"I don't know what you're worrying about. Not even their leader stood a chance! What possible threat could they pose now?" Zheja growled, Amethyst shaking her head. "Because what we fought wasn't their entire pack. Have you ever been attacked by an entire pack? Trust me, it isn't a fun experience." she growled, glaring at the black and white raptor to stop any further disagreement he might've had. "Just hope they don't find us. We should be able to stay here a few days, at least." she continued, looking around the human cave. Amberstripe was fast asleep on one of the cushioned objects, while Axle and Tyreal were on the floor above, examining various objects they found interesting. Occasionally one would hear a loud crash or thump, then hear the sound of arguing snarls. Amethyst only hoped they left some of the cave intact. Zheja, still believing they could now relax, was sitting near their leader, staring out one of the clear walls, a small patch of grass existing behind the cave...a rare thing, it seemed, even with most of the city overgrown.

"I remember the human place. My old pack's territory wasn't too far from that area... Interesting place to call home. I never knew anyone willingly stayed there," she mused, pausing momentarily, gaze drifting through the trees, before hissing, "Wish I could've found another pack of my own kind when I first got here so I wouldn't have had to suffer through teaching myself to live alone, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen..."

"I cant really give you any advice there...since I like living alone... but I do know this; the lessons you learn yourself last longer than anything anyone can teach you." Aircrest growled, looking up as he thought. "I guess thats why Ripper let me go, to learn how to survive on my own, using the skills he gave me..." Inwardly, he growled "I finally understand that now... guess Ive learned a bit since then, huh Ripper?"

Shredder slowly opened one eye, finding himself laying flat on a hard, grey area of land. It felt as though he were waking up from a million year old coma, and that everything was happening to him in third person. He lifted his head, and found himself looking at a bright light, his eyes watering. He blinked and looked away from the sun, testing his senses, examining his surroundings. He closed his eyes and shook his head, trying to clear it of the torrent of memories that was flooding through it. He unsuccessfully tried to sort through them, attempting to figure out the more recent of them, and the more important. He looked around directly next to him, finding fallen debris and rubble. He remembered a flash of color, and everything going black.
He looked up, and saw a crumbling, tall structure, with clear squares. This is a human building, he thought vaguely. Then it hit him. He had been transported here by them!
He wondered where the rest were, and decided to go looking around. He still couldn't remember much of what had happened, or what was going on...
Clarity of thought before rashness of action...

The Lili's head tilted slightly as she let that sink in, the raptor's words making her realize for the first time that her separation from the pack might have, in a way, been a good thing. It had allowed her to sharpen skills she otherwise wouldn't have used, and seemed to have hardened the Lili to the point where she could function without seeking backup. "Ripper knows what he's doing..." she hissed quietly. "I think I've probably learned almost as much in my time here as I did back on the island... It hasn't been fun, but on the bright side, at least now I'm not so vulnerable." The green Lili nearly rolled her eyes at the memory of how nervous and helpless she'd been for so long, even with friends around...

"See? Its all instinct" Aircrest barked. "It takes work learning how to live...dying's easy. You gotta keep up the fight until you cant anymore, and sometimes you gotta fight on your own" The raptor paused, stunned by his own words. He never expected himself to be saying that...ussually he's the one being told fancy philosophies. It was strange, but he pushed the thought back. Perhaps it was just him growing up.

Blade sighed, relieved at Alira's response. "You have no idea how much it comforts me to hear you say that......ever since then i worried that you might begrudge the action...that you might hate me for it" he growled as he looked at the female....

