Smokestorm mewed, "Almost." He flipped the mouse in the air and deftly caught it on the top of his head, grinning. "There, that's better."

"I see.....well then, Fogcloud...sounds like a trial is in order" growled Wraith calmly, his amber eyes studying the hrey tom, from stance, to expression, to the look in his eyes, the black bengal watchingfor any sign of false intentions, though for now, seeing none. "How determined are you to prove your loyalty to Stormclan, Fogcloud?" growled the tom...


"oh....i suppose that explains why everyone was called in to talk to him?" meowed Nightclaw...

[Hopeflower]

"...Not entirely," Lightstorm meowed, cocking his head in faint puzzlement. "Why only call the former ThunderClan cats? If he were looking for forgiveness...it really should've been between him and the family." He frowned. "That's what I don't get..."

Fireflower smiled. "You've never seemed more like Spottedstar," she mewed, taking a bite of her meal.

Smokestorm smiled, a little more sadly this time, before flipping his head up and launching the mouse into the air, before catching it deftly in his jaws. Between his teeth and the mouse, he managed to mew, "Feeling better, I assume?"

"Im ready to lay my life on the line" Fogcloud growled, bowing his head. "I must make up for the things Ive done in the past..."

Snowstar widened an eye slightly at his son. He truelly had changed... and had no intention of holding him back. What ever trial he was given, no matter how dangerous, he was ok with it. After all, his son had survived moons on his own in the wild...

"What do you have in mind?" Snowstar mewed, almost callously, contrasting with his character...

"Care to talk about it?" Thunderheart meowed calmly, still worried...

"Bravo." Silverstripe meowed, brow raised as he watched Smokestorm, while he finished the last of his own meal...

[The Kingpin]

"Well...i'm sure you'll agree, the life of a loner gives a tom a few more difficult experiences than clan cats of a similar age. so we'll need this to be....fitting" explained Wraith as he glanced at his partner, scanning for a sign of what he was thinking. this idea was hardly the most dangerous in the history of the clans...but it wasn't going to be easy, either...


"....maybe he did something in the past that made all of Thunderclan angry with him?" meowed Nightclaw, guessing...

"Of course" Snowstar mewed, looking to his son. "If he's willing to die for a clan filled with cats that dont even know him yet...well, the trial should present that opportunity, no?"

[Hopeflower]

"Leaving when he did would be enough to make most of the Clan distrust him," Hawkclaw meowed, wrapping her striped tail over her paws. Lightstorm glanced from one to the other, one corner of his mouth twitching. "Ah, teaming up against me I see," he joked. "A good reason...but is it reason enough?"

Demontalon looked up at her father, wondering how much to tell. "...I'm happy that Fogcloud is alive and well...really," she mewed. "But...I don't know what to think anymore. He left the Clan of his own free will...and now he's back? Begging for forgiveness from us?" She shook her head slowly. "It...doesn't make sense..."

Wraith nodded. he looked towards Fogcloud now, eyes narrowing slightly. "spread throughout the territory are numerous fox traps. placed by twolegs that have invaded from time to time. these traps pose a serious threat to the clan. particularly apprentices who haven't learned where they are and where twolegs tend to place them from time to time" he growled...

Snowstar looked at Wraith from the corners of his eyes. The traps... he was going to have Coldeyes and a party go take care of them.. but it was a fitting test for the gray tom. A smirk crept onto the cat's face. It wasnt because of the task he was faced with, but how his son reacted, nodding and mewing "Where is my objective and when do I leave?"

"they're spread throughout the old Thunderclan and Shadowclan territories; Stormclan's current territory. your trial will be to find and disable the traps, and inform us of the locations so that we know for the future where to be especially careful" growled the Stormclan Leader as he sat. "When you go is your choice. you can go now, despite sunlight falling, or you can go at sunrise tomorrow" growled Wraith as his tail swept around his paws...



"well, father's past with Shadowclan taught me one thing: it takes surprisingly little to get the Clan to hate you" meowed Nightclaw, eyes narrowed...

Fogcloud paused for a moment, thinking. It'd be more dangerous at night, with the rogues, and theres a chance he could fall into a trap himself. With only his pride, which he had to swallow on more than one occasion, and his life to call his own, he mewed "Ill set off first thing tomorrow"

"True enough." Lightstorm looked towards his father, brother and Shadowsoul. "That's one thing that never fails to surprise me...you'd think I'd be used to it by now," he added in a mutter.

[TyrannoTitan]

Thunderheart sighed. "Fogcloud's intentions have yet to be seen. My advice would be...don't shun the cat, because maybe he really has changed...but don't fully trust him either. Not yet." he explained, licking the young she-cat's forehead comfortingly. "Its a difficult situation, but...you have to consider your own well being first. Is he worth risking more heartbreak?" Thunderheart meowed sincerely.

Demontalon blinked, considering the question and the ginger and white tom's advice. Was he worth it? She struggled to find an honest 'yes' or 'no' answer, but all she came up with was... "I don't know," she mewed. StarClan help me...I really don't know, she thought.

Thunderheart nodded, smiling faintly. "It isn't an easy decision...not one you can answer quickly. But I'm sure you'll choose wisely." he meowed, tail flicking Demontalon's ear.

Demontalon nodded. "Hope you're right," she mewed. She touched her nose to her father's as her shoulder gave a sharp throb. The poppy seeds' pain-numbing effect was clearly wearing off. "I'm...gonna go get some rest," the dark she-cat meowed. "See you in the morning." She turned and slipped into the medicine den, curling into her nest and staring at the den wall blankly. Maybe...tomorrow she'd talk to Fogcloud...if he even wanted to see her again.

Thunderheart watched Demontalon go, his faint smile slowly turning to a frown. He really hoped things would work out...the young she-cat didn't need more hardship, especially after what had just happened. Turning away, Thunderheart made his way toward the fresh kill pile.

"Well....i guess when it could mean hurting the clan, it's understandable" meowed Nightclaw thoughtfully...


"Very well" growled Wraith simply. "Until tomorrow, then" he added as he turned, walking away...
