Valentino pulled a pistol out from under his desk, a Desert Eagle, silver with golden trim and a dark, rosewood grip. "Say hello to mine" he said as he opened fire, each heavy .50 caliber shot blasting the small bot back as the Don stood behind the cover of the Desk...it was a good thing this building was mostly soundproof...

The assassin bot was thrown to the ground, sparks searing out of the bullet hole. The machine managed to roll over, internal heli blade whistleing into life. The damaged drone hovered up into the air, one of its arms hanging loosely, obviously out of order, a smokeing hole in its shoulder where its ammo cache had exploded. A small rectangular blade slid out of its right hand, dual thrusters poping out of the its ring like body. With a small thud, the droid burst foreward towards valentino, arm out stretched as if it was trying to lance him....

Valentino stared at the droid amusedly as he raised his Deagle to blow it to bits, when suddenly, the unmistakable boom of a shotgun was heard and the bot was sent flying across the room and into a wall, Rick walking in with a Spaz 12 in his hands, Tony behind him. "Huntin' season" said Rick as he saw the bot slid down to the floor. "You OK, boss?" he said, eying Valentino from behind his shades. "I'm fine...apart from the bullet holes in my brand new suit which will be repaired with this month's salary from all three of you for not arriving immediately" said Valentino as he put the Deagle in a shoulder holster under his suit jacket, straightening his tie. "Sorry for the delay, boss. took us by surprise. for some reason, sensors apparently weren't installed on the roof". "Well contact the Security Department and enquire. i want the guy responsible for that here in an hour" said Valentino. "Right away, sir" said Rick as he turned to go. "No. you stay. have the other two go" said Valentino. Mike and Tony walked out of the office while Rick stood at the door, watching for anyone trying to sneak into the office...

Kevin, now in a white elbow long sleeved shirt and black jeans walked down the city streets. He securly hid his bass rfile in his closet. It was so messy that Kevin mother, Sandra, gave up on him to clean it up. No one bothered going in there any more, except Kevin, of coarse. The young hero turned the coer of the street, passing a vine covered building made out of bricks. He walked down the obviously aged building. He passed a trash can by the building's wall, just before Kevin passed a clothing store, the wall being a large showcase with a gap in it for the door. Randomly, the trash can toppled over with a clang and the rattle of cans and other garbage. Kevin spun around and eyed the .trash can before slowly turning around and walked away, slowly, it turned into a jog. A man in a black cybernetic suit with a mask over his face with green circles where his eyes would be. He wore gray gloves and shoes and a silver belt with a transperant buckle where two halos spun in opposite directions around a yellow orb. He ran up the wall of the department store and jumped to onto the roof. He ran across it and jumped over to the next building. He landed with a sound thud and walked to the roof's edge, hopping off it and slamming his hands onto the 2 walls of the alley way and slid down slowly. When he reached the ground, he began walking towards the street. Punches landed with thuds and a round house kick knocked the person back. Kevin reapeared, having been invisable and waiting in ambush incase he was being followed. Kevin walked over to the down person, who took off his mask and said "Wait, Kevin, listen, Im you, from the future

The man walked along, his slowly healing wounds covered up by a large coat, walking along like a normal citizen, hoping to take his annoyingly fearful targets by surprise, to end it before they had a chance to run...again. Humming to himself, the man continued on, trying to find some trace in which he could find one of the target...

kevin asked "Lemme get this straight. So, you come from a time where the Earth is owned by some girl, that used her mutant powers, alone with her place in politics to...turn the world into a unoted millitary dictatorship!?" The adult Kevin said "Correct" Kevin asked "And your me...from the future, and you let me know that your from the future, so that would make some crazy worm hole thing, wouldnt it?" The future Kevin said "No, I didnt reveal anything about the future other than it's ruled by a dictator that was once your friend, Craven" Kevin said sarcastically "Ok, so you want to prevent my perfectly busy bodied friend to not take over the world? Fine by me. Oh, and whoever told you about me, tell him and or her that im flattered that they notice me, but...if they know this from stalking...well, its creepy." The man from the "future" said "I remember my constant sarcasm when not believing some one. Grew out of it, and so will you" Kevin said "Uh, no I wont, cause your not me, tell me something that I never told anyone, you cant, and so I leave" Kevin began walking when the man said "When we were 5, we had a stuffed pig. We loved that pig, but it fell into the garbage disposal and we spent weeks crying in our room" Kevin stopped walking and turned around. "What, exactly, are Craven's powers?"

Gloved fingers flexed as Yoruichi entered the house nervously, looking around warily. She could feel herself losing herself in memory, and she pressed a hand to her forehead to ease the dull ache that was beginning to pound at her skull.