Crusher yawned widely. he had insured his daughter was safe and sound. her friend had been given a comfortable spot deep inside the territory, way from the dangers of the borders and within easy reach if Serena wanted to contact her. now that that incident had been dealt with, and the border markers reinforced, and food around for the whole family, the Patriarch saw two options ahead of him. sleep, or explore. he had never been a lazy creature, even as a several hour old chick. he had been especially energetic since he had hatched so many years ago, and he had no intention to develop the habit of laziness now. Rampage nuzzled him as she caught the thoughtful look in his gaze, and growled "I knew i could trust you to bring her back. Just as brilliant as you were when i met you". Crusher chuckled. "Well, I'd hardly let my own flesh and blood roam around in dangerous territory after what i went through to keep everyone safe....not to mention i couldn't bare to see you upset" he growled. Rampage smiled, Crusher nuzzling his mate before growling "But now that's over and done with, i'm going to explore a bit. i want to see the extent of what this new home has to offer. who knows, maybe there's something better out there than what we have. if there's anything especially good we may move territory". Rampage nodded. "Good luck then. I'll take care of the territory while you're gone. We'll make sure everything's in order when you get back. just so you know, Fatalis is out there, and apparently he's starting a pack" she growled. "I know. hard to believe, isn't it?" responded Crusher. "You're telling me? i can remember him running all over the island taunting predators left and right. it'll be hard getting a pack that can keep up with a pace like that" answered Rampage with a laugh. "From what i can see, he's actually looking for less experienced Raptors. ones that have trouble taking care of themselves. I'd guess he's planning to take them under his wing, so to speak. i can imagine a pack full of his own students would be far more loyal than a pack of self sufficient loners....he's building the pack to last" growled Crusher. "Perhaps" responded Rampage. "give him our regards if you see him" chimed in a resting Lightning, Hunter asleep at her side, curled around her, Serena curled against Lightning's throat in the nest, exhausted by the ordeal...

The Deinonychus tore at the Pachy corpse viciously, hungry from his numerous unsuccessful hunts. he was rarely this bad. he couldn't even remember the last time he had failed in three consecutive hunts. ever since Aircrest left, he had spent alot of time thinking about his life, reflecting over the events that had led to where he was now, as well as where he was before. he had walked the paths of madness, followed opinions born of chaos, and had done to others what had been done to him, with and without his knowledge. he knew the path ahead would be a difficult one. but Ripper was right. His mentor had given him one final gift. a new beginning, and a grave warning. you want to end up like me? close to your end with no legacy to speak of? whatever disappointment you may have with life now...it'll be worsened tenfold...if you let yourself stay that way until you're as old as i am. he shuddered at the memory of the words. he had never seen Ripper so furious with him as he had then, and he knew it was hardly the worst. He doubted anyone truly knew the fury of the Elder Raptor. he had recently visited, informing him of his friend Aircrest's regret at leaving, though secretly, that was a fact Hellfire already knew. he had Aircrest figured out. it wasn't hard to guess what had happened. still, the last meeting he had with Ripper hadn't seemed like a meeting. it was as if something had gone from the Elder's presence during that visit. whether it was his will to be there, or perhaps that his thoughts were already gone ahead of him, or something else entirely, Hellfire couldn't tell. he regretted not voicing his gratitude to his mentor...though every now and again, his quills would stand on end as he felt as though he were being watched.....and that was just the times he sensed the presence...

Switchblade started to open her mouth, but was momentarily lost for words. Whether those were the words of Aircrest or his mentor, she knew they spoke the truth. The Lili also knew she had been avoiding the truth for a good portion of her life, too afraid to face it head on. That was back when she thought she'd never have to be completely self-reliant. But life had turned around and proven her wrong. Eventually she hissed slowly, "You're... right." The Lili's somewhat distant gaze dropped to the tree trunks in front of her, though her attention wasn't on their surroundings. "I never really understood that... just... ignored it out of fear I guess... thinking I'd never be alone..." A small smile spread across her maw. "Guess I had more to learn than I thought..."

