A few moments later, Fogcloud arrived outside of the camp, catching scent of Wraith as he approached, he knew where to meet the leaders. Snowstar was also at the entrance, meeting up with Wraith not long after the black bengal took refuge in the trees...

Demontalon was up early, grooming her pelt. She hadn't gotten much sleep. Her mind had refused to let her rest and she'd spent most of the night staring at the den wall. I think every last tiny detail of that wall has been burned into my memory, she thought dryly.

Wraith looked down at the grey tom, finally deciding to make himself heard. "Are you ready to go through with the task you've been given?" growled the black bengal tom...

Nightclaw was curled up in the warrior's den, his tail serving as a shield for his face from whatever light surrounded him, the young tom having always hated sleeping with light around him...

"It shall be done quickly" Fogcloud mewed with a bow of his head. "Enough time has passed as is." He added. Snowstar mewed "Yes indeed...then I wish you luck on your quest.."
"Luck is for the foolish who cant make their own lives" mewed the gray tom. "I dont need it" And with that, he turned tail towards the forrest, walking off resolute...

"He's sounding confident...if a bit naive" growled Wraith once the tom was out of earshot...

"Didnt we all at some point?" Snowstar mewed with a chuckle. "He'll live and learn... whether the lesson is painful or not depends on his actions" He turned to look up at Wraith, looking into the bengal's eyes. He had that look on, the one that told him he had something on his mind. Snowstar knew the cat long enough to pick up on it...

"Indeed" growled Wraith. "Are you free to walk? Or do you have some pressing issue here?" inquired the black bengal as he got to his feet...

"No issue here" Snowstar mewed. He turned to face Coldeyes, who was sitting off center the clan's camp, surveying the area, taking mental notes. "Im sure he can handle any issue until Robinflight and the dawn patrol returns"

"good" growled Wraith, before heading off towards the Camp Entrance...

Snowstar trotted out of the the camp's entrance and into the territory, walking off in the general direction of the stream. It was a ussuall recreational route and the stream was a good place to talk...

Fogcloud made his way through the forrest, cutting through the thickets and over growth towards the old two leg nest. He'd get rid of the traps in the old Shadowclan before cutting over the Thunder path and taking care of the others. Natrually, they'd be around where the two legs appear every now and again...

Lightstorm padded at Robinflight's shoulder, pausing every so often to renew the scent markers. "You know," the long-haired white tom meowed thoughtfully, "to this day I'm curious." Robinflight gave his Clanmate a look tinged with wariness. "...Yeah?" he mewed. "About what?"

"Well..." Lightstorm ducked under a fern as he thought of how to word his question without offending the deputy. Robinflight moved around it. "...is it difficult, being so young and serving as one of the Clan's deputies?" Robinflight added a scent marker of his own to the border as he tried to come up with an honest answer.

"At times," he mewed slowly, "it's like I've got a mountain's weight of expectations on my shoulders. There will always be cats who say I'm too young - that I wasn't the best choice. That Shadowsoul was wrong to give such a responsibility to me." He paused, stepping over a bramble's thorny tendril. "But I'm told I do a good job, and I always try my hardest. And in the end, I suppose that's all I can do. Just do my best and hope my best is good enough to prove that I can do this." Robinflight stopped talking, embarrassment flooding through him. He hadn't meant to say that much...but Lightstorm's amber eyes were understanding and sympathetic.

"I see," the white warrior meowed. He was quiet for a moment, setting the next marker. "You know, Robinflight...you can always come to the senior warriors if you need advice." The gray tabby looked down. "I know," he mewed. "And I appreciate that they're so willing to help." He lifted his head, meeting the older cat's eyes. "It's good to know some cats have got my back."

Lightstorm gave him a friendly nudge. "You kidding? You've probably got most of the Clan behind you. If not because you're deputy, then because you do such a good job of being deputy. And if any cats says otherwise...well, they've got Shadowsoul's reasoning to stand up to, don't they? He's the one who named you his deputy - so I suppose if they question your position, they question him. I doubt many cats would be able to look our leader in the eye and state their reasons without stuttering or looking away." He cocked his head thoughtfully. "In a way...I suppose he's like Shadowstar. One of ThunderClan's former leaders," he explained, seeing the question in Robinflight's eyes. "She was respected by quite a few cats. One of our better examples of leadership."

"Yeah...I guess you're right," Robinflight meowed. "I can't see myself as being like him...if I become a leader." Lightstorm frowned at him. "Why's that?" he asked. "You're already a deputy to be proud of. Who says you can't do things the way you do them now when you're leader?" Robinflight swallowed.

