"Your a valued cat, Firestreak. All of us former clan cats know that." Snowstar mewed unphased. "But there are new cats in Stormclan, cats who know nothing of you. Cats who would wonder why a strange old tom was welcomed back as a long lost brother after deserting the clan." The tom growled, voice slowly changing from a calm level to an intense address toward the grey tom. "This time Firestreak, you'll have to prove your loyalty to stay with Stormclan- and to show all the new cats who make up our ranks why cats look up to you...myself included" he concluded, voice shifting back as to what it once was. It was true. Even if he wasnt a close friend of the tom while he was still in Thunderclan, the things he'd done warranted respect of all cats, even leaders...

"Ignoring the pointlessness of it all, what do you suppose I do?" Firestreak growled, curious despite his anger...

"On the mountains there's a species of plant that grows, with jagged leaves, like cat mint" Snowstar mewed. "Though it doesnt have the same...mental dulling effect... it has its medicinal purposes...your test is to scale the mountains, get the herb and return to camp. That will convince us of your devotion to the clan" He growled. "Unless you think its too tall a task, which would be strange. After all, Ive heard you fought a bear... doing that and living should make climbing a mountain seem like catching a mouse!"

Firestreak stared at Snowstar with a look of unbelieving surprise. "Just as I was beginning to think Stormclan wasn't all bad...then you had to go and open your mouth." he growled with a shake of his head. "You want me, a veteran of the clan, to scale a mountain...in leafbare..." he growled, making each point very slowly as to aid the white tom in connecting the dots.

"Its a task that suits you." Snowstar mewed callously. "More than nine moons living as a loner, to add to your record as a clan cat; you've been battling time for the longest and apparently, you're winning, Firestreak" The white tom mewed. "In the end, the choice is yours"

"eh. the Clan's strong now. and we have allies. we'll be fine....." meowed Nightclaw in response as he coninued to circle. The tom abruptly flopped onto his side, a wide yawn coming from his mouth as he meowed "You......bore me"...

Demontalon gave him a gentle cuff over one ear, her whiskers twitching. "And you're impossible," she meowed. She sat down, glancing around and letting her gaze settle on Swift. She narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. The young tom was beginning to look as battle scarred as Bloodspill, what with the claw scars over his eye, on his back, and the fact that one of his ears had been torn clean in half in a battle that took place before Demontalon was born. He was tucking neatly into a thrush, looking perfectly at home in the Clan despite spending long periods of time as a rogue.

"I would like to establish that the idea is still suicide for most cats." Firestreak growled, before breathing in heavily. "...but I am not most cats. I accept." he concluded, breathing out. The motivation to accept was very simple...he was bored.

"Go give us another story to pass down to the next generation. Ill be looking forward to your return" Snowstar mewed with a smile. There was no point in saying good luck- or be careful to a cat like Firestreak. To do so would be like telling a cat to breathe...

Wraith watched silently, pleased that Firestreak had accepted. he was confident in the tom's ability to see the trial through to it's end, and return successful. it was simply a matter of waiting. the Leader entered the den, laying in the shadowy corner of it, amber eyes glinting, before closing, the tom seemingly disappearing into the darkness...

Nightclaw looked around, curious as to where the other Warriors were. he spotted a few in various positions around the camp, but no sign of Hawkclaw, Sunclaw or Stormheart...

"Ya ya..." Firestreak growled with a wave of his paw, standing. He might as well start now...Without another word, the gray tom made his way out of the camp, heading in the direction of the mountains...a place he had thought he would never see again.

Snowstar chuckled as he watched the grey cat walk off. He bowed his head. It was strange, talking to Firestreak like that. It was apperant now more than ever that a cat's past with him was null once it concerned the clan and its best interest. Taking a breath, Snowstar turned to enter the camp.

Once he did, he saw Coldeyes still sitting where he was before, surveying the camp. A few more cats were awake now as the sun ascended over the forrest

As Firestreak left the camp, Robinflight and the dawn patrol slipped in. The young gray tabby glanced around, spotting nothing out of the ordinary. "All clear," he meowed to Coldeyes. "There isn't so much as a mouse out there."

