Wraith snarled, waiting for the precise moment before suddenly twisting, jaws clamping down on one of the cat's paws right past the claws, luckily not getting caught on one, jaws shattering the bone as his claws raked over the cat's face and flank, something wet and soft being hit as he did so, Wraith having taken out one of the cat's eyes...

The rogue let out a screech of pure agony. His landing turned into an undignified fall as his paw gave out. Blazeheart wanted to rush over and sink his teeth into the cat's throat, but he held back in case Wraith wasn't done yet.

Wraith snarled at the cat as he began to circle it, his amber eyes burning with cold fury. "I'm going to make you BEG for mercy before i'm done" he hissed, a bloodthirsty, merciless tone taking the place of the once kind, fatherly voice of the Shadowclan Leader. "I'm going to make you feel the pain of each and every cat you've killed....and more" he snarled, before lunging at it again, putting one clawed paw on the cat's forehead, another kicking at the injured leg, his jaws clamping shut on the rogue's ear, Wraith thrashing until it was shredded down to the base...

From the undergrowth, a trio of rats slunk out, one slightly larger than the other two. Sniffing curiously, they skittered closer to Wraith and the fallen rogue, the smell of fresh blood taking the place of caution, as another pair of rats brought up the rear...

Smokestorm rolled his eyes. "Well, I think it's safe for you to come down now. Unless, of course, you were the one who killed our friend down there." His eyes glinted coldly as he assessed the other cat. "I assure you, they won't appreciate that..."

The rogue shrieked again, squirming in an attempt to get loose. Blazeheart felt a chill run down his spine at the change in Wraith's voice. Well, no one can doubt he's ShadowClan at heart, he thought, remembering Wraith had been ShadowClan's leader before the Clans fell. He flinched at the sight of the rats. He hated rats as much as he hated his brother's murderer.

Swift gave the gray cat a cold look. "Can you smell any blood on me?" he growled, getting to his paws.

Wraith let the cat twist slightly do that he was facing it from the side, one clawed paw beating the broken limb as the other slashed at the soft area just ahead of the hind leg, his jaws clamping shut on the scruff and thrashing, the sensitive spot being shredded by the black tom's fangs...

The rogue was panting in between yowls of pain by now, the agony coupled with blood loss almost sending him into unconsciousness. He fought to stay awake, attempting to twist around enough to sink his teeth into the black cat's flank or shoulder.

Wraith caught the movement before it had a chance to even hope for success, the tom lifting his foot from the broken leg and putting it on the right side of the cat's face, claws unsheathed as he raked it down the cat's face, taking out the second eye and blinding the cat, as well as cleaving right through the cat's face and leaving gashes that reached down to the bone, Wraith continuing the movement until it ended back down at the wounded leg, which by this point was less flash than bone, Wraith literally carving chunks off and riddling it with gashes, thrashing hard suddenly and pulling a chunk of the cat's scruff off, before tossing it aside. "BEG for mercy, rogue....beg for an end, and i'll give it to you" he growled coldly...

Smokestorm nodded. "You make a good point. Now, are you going to come down now, or what? I don't really like having to stare up at a tree all day."

Swift meowed, "I might as well, or you'll accuse me of actually being stuck." He started to climb down, carefully, well aware that the other cats still saw him as a potential threat.

The rogue coughed, too exhausted to voice his pain other than with brief, whimpering pants. He didn't beg. He opened his mouth and growled, "I hope...you feel as much pain as this...when you die...fox dung..."

"I haven't killed without reason....i haven't killed weak cats that had no will to fight, simply because they were passing through. now YOU'RE the weak one....and you're the one who will die for your actions" growled Wraith coldly. and with that he went for the hind leg, twisting downwards as he did so and biting down, shattering the lower leg as his left paw raked along the cat's flank viciously, ripping deeper and deeper with each strike, Wraith starting to feel his claws scratching against the ribs...

From various positions around the clearing, the foliage shifted ever so slightly as the cats maneuvered their way around, moving with an impressive balance of stealth and speed, quickly surrounding their prey...

Before he fell unconscious from the pain, the rogue coughed a harsh laugh. "You even...admit...he was weak," he rasped. "If it hadn't...been me...it would've been...someone else..." He laughed again, and his head hit the ground with a dull thud as he finally slipped into the darkness.

Blazeheart could see the rogue still breathing. But it wouldn't be alive for much longer, by the look of things. Slowly, the dark ginger tom stood. He leaped from the cracked rock and landed with barely a sound. The young cat padded over to look at his brother's murderer, more badly wounded than Sunstorm had been. He felt a bit sick, but he also felt satisfaction rising in his heart.

Flamesight pricked her ears, listening hard. She thought she'd heard something, but maybe it was just the wind...still, she unsheathed her claws and pressed them into the earth. She felt like she was being watched...

A loud snap was heard to the she-cat's right, as one of the cats stepped on a small twig in their path.

Flamesight's head whipped around, green eyes glaring. "Show yourself!" she called. Fireflower didn't move from her place, but she swiveled one ear towards her sister and turned her head just enough to see the former WindClan cat out of the corner of one eye.

"That would be unwise, child. I'm sure you're well aware of strategic positioning?" a voice meowed from the undergrowth, chuckling, a feline form appearing a few feet from the grieving black she-cat. The cat was a blueish gray in color, obviously a very seasoned individual, even its voice radiating its experience.

Its body was almost completely devoid of imperfections, such as scars or filth, but its most striking feature was its eyes: Only a faint outline signifying that it had any pupils at all. Its fur seemed to lightening into a shade of white near its underside, while two strange markings drew even more attention to its eyes, two diamond shaped markings spreading through the middle of its eyes, as white as snow.

The strange she-cat moved forward toward the only one who seemed to be agitated, staring ahead with a strange, blank look, as if observing something unseen...

Flamesight switched her attention to the speaker, keeping one ear trained in the direction she'd heard the twig snap. She studied the stranger warily. Fireflower tensed, not sure if an attack was to be expected.

"Are you sure you want to be the one to end it's life? it can be a difficult thing to do for one who hasn't done it out of nessecity" growled Wraith warningly...

"You seem calm for intruders. Are you not afraid? Are you not concerned that you are not welcome here?" the she-cat questioned, tail twitching behind her, sightless eyes staring directly at Flamesight...

"For my brother," Blazeheart mewed, almost to himself. He bared his teeth as if in a growl, and lunged. His fangs dug into and broke the soft skin of the throat, and he tasted the coppery tang of the rogue's blood. He bit down harder, feeling the muscles beneath his teeth working in spasms, trying to get air into the rogue's lungs.

"This is your land?" Fireflower asked, keeping her voice carefully neutral. "We didn't know. We're just passing through." Flamesight held the sightless gaze, trying not to let herself become unnerved.