"That's just it - I don't know if the way I do things is the right way. Shadowsoul told me I do a good job, but what do other cats think?" The young deputy searched Lightstorm's gaze almost desperately. "Well, I can't tell you what our Clanmates think," Lightstorm mewed. "I'm not a mind reader," he added with a chuckle. "But...I can tell you what I think. And I think you do just fine. You're bound to make mistakes - no cat is perfect. But when - not if - you do, I'm sure no cat will look down on you for it. You can bet every deputy in Clan history has made mistakes. You'll be no different from the rest."

Wraith walked onwards silently, preffering to enjoy his surroundings until they reached the stream. the chirping of birds was getting rarer...a sign leaf bare was almost here. instead, a flurry of gold, red, orange and brown and the soothing rustle of dry leaves was what greeted those who watched for the voices of the wilderness around them...it was simple things like this that made life worth living for Wraith before he rediscovered life as a clan cat...

Nightclaw yawned as he got up, stretching hils limbs, muscles rippling across the lean black tom's frame. he flexed his claws and snapped his jaws to get rid of the dull, faint stiff feeling that seemed to come with sleep. considering his options, he began to think over whether to eat, drink, or just walk around the camp first...perhaps even pay a visit to Demontalon....

Demontalon's jaws stretched open in a yawn. She was tired - but she knew that if she tried to sleep she'd just end up wandering back out here. Better to think out here than to be shifting in her nest, and run the risk of waking Cloudhaze.

Firestreak yawned. Positioned once again in the tree, the gray tom thought it best to avoid sleeping in a den, despite the chill of night. Once again he was seeing the camp from above, spotting the few cats that were awake at such an hour. He was tempted to mingle with the clan members...try to find any interesting happenings in the camp, mostly out of boredom...

"Its almost like the forrest speaks to you" Snowstar mewed, glancing back to see Wraith looking at the scenery. "Listen" He mewed as a gentle breeze blew through, rattling dried up leaves. The combined sound of them all resonated in the cold morning air. A few leaves spiralled down to the ground, landing around the cats. "Pretty soon this will all be white... I hope you'll still be able to see me..." The old tom mewed, chuckling

Wraith chuckled. "I've seen my fair share of white cats in leaf bare. i'll manage" he meowed with a smirk. "Believe it or not, the sounds of the forest were more or less all that was keeping me alive, at one point"...

Nightclaw walked out of the den, glancing towards the medicine den, catching sight of Demontalon. Suppose that answers that question he thought, his decision on what to do first decided for him. he began to walk towards the she-cat, fur bristled slightly because of the sudden exposure to the wind....it was much chillier out here in the draft...

Demontalon wrapped her tail over her paws and yawned again. She was doing her best not to look too tired - didn't want to be told she should go and get some more rest. Spotting Nightclaw, she nodded a greeting and lifted one paw, giving it a lick and starting to groom her ears.

"Feeling's mutual" Snowstar mewed, remembering the days when he was a loner...

The gray tom came to the dull silver jaws that were partially covered with the falling leaves. Now that he had an idea where the traps were, Fogcloud's task got a little easier. He now had to find out how to spring the trap. At a glance, it was obvious that something was meant to step into it. So natrually, if he could hit that spot inside, the jaws should snap shut and render the trap useless. Smirking, Fogcloud looked about for a tool he could use. Fairly big rock near by seemed promising. Fogcloud walked over to it and began batting it towards the steel jaws. Placing it just by the trap, Fogcloud looked about for something he could use to slip it in. He caught sight of some twigs lying around a tree. He ran over to the pile of sticks, looking for one long enough. Finding one he was comfortable with, Fogcloud locked his mouth around one end, picking it up and moving back to his rock, which he flipped into the trap. Seconds later, the trap sprung, leaping up out of the pile of leaves, jaws closing with a loud clank. The sudden movement made the tom leap back in suprise, nearly dropping the twig from his mouth. Once he settled, Fogcloud mumbled "Monstrous twolegs..."

"Now....for the reason i wanted to speak to you" growled Wraith after a few moments of silence and several minutes of walking, the stream by this point in sight. "A certain former Deputy has approached me with the hope of returning to the clan" growled the black bengal tom...

"Good sleep?" mewed Nightclaw as he approached Demontalon, yawning again as he neared...

Amber eyes turned to look at the cat, the sun light that passed through the trees glinted off of the one facing the black tom. "I see...this certain cat has had a record of leaving the clan..." Snowstar mewed, knowing who Wraith was talking about almost instantly. "I thought he wandered off after our little talk..."
