Sue's thickly-armored scales absorbed the gunfire, but the Rex certainly felt it. More than a little surprised at the stinging pain, the dinosaur simply thundered past the Humdinga, heading for the trees, looking for easier prey. Unfortunately, she instead found a very angry Spinosaurus facing her down with a screech. The sail-backed carnivore had stopped her evasive maneuvers now that the gunfire had stopped aiming at her, and splayed her forearms aggressively at the intruder, the swamp apparently being part of the beast's territory. Sue slowed, staring the Spino down and letting out a deep, threatening rumble of a growl from her throat. Still, the Spino did not falter. Dodgson, watching from his root shelter, seemed more than a little confused. "This doesn't make sense," he muttered to no one in particular (considering no one could actually hear him anyway, it didn't really matter). "In every test we've taken, the Spinosaurus ALWAYS retreated from an encroaching Tyrannosaurus, territory or no..."
