his Omni-tool. "There's a lot of interference from the ambient radiation," he muttered. "Let me just try and sift though it, and I might find an actual signal or chemical trail..."

The Spawn leaped from the ferns, pouncing on the female as she wildly shot into the air...

By now, Aria had been herded from her cell into a cramped, pitch-black room, where she stayed for what could have been hours. Suddenly, a part of the wall in front of her opened into a brilliantly lit, plain white room. Her previous confinement chamber began to collapse into itself, pushing her from its confines rather roughly into the white room. As soon as she was moved inside, the room she had just came from disappeared altogether.

"Welcome to Testing Chamber 00AT274. We will now administer the 'organic facial contact with heavy metal object while bound' test," a voice sounded from all ends of the room, very clear and professional, but obviously synthetic. Before the Asari had time to process what the voice had just said, a solid metal slab to her right extended outward and promptly slammed one flat end squarely against her face, knocking her onto her back.

"Thank you for participating in this test. Please proceed to the next testing chamber."

Several minutes passed. The MSCHQ (Mobile Space Cruising Headquarters) crew kept getting bad transmissions, that is when they didn't lose connection.

"Dammit, answer me!" Sergeant Kurt A. Lionel shouted into the intercom. All he could hear was static, and an occasional hissing sound. Suddenly, the small shuttle finally arrived back to the ship...

"You're telling me. If there was a way around it, I'd ditch these guys and head after Saren. If he really does have a ship that size...We'd be screwed if he gets to the ship before we get to him" hissed Khuurava lowly as he made his way forward, eyes focused on any potential threats...

"About time they come back." the sergeant muttered to himself as he walked towards the shuttle bay. The shuttle, however, was highly damaged, and even had some human blood splattered on its side.

"What the hell?" Kurt asked himself, walking towards the door of the shuttle. The blood-splattered door opened as a luminescent creature leaped from the shuttle, pouncing on Kurt as it hissed loudly. The large, sickle-like claw on each of its forearms skewered the sergeant's arms to the floor as its upper teeth slammed into his skull while at the same time the single tooth on each of its mandibles jammed into his lower jaw...

Only a sheer force of will kept Aria from losing consciousness when the metal panel slammed into her face. On her back, nose bleeding profusely, she dimly wondered why she even wanted to stay awake. Why give them the satisfaction, after all? Naturally, this train of thought wound up causing her to lose consciousness anyway...

"Hey, the more help we get, the better," Arrak replied. He looked around the corner from behind the walkway's railing, looking up the ramp and down the hall into the central structure. There were no Geth in the immediate vicinity as far as he could tell, and the distant sound of Pulse Rifle fire confirmed that the Marines' distraction was working. He could also here voices, his acute hearing picking the telltale guttural snarls of a Krogan, and...

"...it sounds like a Turian's in there, Khuurava..." Arrak whispered, tightening the grip on his assault rifle...

A trio of Spawn walked out of the mutilated shuttle, the one that had pounced Kurt feasting upon the fresh kill. A Spawn clicked at another, the other clicking back in response. The first Spawn then leaped into the vent on the wall next to them. The second Spawn walked down the empty hall, in search of prey. The third Spawn walked back into the shuttle. Suddenly, it started to tremble. Out of the end of its tail came an egg, shining and moist. The third Spawn's crest started to grow, along with its size. It was mutating into a Birthmother...

Khuurava nodded. He heard it too. he continued moving, back against the wall as he continued towards the central structure, always watching the various locations that could be used for cover, both to mentally plot his path towards it in case trouble showed, and to make sure nothing was waiting in ambush...

"...making a suicide attack on the right flank," the Krogan's voice growled as Arrak and Khuurava moved closer. The Turian's voice replied, though it was difficult to tell if he was actually present, or was speaking via a com unit. "Don't let your guard down. Humans are hardheaded, but they are anything but foolish. I am almost at the dig site. If what these humans have found is what I think it is, then we will be one step closer to finding the Conduit." The Krogan grinned. "And a step closer to the return of the Reapers..."

Arrak peeked around the corner, staring down the long hall. The Krogan was several dozen feet away, inside the circular center of the structure. If the Turian was present, he wasn't visible, concealed around the corner at the other end of the hall. No guards were present, beyond a pair of Troopers protecting the Krogan, who appeared to be a lone merc, not a member of the Blood Pack. Arrak quickly ducked behind cover again. "What the hell are 'Reapers?' Never heard of them before," he whispered...

The Spawn crawled throughout the air vents, eyeing down at the humans that walked throughout the cruiser. In order to stop these beings from killing the start of the swarm or the Birthmother, the leader would have to be killed first. It creeped through the vents, towards the pilot bridge...

