"Never, in my knowledge" hissed Khuurava as he put away his weapon, eyeing the corpses with a scrutinous gaze. "I can't argue its effectiveness however. I doubt that marine squad we met would be able to take these things without at least one of them snapping at the sight of them" he added as he turned, heading back towards the console...

"Must've been the scientists," Arrak muttered, turning away from the scene in disgust. "Turned into one big ambush for anyone coming to the dig site..." He quickly shook it off, deciding to distract himself with the console instead. "I can't believe this thing is still operational after 50,000 years..." the Turian said...

"Impressive tactics nonetheless. I wasn't aware Geth would think of something like this. Seems they're more dangerous and advanced than I thought" hissed Khuurava as he moved away from the dead husks, approaching the console. "I wonder whether it's much different to our own technology....Aside from the appearance difference, It seems relatively similar" he added, referring to the Prothean console, as he moved to operate it...

"You wanna touch it, go right ahead," Arrak said. As soon as Khuurava touched the holographic console, it pulsed several times. After a few seconds, a wave of energy emanated from it, and both mercs were stricken with their second headache of the day as dozens of images flashed through their minds, a fast-moving slideshow that appeared to show destruction and death at the hands of synthetics...

Khuurava snarled in pain as his hand pressed against his head, a dagger like pain tearing through his skull, feeling as though his brain had been scrambled, the images agonising, emotions flowing through them, conveying horror, fear and dread, amidst a plethora of other things he didn't understand, the images flashing through his mind so fast he could even comprehend what they said, the Khurakra falling to his knees, his rough, rattling breaths the only thing he could hear...

On its course through empty space, the purple vessel closed in on the station. The small ship eased its way through the energy stasis field and drifted in towards its center before deploying its 24 legs. It touching down on the stainless gray metal of "Home's" hangar, the forward end splitting, swinging outwards and releasing the ramp. Descending down the ramp, Ecliptor delivered his cargo of scrap metal and spare weapons for his Seeker comrades to retrieve. However, the far most valuable of his payload was the marine, still unconscious but confirmed to be alive. He held her in his metal arms as he left the hold of the scout ship.

Arrak's reaction was very similar. He collapsed against the side of the console, only to be knocked forward as the Prothean device exploded, apparently not intended for use by other species. Only the base of the console's structure remained intact, still producing a dim green glow for a few moments before dimming. Arrak didn't bother trying to get up, lying on his back, panting heavily. What the hell was that?

Kenn fiddled with his Omni-Tool nervously as he brought up a holographic image of the Ninmah cluster. "The only thing here is a few planets formerly inhabited by Rachni, and an abandoned listening outpost from the Rachni Wars. The synthetic could have gone there to hide, or there's something else in the system we just don't know about..."

Charles noticed a green light in the vent. He had noted before that these aliens were luminescent, so he aimed his pistol for the vent, ready to shoot any Spawn that would come out.

Meanwhile, another Spawn walked into the storage room, curling up inside of a fairly large steel crate, slowly growing larger, yet more defenseless. This would be the second birthmother on this ship...

Raze growled as he crawled out of the vent, landing in what seemed to be an observatory room...

By now Aria had been moved into the next test chamber by force: a large mechanical arm was clamped around her shoulders, and the biotic was hoisted into the chamber, where she was promptly dropped from around 10 feet in the air. The room was yet again one of a plain white color, almost entirely featureless. At the center of the room was a crate with the words "DANGER" printed on all visible sides. She received no instruction from the voice that had guided her earlier.

"This one greets that one," one Seeker said to Ecliptor as it passed, heading toward a nearby ship in the hangar.

A very annoyed Aria glared at the crate, but did not make a move to get near, partially because of the obvious warnings, and partially because she was sick of giving the Seekers the satisfaction...

"This one returns that one's greeting" Ecliptor replied, walking around the growing crowd of Seekers that proceeded to gather the newly acquired salvage from his outing. While they hauled the goods away, he was walking towards the containment area where Aria was being held, making the uneventful trip across the station as usual and delivering the marine to a plain white cell. The blue plated Seeker laid her down on the ground and left the scene with the wall of energy appearing in his wake.

"Note....to self.....Don't **** with derelict consoles" hissed Khuurava with a groan as he flipped onto his front, slowly pushing himself onto his feet. The distant high pitched drone of the Ezdelera slowly grew louder as the ship neared the dig site, the docking bay door opening as turrets folded out of the ceiling, arming themselves in case of unwanted intrusions as the ship lowered itself to allow boarding in the Scorpio...

"I guess that's what drinking ryncol feels like..." Arrak muttered. As he looked up at Khuurava's ship, he shook his head. "Well, f**k. Saren got away in a big-a** Geth ship, we've got weird visions forcibly shoved into our heads, and we don't know where to go next. What now?"

"We haul *** and hope we can track the ship down before it hits the mass relay" snarled Khuurava as he rushed for the Scorpio...

"Rachni?...I suppose its the logical choice. The Krogan destroyed them millennia ago. Nobody would expect a Synthetic base in a dead system" Grunted Kharss amusedly. "Anto, get 5 corvettes ready. We're going to investigate. Make sure the ships don't have defective shields, and are fully armed. Last intelligent synthetics I heard of were powerful enough to throw their masters off their own homeworld. We take no chances" he said firmly, nodding to Kenn. "Your service has been valuable, Kenn. As promised, your little...problem with Harrot will be dealt with" he said, glancing over at Grizz, as if telling him to see to the issue...

"Sounds like a plan," Arrak said, racing after his fellow merc. He took one last glance over his shoulder at the remnants of the console, rubbing his temple. He'd sort out what the hell THAT was later...

Anto nodded. "Got it," he growled, heading off to do his job. Grizz nodded as well and left, Kenn following. It could've been worse, the Quarian thought. He could've screwed up and been tossed out an airlock instead...

The Spawn that had drank the mysterious liquid had suddenly grown membranes, which soon formed into wings. This was liquefied bat DNA that the youngling had consumed. The young alien took flight, also getting the attention of the scientists, whom were working on an unknown, glowing, cyan liquid, which seemed to be plasma, due to the heat it let off. The youngling suddenly swooped at a scientist, its claws ramming into his face...

More and more Spawn arrived outside of the pilot's bay, banging and slashing at the door. Charles kept on shooting at the beasts, managing to kill some and wounding others severely. He needed more ammo soon, and with the teeming amounts of aliens outside it would be to dangerous to go back to the armory...

In moments, the Scorpio had been backed into the Ezdelera's cargo-bay/garage, the door sealing itself as the turrets rolled back into their compartments as Khuurava rushed up to the cockpit, the ship's engines roaring loudly as it ascended into the atmosphere, entering FTL speeds as soon as it was clear of the drag of the planet's atmosphere, rocketing towards the Relay in pursuit of the massive ship...
