Another grumble escaped the raptor. Aircrest closed his eyes and took a breath, thinking about something else. It helped him deal with the embarrassment..for a short bit. It ended when Hazel growled "He's told me a lot about you. You mean quite a bit to him-" With that Aircrest barked quickly "So, Selena, how've been?", raising his head slightly to look at his mate. Hazel shook her head a bit, thinking "Well this part of him hasnt changed much at all...too proud or too shy to let his feelings out. You cant keep it all locked inside you, Aircrest... we've seen where that left you" A hint of worry crept into her being at the thought, but she quickly pushed it aside..

Blackscale stopped, now picking up the scent of a lone raptor. the rex swerved around to face the scent, trying to judge how far away the raptor was. She knew that alone, Raptors posed no threat whatsoever to a Tyrannosaur, but a pack of them were nusiances, and sh ehad heard tales of crazy raptors leaping from trees onto other large carnivores, ticking them off for their own amusment... She would have to be prepared for anything...

[Evil Eye]

Renegade smirked as the trex wheeled around to face his general direction. He sneaked forward, letting himself become visible to the rex for a moment, before slipping back into the relative cover of the trees again...

"As well as can be expected," Selena growled, hiding her amusenen with a brief incline of her head. "And yourself?"

[C S]

"Pretty well all things considered... Im still living" Aircrest growled, humor in his voice. "Thats testiment in my eyes, no?" He asked as he shifted again, glad that the subject was changed.

[Pyronychus]

The twin raptors looked slightly unsure for a moment, Sylicora taking another deep sniff of air, trying to somehow get more out of it. "Uh... I can't really make out much other than what Howler said," she hissed, her brother nodding, indicating he had come to the same conclusion.

[The Kingpin]

Fatalis smiled. "Doesn't really matter. just wanted to know what you could tell from the scents. generally all you need to know is that it's a Rex and that Rexes are territorial...and they hurt. extra info is generally just a bonus. good for tactical purposes for Raptors who like to bug things like that" growled the Raptor with a chuckle. "Would you like to know what i can tell you from the scents?"...

[Pyronychus]

Sylicora flicked Rhojis a quick sidelong glance before both raptors nodded. Neither had any idea what more you could tell about a creature from its scent alone...

[The Kingpin]

Fatalis smirked. "Well. the obvious is that it's a Rex, and that it likely has a territory nearby. It's a female. alone. isn't mated and probably isn't too bothered with looking. my guess is the kill is a Torosaurus. probably young adult or elderly if you take into account the Rex is alone" he growled. checking the scent more carefully, he added "It was probably killed today, or yesterday. fresh"...




an explosion of sound shattered the silence of the area as Crusher exploded from the trees, slamming his jaws shut on the anatotitan, which he had successfully managed to conceal his presence from till the last moment, lunging out and slamming his jaws on it's head just as it's eyes widened and chest expanded with a breath with hopes of sounding an alarm. the herd went into a panicked stampede away from the area, hoots and honks of warning exchanged between them as they tried to get away from the monsterous ambush predator that had just taken down one of their own, Crusher's jaws pushing the massive herbivore down to the ground, before twisting slightly, nudging it over, the fall twisting the neck, resulting in the head being torn off completely in Crusher's jaws, the Rex dropping the head and putting a foot on the large hadrosaur's flank, before unleashing a booming roar that echoed for miles in the suburban area around him. the Rex looked down at the kill, pleased with his handiwork, lunging forward, massive fanged jaws clamping shut on one of the herbivore's flank, tearing out a massive chunk of flesh, easily twice the size of the average person, thrashing slightly before gulping it down, a satisfied, rumbling growl coming from the predator as he proceeded to satisfy his hunger...

[Hopeflower]

Selena laughed softly. "I find it hard to believe that you're not bouncing around, annoying the bigger predators arounf here," she growled, a teasing tone accompanying her words.

Aircrest suddenly fell silent "Dont tempt me..." Aircrest growled after his short pause, trying to make it sound like a joke, but it ultimately came out dry. He thought back to what Hazel told him. He started wondering about the subject. Selena seemed to have accepted his past time... but was she really ok with it? Hazel growled in his defense "I guess he's a little tired", not wanting the change in tone to worry his mate.

The mutant look-alike cocked her head and looked at the tan female for a few long seconds. She'd caught the change in her mate's tone and was slightly unnerved by it. She finally growled, "Who wouldn't be, after what we've been through?"

[C S]

"I wouldnt kn-" Hazel growled before Aircrest interjected. "Im not tired" He growled as he shifted once more in the grass, the grass bending and rustling to follow his movement. He had swung his body about so he was looking at the gray female from the front and not the side as he had been, thinking that the seriousness of the conversation warranted it. "Can I ask you something?" He growled, gesturing to the grassy bed that his movement had made, wanting her to be a little closer for their talk

"Sure," Selena replied, puzzled as she moved to settle beside Aircrest. "What is it?"

[C S]

"Are you really ok? With my... hobbies, that is" Aircrest growled, eager for the answer...

[Hopeflower]

Selena thought about her answer, turning over each word in her mind before she spoke them. Her tone was thoughtful when she finally growled, "I won't ask you to stop doing something that you enjoy. All I ask is that you be careful." One corner of her mouth turned up in a small smile as she added, "I rather like having you around."

[C S]

Aircrest thought about what he heard, eyes looking down to the greenery he was laying on. He growled "You mean... a lot more to me than having fun...I wont do it if it makes you worry,or if it means dying because I made a mistake" He looked back up at his mate, blinking a few times. "I...well... love you, I guess" He added, cocking his head. This would be the first time Aircrest actually said that.

[Hopeflower]

"You guess?" Selena teased, though the words meant a lot to her. She showed it by leaning over to rest her head against his briefly. "I love you too," she added more quietly.

[C S]

"Im not good with words...not those types of words, you know that" Aircrest growled, feeling relief. "But... I love you. A lot" He growled with certainty, smiling. He returned the gesture, closing his eyes and enjoying the time he and Selena had together, where they werent just running around

Hazel had found her own spot to lay in as the skies darkened. She took refuge under a tree a few feet back from her brother and his mate. She had curled up amongst the roots of the plant, staring off into the lake waters for a few moments, before her eyes closed and she dozed off

Selena let out a content purr, drinking in the male's familiar scent.

Alira, deciding to rest for a while, turned and headed for a tree with gnarled, wide-spread roots. She curled up in between two of them, not closing her eyes just yet.