Meanwhile, the Spawn that had walked through the halls walked into a sort of area made for human rest. A dog snapped and snarled at the Spawn as it walked throughout the room, only to be glared at by eerie eyes. The canine whined as the Spawn walked towards its direction, clicking and hissing...

"No idea" responded Khuurava as he prepared to kill the Krogan and his support. From the sound of things, the Turian was elsewhere. He wouldn't've mentioned his location otherwise...

Back with the Birthmother's shuttle, several young Spawn set off into the ship. Although they were slightly smaller than a fully grown Spawn, they were just as dangerous, and they needed to eat in order to grow...

"Okay, we haven't heard from any of our three explorers, and Kurt's transmission signal just went off. I think something's wrong here." said one of the pilots of the ship. "I think this might be an emergency- Hey, uh, Robinson? You hear that? It sounds like something's in the vents."

"Probably a rat or something-" another pilot started as the Spawn bust through the vent, pouncing from the ceiling and easily killing the man with a claw to the throat, then greeting the other pilot with open mandibles and sharp, bloody claws.

The hall Spawn walked out of the room, its teeth and claws bloodstained from its recent "challenger." The alien then snarled as it dashed into the next room, detecting a human walking towards the room it had just left. The Spawn heard the human scream in horror at her slaughtered pet...

"Plant the charges and destroy the facility," the Turian, more than likely Saren, said. "Leave no sign of our presence." The Krogan nodded and turned to his Geth guards. "You heard Saren! Get the charges set up! We don't got all day!"

Although previously scarred by the dog's claws as it thrashed, Raze (the Spawn) found himself in a room almost exactly the same as the previous one, although this one had a sleeping human inside, perfect for feeding the youth. This human, however, looked somewhat more elite than the usual humans he kept seeing. This human had a black and shiny object under the thing he was lying down on. Raze carefully examined this object, pulling it out with his claw. Suddenly, a loud noise was emitted from the object, and a smoking hole was embedded in the wall. The human woke up instantly, screaming in alarm once Raze caught his eye. Raze hissed back at the man, watching as the human picked up the rifle from the floor and started shooting. Although Raze avoided the bullets, the man got almost a perfect shot, hitting the Spawn's right mandible, thus ripping it from his head. Luminescent green blood splattered onto the walls and floor; however, Raze stabbed his claws into the man's legs, then planting his tail onto the human's face, then launching corrosive liquids into the man's face. Hissing filled the air as the human screamed, dropping the rifle. About half of a minute later, he fell onto the floor, face down, silent. Raze had lost his mandible, however, and he couldn't grow it back...

No sooner had Saren killed the comm line than a grenade streaked forward from Khuurava's launcher, exploding on impact at the feet of the Krogan and his Geth henchmen, the Khurakra opening fire on the machines while they were down, knowing they would need to minimise the Krogan's support...

While the Troopers were caught by surprise and quickly cut down, the Krogan was only stunned, staggering back a couple paces. However, even as the armored alien attempted to recover, Khuurava's gun suddenly and abruptly overheated as a red laser sight projected from the ceiling and passed over it. Seemingly from out of the woodwork, several slim, quadrupedal Geth that seemed almost organic in appearance hopped down from the ceiling, hopping from surface to surface or crawling rapidly along the floor, zapping Khuurava and Arrak's weapons and firing at them with laser-like sniper rounds from their single eyes...

Meanwhile, in the pilot's bridge, the Spawn finished off the second pilot with a quick swipe to the chest. It eyed the controls. Before it leaped out of the vent, it noticed the pilot using an object to seemingly control the area's location. It put its talons on the steering devices as if they were hands.

It was learning how to steer the ship.

The ship headed towards the battle taking place, although it was quite a distance away...

A flash of light from the enormous construct floating in system space marked the completion of another relay jump. Streaking out from the mass relay was the Seeker's scout ship, tracking an aged propulsion signature of another ship. The trail disappeared in the vicinity of a world with a rich blue atmosphere and a landscape carpeted with vegetation. Organic, though not sentient life. The ship's scanners reported intense electrical disturbances in the magnetic field of the planet caused by the decaying orbit of its moon, resulting in electrical storms that would be dangerous to a robotic entity such as Ecliptor. However, readings of a concentration of weapons and other synthetics made the planet a point of interest. Investigation and "salvage" of technology was warranted. It would have to be a quick operation, to minimize risks inherent with the planet's condition. Aligning the ship's entry so that it would come to a landing in a natural depression less than a kilometer away from the Geth base, Ecliptor began his descent to Ontarom...