"The sooner you accept it, the better" Aircrest growled. "Because after you do, you can only get stronger after" He added, facing the liliensternus. "But it doesnt mean that you have to be alone. Over the years, of all the creatures Ive met...Ive learned that walking alone is your own choice. Im sure you'll find kindred hearts in time" He smiled. "Glad to have met you, Switchblade. Good luck" He barked, turning back around and walking off into the underbrush. He never expected himself to be giving advice like that. He shook his head. He planned to explore this new land. There was still a lot of ground to cover. Whether he did it on his own or with company was Switchblade's decision...

"Hate you?" Alira growled, surprised. "No. Had we not been captured, what would the odds of us running into each other again have been?" She shook her head. "It would've been pointless to hold a grudge. And besides...after I had a bit of time to think on it, I realized that death was probably the only fate for him. He'd have had me hunted down...it would have come to a fight anyway. It was for the best."

"Well....I don't really know what to say....though i'm at least glad i could save you the discomfort of fighting your own flesh and blood..." growled Blade, head down, his thoughts and feelings over the matter in chaos...

The raptor moved through the over growth, eyes passing back and fourth as he meticulously observed his enviroment. From the creeping shadows that slid over the urban decay, the raptor could tell night fall wasnt too far off. A breeze blew and the trees sounded off with a loud rattle as the leaves fluttered. Maybe he'd find a place to spend the night, and go wandering once he had the light of the dawn sun...

"Thanks... you too..." the Lili hissed just before the raptor slipped into the vegetation. She nearly inquired about where he was headed, but hesitated, then decided she'd continue on her own way. The raptor's words seemed to have given her renewed hope... maybe she would find the pack again someday. Until then, she'd make the best of life as a loner. The Lili then turned and pushed through the undergrowth, orange spots of late evening sunlight that filtered through the leaves flicking across her green hide. She could detect a few mixed scents in the area and wanted to find a place where the scents were weaker. The last thing the lone Lili wanted was to pick a resting spot in the middle of something's territory...

During her walk away from where she had met Aircrest, Switchblade nearly tripped over a large scaly-looking log. Only it wasn't a log. Two orifices blasted steamy breath as the strange thing snorted, revealing itself to be the snout of a sleeping Spinosaurus, specifically Bloodsail...

Alira let out a quiet sigh. "You shouldn't have had to," she muttered, some of her old anger at herself for being so weak waking again. She shook her head to get rid of it. "Regardless, thank you. I suppose I should ask how I can repay you."

Switchblade stumbled a bit as she tried not to step on whatever was at her feet. Upon regaining her balance she turned around to look down at it, her amber eyes growing steadily wider as they ran along the shape, up to a large dark red projection that could only be the sail of a Spinosaur. The Lili felt her jaw go slightly slack. She began slowly, tensely edging backwards, trying to make as little sound as possible, though that was difficult amid all the low-growing plants and leaf litter...

Bloodsail grumbled and shifted his immense body, shaking the surrounding undergrowth violently but mostly masking any sounds Switchblade made for a few moments...

The Lili flinched, but quickly turned around and hopped behind some thicker foliage, quickly lowering herself below its level, as she'd done when trying to avoid Aircrest. And we saw how well that worked... she thought, recalling how quickly the raptor had spotted her. She slowed again when the rustling died down, suddenly realizing that, even if she kept her noise level down, she still couldn't mask her scent. This notion pushed her to go faster, in hopes that her scent wouldn't collect in the area too much...

Bloodsail grumbled again, baring his fangs as he snarled at something, probably a dream. The Spinosaurus' tail lashed, thumping the ground hard and rocking the earth beneath Switchblade's feet, but the big carnivore still didn't wake up...

Tensing at every sound, Switchblade upped her pace slightly to just above a slow walk, still in a half-crouch and steadily gaining distance from the gigantic predator. If she could continue like this for a few more minutes, she might actually make it to a safe distance and be able to continue on with her initial plans... though the Lili wasn't going to get her hopes up yet. She wasn't sure what she could do if the Spino did wake up... Maybe bolt for the concrete forest in hopes of finding a cave too small for it to fit into? She hoped it wouldn't come to that...
