David spun the wheel to the right, the Humdinga swinging about well in advance before the tail hit the surface of the water. White spray leaped up from around and behind the amphibious vehicle as it turned around, speeding away from the ripples caused by the splash.

The Spinosaurus would have turned to pursue the Humdinga had it not been interrupted by... something. Barnes saw that the beast had paused in its rampage, sniffing the air curiously, like a gigantic scaly cat. What the hell is-- Barnes couldn't even finished his thought before the all-too-familiar sound of thundering footsteps, noticeable despite being muffled by the water, reached his ears. ...Deja vu... he thought. Apparently, the combination of explosions, gunfire, roaring, and blood had attracted Sue far more quickly than the man would have preferred. As far as he knew, the Rex probably abandoned her perfectly good Allo meal for the sheer purpose of finding them and gulping every last one of them down like Skittles...

the M240 continued firing mercilessly, several rounds smashing into the Spinosaur's upper torso and neck, Jacob stopping for a moment to line up a shot, firing a burst directly at the massive beast's head...

The Spino flinched at the gunfire and wheeled away, weaving between the trees with agility that belied the creature's bulk. It was taking hits, but the damage was certainly lessened.

The footsteps increased in frequency and strength as the source came nearer, noticeably closer to the Humdinga than anything else, as if coming from that direction...

David's sight was locked on the giant sail-backed animal as the Humdinga sped away, the muzzle flash of the turret punctuating his view. Gauging the growing distance between the Spinosaur and the Humdinga, David spun the vehicle around once more once he believed it was time for another pass on the the beast...

As the Humdinga was turned, Jacob stopped firing...just long enough to note there was something else closing in on their location. timing his shots more carefully, he began firing in concentrated bursts instead of using the fully automatic capabilities of the weapon, conserving ammo that would otherwise be wasted. "Something's coming" said the man as he reached over his shoulder to his backpack, eyeing the surroundings warily for tell-tale signs of an attacker...

Just moments later, a flock of birds took to the skies, an exodus from their tree top perches, clearly spooked by the approaching threat. Throttling down, David could hear the distant yet rapid tremors that were quickly growing louder and nearer. "Oh good. Its not a party without the ******* T-Rex is it?" he said, irritably, the signs of Sue's appearance well known to him by this point.

Waiting beneath her personal root hideout, an angermark appeared on Persephone's face as she felt the all-too apparent quakes that signaled the Tyrant's arrival. While she was glad that Jacob and David had appeared to save them, the last thnig she wanted to "Rescue" her and the rest of the mercenaries was a blood-thirsty, near indestructible Tyrannosaur... Even with the Humdinga, she doubted that they had enough firepower to down Sue here and now... "Persistant jerk..." she muttered as she checked her ammo...

Rick swore under his breath as the footsteps continued to come closer to the general location of where he and those hiding in the tree roots were, despite the sounds coming in the direction of where the Humdiga was. Things had seemingly taken a good turn when the vehicle had arrived and those driving it had began firing upon the Spinosaur, but the sounds of the approaching T-rex had quickly taken away the relief he had initially felt...

Maxwell growled angrily to himself. Great, he thought. First the Spino, now that damned rex is back. Will she ever just give it up?!

Hiero waited patiently underneath the roots for Sue to show up, he had noticed the tremors and he hoped that the two monsters would fight each other. When that happened he planned to move as far away from here as possible, towards what had been their objective.

Riley looked on as the spinosaur left the group alone in the swamp, while shouting, "bloody hell, that thing nearly got me! Thanks everyone, I owe y'all! Heck, I owe y'all two," and soon got up, heading to the others...

Barnes quickly stuck a hand out from his cover and waved at Riley. "Get the hell over here, soldier!" he shouted. "Move it before you're lunch, d*mmit!"

Sue's arrival was blunt and unsubtle, as usual, the massive red monster smashing aside the thin mangrove trees like they were saplings, bellowing all the way. The Rex bashed her way through the treeline and stomped right towards the Humdinga, each tremendous footstep sending up a none-too-small torrent of water...

Maxwell stays completely still, beckoning for Riley to enter the forest and find a hiding place. Hopefully, that Humdinga would be able to at least irritate that monster so she could leave...

As the Rex revealed itself, Jacob drew a small metalic box, holding it on the side of the turret as he fired at the Tyrannosaur, focusing the powerful weapon's firepower on the beast's face, the sheer amount of ammunition almost guaranteeing at least a couple of major injuries. "David, keep us out of it's reach!" he yelled over the gunfire...

"Might as well tell me to inhale while you're at it!" David muttered, the engine roaring to life once more. The water sprayed from the Humdinga's aft as it swerved around and sped out of the way of the Tyrannosaur, moving around its flank

Sue's thickly-armored scales absorbed the gunfire, but the Rex certainly felt it. More than a little surprised at the stinging pain, the dinosaur simply thundered past the Humdinga, heading for the trees, looking for easier prey. Unfortunately, she instead found a very angry Spinosaurus facing her down with a screech. The sail-backed carnivore had stopped her evasive maneuvers now that the gunfire had stopped aiming at her, and splayed her forearms aggressively at the intruder, the swamp apparently being part of the beast's territory. Sue slowed, staring the Spino down and letting out a deep, threatening rumble of a growl from her throat. Still, the Spino did not falter. Dodgson, watching from his root shelter, seemed more than a little confused. "This doesn't make sense," he muttered to no one in particular (considering no one could actually hear him anyway, it didn't really matter). "In every test we've taken, the Spinosaurus ALWAYS retreated from an encroaching Tyrannosaurus, territory or no..."

Rick watched as Sue and the Spinosaur began to make threatening sounds at each other. He said quietly to himself:"Good. Maybe they'll kill each other and that'll save us some trouble of running away." Even if one of the Dinosaurs didn't suffer an immedietly fatal wound in their inevitable battles, then the victor would still be weakened and possibly die of blood loss later...

Riley moved through the swamp to the other mercenaries as fast as he could, not wanting to have to deal with the dinosaurs again...

From beneath her shelter, Persephone watched the fight about to begin. Sue and the Spino happened to be less than 10 meters away from her hiding spot, and though she wanted to get somewhere safer, part of her brain told her to stay put, or else run the risk of drawing both predator's attenion... that, and getting an upclose look at Spino vs. Rex wasn't something she wanted to miss out on... Hopefull, Sue would b seriously injured during the fight...and if that were the case...
