Nightclaw thought of the suggestion for several moments. "What about the ones who feigned their loyalty to get the clan's trust?" he meowed. "I seem to remember the very few who risked it quickly got ripped into really small pieces...at least, that's what Shadowclan used to do long ago" growled Wraith, a very small grin of amusement at the thought coming to mind. "Well....i guess that works..." meowed Nightclaw. "I was considering the idea myself....but the Clan has to be given the chance to speak, and at the moment, you two are the only clan members present. I suppose it's settled then. Insolitus and Renny will spend a period of time in the clan to test their trustworthiness, and to see how well the rest of the clan take to them" growled the older tom as he looked around at the four cats around him. he glanced at the loner and the kittypet, a look of seriousness in his gaze now. "However...let me warn you...some cats will be wary of your presence. some will not be as welcoming as others. and you would be wise, regardless of how things go for you, not to do anything to upset the Clan....i don't need to emphasise the fact that i won't hesitate to take action if i see my Clan members in any form of danger" he growled...

"Spoken like a true leader," Insolitus meowed, faintly impressed. "There will always be a few who object to change," he went on, inclining his head. "But change is a part of life. You have my word that I won't harm one of your Clan without reason."

Hawkclaw refused to look at the brown tom when she nodded, keeping her gaze on her Clanmates. Renny seemed unpredictable. maybe even dangerous. But she knew if he proved to be so, he'd be taken care of.

Wraith nodded. with that, he turned to lead the cats back to camp. he took steady strides through the territory and into the woods, leading them forwards. Nightclaw stood behind the two newcomers, keeping an eye open, accepting the Leader's decision and will, but not dropping his guard...

Hawkclaw walked beside Nightclaw, wondering how the Clan was going to react to this. She kept silent, starting to get lost in thought. Insolitus said he was born on the other side of the mountains. Does he mean...in the destroyed forest? she wondered. Or...is he from somewhere else? She remembered hearing how it was her mother who led the Clans here, from their old home, which was being torn down by Twolegs. She remembered being told that ThunderClan's leader at the time, Shadowstar, had lost a life on the journey. But she didn't remember ever hearing about these tribes, or if cats had started living in the destroyed forest again.

it wasn't long before they reached the camp, several thick bushes encircling the camp's land boundries, the lake making up the water boundries; a position they had taken as a precaution against the fires that raged repeatedly through the area. he glanced around at the clan members, interested to see how they'd react...

"The mighty warriors return," Lightstorm purred, starting forward to welcome his sister back. He paused, amber eyes widening slightly as he caught sight of the strange cats. "And who might you be?" he asked, his tone carefully neutral. Robinflight, not far away, turned his head, ears pricked. Insolitus took a brief look around, noting where the dens seemed to be, before locking gazes with the white tom. "My name is Insolitus," he meowed, for the second time today, and probably only the fourth or fifth time in his life. Hawkclaw broke off from the rest of the patrol to touch noses with Lightstorm, who looked a little confused. Softly, she began to explain, and Lightstorm's shoulders relaxed as she reached the end. "Welcome to StormClan, then," he mewed. Insolitus nodded, looking around curiously once again.

"I find it amusing that for the second time today i'm calling the Clan's attention" called Wraith to the clan. "What i have to say however, will be brief. after some inquiry, thought and decision, I've decided to allow a pair of Loners, Insolitus, a wanderer, and Renny, a former kittypet, a chance to stay in the clan. their trustworthiness will be yours to decide in the following moon or so, at the end of which i will call for the Clan to decide whether they have proven themselves trustworthy and capable of becoming Warriors for our clan. If anyone has any questions or objections, you may approach me in the Leader's den at your convenience" yowled the tom, making sure his voice was audible for the whole clan to hear, before turning to Robinflight once he had put some space between himself and the newcomers so they couldn't be heard. "Robinflight! i'd like to speak with you for a moment" he growled as he reached the Leader's den...

Robinflight looked up, a little surprised. "Okay," he meowed, getting to his paws and padding to his leader's side. "About what?" He tilted his head, curious.

Insolitus sat down underneath a tree, curiously regarding the Clan, yet not meeting any cat's eye directly. He hadn't been around this many other cats in a while. It would take some getting used to.