Lightstorm padded past the deputies, heading for the warriors den with the intent of finding Hawkclaw and assuming his little sister was still sleeping because he didn't see her in the clearing. He poked his head into the den and caught sight of her right away, curled up with her nose under one paw. He had to smile, even as he stepped to her side and gave her a gentle nudge. "Time to get up, lazypaws," he murmured when tawny eyes opened and blinked a few times as the dark brown and white tabby she-cat recognized who had woken her.

Demontalon stretched out beside Nightclaw, resting her chin on her paws and staring out across the camp. She was thinking about Fogcloud's sudden reappearance - and plea for forgiveness. She wanted to be able to trust him. She wanted to go back to the way things used to be - but too much had changed for that to happen. They had changed too much, and it hurt to admit that to herself. The fur on her shoulders gave a shiver. She closed her eyes until they were just glittering slits of blue and red. Thunderheart was right. She couldn't trust Fogcloud fully just yet. If she got a chance she would try and talk to her former denmate - but she wouldn't spill her heart to him. She wouldn't set herself up for a hard fall and a painful lesson.

"As expected" Coldeyes growled, taking the opportunity to lie down. "There should be less cats trying to get in looking for food then" He mewed. "Still plenty rogues who'd enter to pick a fight though" He added, disgust evident, in his voice. Aside from the fact that his meow was just a quiet thing, boardering on being a growl, the fact the tom is ussually on a short fuse would make it even more alarming...

Robinflight nodded, blue eyes darkening. "Something's going to have to be done about them," he mewed. "Before cats get hurt, or killed."

"The clan is strong enough, and as long as cats dont wander off alone near dusk, then they should be fine" Coldeyes mewed, his expression softening- as much is it could considering the brown pelted cat. Calm now, the deputy growled "It should be amusing...tearing apart the bold cat with mousedung stuffed in its head trying to attack the camp..." a smirk crept onto the tom's face and he closed his eyes, a twisted satasfaction evident

"You're probably right," Robinflight meowed, allowing his gaze to casually sweep the camp again. Looking for the two Shadowsoul had asked him to keep an eye on. There was one of them...the gray tabby tom, sitting off by himself. After a second or so, Robinflight switched to taking in Nightclaw and Demontalon, hoping he just looked like he was checking that everything was calm.

Lightstorm nudged Hawkclaw out of the den, faintly amused when she yawned widely. "You know, when I said 'find something to do', I didn't mean 'knock yourself out'," he teased, ducking under the swipe she aimed at his ear with a chuckle. "Be quiet," Hawkclaw mewed, stifling another yawn. He padded at her shoulder to the fresh-kill pile, sitting beside her when she settled to eat her mouse. He'd eaten before heading out with the patrol.

"Well Im glad we had this chat" Coldeyes mewed, getting back to his paws and heading off to the fresh kill pile.

Fogcloud sat at the edge of the large black streak that cut through the forrest. At the Thunderpath, he thought over what he had done. He'd cleared up a lot of traps scattered about Stormclan's turf, now it was time to head over to the former Thunderclan territory. He tried his best not to think about what happened the day before, with Demontalon turning her back on him. It hurt, as he thought it was an obvious sign she didnt care about him anymore. "What else could you expect? You've been gone for ages, she's moved on, you should too" He mewed, eyes panning down the path, waiting for the different colored monsters to pass. "She probably feels for someone else....I wish her well." The growling of the monsters ceased as there was a break in traffic. Fogcloud took his chance and sped across, passing the segmented yellow strips and then back onto the familar dirt floor. "I just hope I didnt break her heart...again..."

Robinflight padded to his usual place, sitting down at the base of the tree and scanning the camp again, looking for the second loner as he did so.

Before long, Firestreak found himself once again leaving the territory of Stormclan. He knew the rogue territory better then he knew the clan's...navigation through it should be uneventful, especially at such an early time. The gray tom kept his pace swift, but constant, knowing he had quite the journey ahead of him...