A nine-year-old Yoruichi was running towards a young woman, who looked almost exactly like her, except for the fact that her hair was golden and her eyes were chocolate brown. "Mom!" the younger Yoruichi called, stretching out her arms to hug the woman. The blonde female turned, her eyes shining happily as she embraced her daughter. "Yoruichi..." she whispered, stroking the child's long black locks lovingly. Not at all like the way Yoruichi's father would strike her, yell at her. Yoruichi felt a quiver of delight at knowing someone loved her.

The memory changed, forcing Yoruichi to use her other hand to brace herself against a wall, the sudden rush of memories making her slightly dizzy.

Yoruichi was now thirteen years old. She was kneeling on the floor, her eyes wide and staring--a glowing, vivid green. Her wings were lying limply at her sides, the ivory talons gleaming cruelly. In her hands was a gun that her father had turned on her the moment she let a flicker of her powers show. In a drunken rage, he had pulled the gun out of a drawer and aimed it at her forehead. She wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but now the gun was in her hands. And her father was lying dead, a bullet hole in his chest and a huge gash on his cheek, not ten feet from her. "Yoruichi," a soft voice whispered. The teen turned, her eyes fading back to red, but her wings not disappearing. One of her old friends, a boy named Raito, stepped towards her. A moment later, she was sobbing into his chest, and he was holding her comfortingly. "It's not your fault," Raito whispered. "It's mine. I'm sorry, Yoruichi..."

Yoruichi began to recover from the flashbacks, shaking slightly. She attempted to control herself. Her mother...her father...her friend...they were all dead because of her. And many more had nearly died because she was so...so...weak. So pathetic. She could barely fight...she'd been taught through abuse that to talk back, to fight back, was wrong. And now everyone she knew was suffering because of her mistakes.

"I was wondering where you'd been" said a familiar voice behind Yoruichi as sand seemed to collect in one place, his body constructing itself from the head down to his feet. he crossed his arms, eying the girl he had last seen in dangerous condition...she managed herself well, considering the magnitude of the attempt on her life...

Yoruichi turned, the corners of her mouth curving upward into a slight smile as she recognised the visitor. She lowered the hand on her forehead to allow it to rest at her side. "And I you," she said. "Nice to see you again."

"Nice to be seen" said Gaara as he walked forward. "I take it this place holds some...significance to you? childhood memories, perhaps?" he said...

"It looks almost exactly like my childhood home," Yoruichi murmured, allowing her gaze to flicker around the room. "The only things missing are the broken beer bottles and the blood splattered everywhere." She laughed, but it was dry and humorless.

Gaara grunted. "I take it there's been no trouble since that guy died?" he said calmly, looking out of one of the windows into the lit streets outside, the darkness of the building itself draping him in shadows as well as beams of light, one beam going over his eye, the black ring around it accentuating the bright greenish blue, pupilless eye itself, a swirl of different feelings detectable in them, from malevolent rage, to cold heartless hatred, to care and hope...

The young teen shook her head. "No," she replied. "And hopefully it'll stay this way for a while..." Because I don't think my body can take another beating like that, she added mentally. Her gaze returned to Gaara's face, the red orbs studying his expression with something close to curiosity.

"Good" said Gaara simply in response. when he noticed her staring at him, he looked her in the eyes. "What?" he said somewhat confused as to her focus...

Yoruichi cocked her head, still giving him that curious look. "I never was able to understand why others were willing to put their lives on the line for someone like me," she admitted. "First Raito...and now the other demons and you. Why?"

Gaara looked at the girl as if she had asked the silliest question in the world, his face turning blank slowly as he said "Because you and i both suffer the same pain. we have both lost our families. and now, we both suffer the pain of being seen as different in the eyes of society. and yet, neither of us could ever truely try and ACT normally in that society, because this is something we've grown with"...

The corner of the demon-child's mouth twitched in amusement at the look the man gave her. "I see." She lifted one hand to scratch an itch on her jaw, her gaze once more taking in the room. Just picturing the similar room's carpet drenched in blood, an empty beer bottle tipped over and leaking its contents everywhere, was enough to make the old scars on her back burn a bit. Almost unaware of her actions, she lowered the hand that was resting on her neck and allowed her fingers to brush against a particularly thick scar on her shoulder through the fabric of her white shirt. I wonder...who my father would be today, if he'd been a better man, she thought.

Gaara looked over at Yoruichi, saying "So exactly what significance does this place hold to you?"...

Yoruichi paused, her fingers lingering over the scar. "It looks so much like home," she replied after a moment, "that it's caused memories to resurface. Memories that I'd like to be able to forget...but never will," she added as an afterthought, allowing her hand to fall to her side.