Wraith lowered his voice to little over a hiss, inaudible to anyone but the Deputy. "Robinflight, I have a duty i'd like you to perform for me" he started as he walked into the Leader's den, further seperating them from the rest of the clan, approaching his dark corner as he continued. "I want you to watch them carefully. i don't expect them to prove hostile. i've been assured by Starclan they have no intention of it. but at the same time, i don't want them causing any trouble, intentionally or otherwise. keep a low profile when watching them. i want them to have opportunities to go about any harm they may potentially inflict on the Clan before their little 'trial' is over. but if they try and take the opportunity, you are to summon me, or interrupt it yourself if it seems small enough not to require aid. is that clear?" growled the tom lowly as he sat down in the shadows, only his glinting amber eyes showing in the darkness...

Robinflight felt his eyes widen a bit at the task. "Understood," he mewed. He'd broken up quarrels between his Clanmates, but he didn't know if he could stop a fight between cats who instinctively defended each other, and a couple of loners. He'd do his best, though. Even if his best wasn't good enough.

Wraith nodded. "Good" he growled simply, closing his eyes. by now the sun had long since begun to descend. "You've done well, Robinflight" he hissed quietly, a small grin on his face, though the shadows made it all but invisible, the voice itself seeming to come from the wall of the den than the black tom...

Renny sat down next to Insolitus, though his gaze was more fascinated then wary. "Wow... Would you look at this place? I mean, look at all these cats!"

"Th-thank you," Robinflight stammered, taken off-guard by Shadowsoul's praise. He started to back away, assuming the black tom wanted to rest now.

Insolitus glanced at his companion. "They are many," he meowed, nodding. "More than I expected." More than we could fight off if it comes to that, he thought. He took note of the long-haired white tom and the tabby and white she-cat heading into a den as the sun set. A lot of the cats were settling down for the night, it seemed.

"Perhaps several seasons from now you'll be the one leading Stormclan with Coldeyes, and have your own deputy" growled the Leader calmly before falling silent...

Meanwhile, Nightclaw was standing a short distance from the newcomers, keeping a silent eye on them...he hoped his father was making the right choice...

In the back of the den, there was the white pelted leader. His nights of little sleep had caught up to him after he came back to camp. He gave Coldeyes his assignment before slinking into the leader's den. There he fell into long, replemishing sleep that hadnt finished...

Riverstone and Mudswirl laid down, eyeing the loner they had stopped not too long ago. He appeared again? With another cat? How suspicous could things get? Still, they kept their distance. As far as they were concerned, by the end of the test, these rogues would be expelled from the clan, walking on their own, or dragged out, bleeding....

"Don't worry," Bloodspill's warm voice meowed in Nightclaw's ear, the black she-cat herself not being visible. A trace of her scent lingered, however. "Your father knows what he's doing."

Robinflight didn't know what to think about that. As he padded away from the leaders' den, his thoughts were chaotic. Leader of the Clan? Sure, every warrior had thought about it at one point or another, but Robinflight had never really been serious. Now he was forced to confront the facts - when Shadowsoul lost his ninth life, it could be him at the head of the Clan. Assuming he wasn't killed or crippled before then. It was a point he wasn't sure what to feel about.

Nightclaw cocked his head, smelling the a faint, but somehow familiar scent, thoughts swarming him over the voice. "Whose that?" he muttered, confused...

"An old friend," Bloodspill meowed. "One who knows your father well. And the one who told him these cats were coming." The softest touch of feathers silky as a raven's but in actuality much bigger swept down the young tom's spine. "As I said...you don't need to worry."

"Come on," replied Renny, standing back up. "We should go into one of these cave-thingies. I think that's where they sleep."

Insolitus nodded, getting to his paws as a silver and black tabby tom padded over to them. "You sleep in the warriors' den," he mewed. The cat turned. "This way."

Robinflight led the newcomers to the den, ignoring a soft hiss from Vixentail. He found two unoccupied mossy nests close to the back of the den. "Here. Get some rest." He headed for his own nest, towards the center of the den. He still wasn't entirely comfortable with it - the center of the den was generally where the senior warriors slept.
