Blade sighed, relieved at Alira's response. "You have no idea how much it comforts me to hear you say that......ever since then i worried that you might begrudge the action...that you might hate me for it" he growled as he looked at the female....
Crusher yawned widely. he had insured his daughter was safe and sound. her friend had been given a comfortable spot deep inside the territory, way from the dangers of the borders and within easy reach if Serena wanted to contact her. now that that incident had been dealt with, and the border markers reinforced, and food around for the whole family, the Patriarch saw two options ahead of him. sleep, or explore. he had never been a lazy creature, even as a several hour old chick. he had been especially energetic since he had hatched so many years ago, and he had no intention to develop the habit of laziness now. Rampage nuzzled him as she caught the thoughtful look in his gaze, and growled "I knew i could trust you to bring her back. Just as brilliant as you were when i met you". Crusher chuckled. "Well, I'd hardly let my own flesh and blood roam around in dangerous territory after what i went through to keep everyone safe....not to mention i couldn't bare to see you upset" he growled. Rampage smiled, Crusher nuzzling his mate before growling "But now that's over and done with, i'm going to explore a bit. i want to see the extent of what this new home has to offer. who knows, maybe there's something better out there than what we have. if there's anything especially good we may move territory". Rampage nodded. "Good luck then. I'll take care of the territory while you're gone. We'll make sure everything's in order when you get back. just so you know, Fatalis is out there, and apparently he's starting a pack" she growled. "I know. hard to believe, isn't it?" responded Crusher. "You're telling me? i can remember him running all over the island taunting predators left and right. it'll be hard getting a pack that can keep up with a pace like that" answered Rampage with a laugh. "From what i can see, he's actually looking for less experienced Raptors. ones that have trouble taking care of themselves. I'd guess he's planning to take them under his wing, so to speak. i can imagine a pack full of his own students would be far more loyal than a pack of self sufficient loners....he's building the pack to last" growled Crusher. "Perhaps" responded Rampage. "give him our regards if you see him" chimed in a resting Lightning, Hunter asleep at her side, curled around her, Serena curled against Lightning's throat in the nest, exhausted by the ordeal...
The Deinonychus tore at the Pachy corpse viciously, hungry from his numerous unsuccessful hunts. he was rarely this bad. he couldn't even remember the last time he had failed in three consecutive hunts. ever since Aircrest left, he had spent alot of time thinking about his life, reflecting over the events that had led to where he was now, as well as where he was before. he had walked the paths of madness, followed opinions born of chaos, and had done to others what had been done to him, with and without his knowledge. he knew the path ahead would be a difficult one. but Ripper was right. His mentor had given him one final gift. a new beginning, and a grave warning. you want to end up like me? close to your end with no legacy to speak of? whatever disappointment you may have with life now...it'll be worsened tenfold...if you let yourself stay that way until you're as old as i am. he shuddered at the memory of the words. he had never seen Ripper so furious with him as he had then, and he knew it was hardly the worst. He doubted anyone truly knew the fury of the Elder Raptor. he had recently visited, informing him of his friend Aircrest's regret at leaving, though secretly, that was a fact Hellfire already knew. he had Aircrest figured out. it wasn't hard to guess what had happened. still, the last meeting he had with Ripper hadn't seemed like a meeting. it was as if something had gone from the Elder's presence during that visit. whether it was his will to be there, or perhaps that his thoughts were already gone ahead of him, or something else entirely, Hellfire couldn't tell. he regretted not voicing his gratitude to his mentor...though every now and again, his quills would stand on end as he felt as though he were being watched.....and that was just the times he sensed the presence...

"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
