"Umm, the sun?!" Nyx said. She flinched at the very sight of it, though she did long to feel its rays on her skin again.

"Do you really think i'd suggest it if it wasn't perfectly safe? the whole thing we went through yesterday from the moment i gave you that drink, all the way until we slept...it wasn't just for the hell of it. now, why don't we walk? i'll explain while we go" said Drake with a smile as he stood up, reaching a hand for Nyx as encouragement...

Nyx smiled and took his hand, standing up. "Well, you can't necessarily blame me, I've been vulnerable to sunlight for centuries," she said.

"All the more reason for you to start enjoying the end of that vulnerability" said Drake as he led Nyx out the door, heading for the nearby lake, to make sure they got the best view possible of the sunrise. "What went on last night was the Dhampir's equivelant of a Blood Bond, in terms of how it starts. it's only been done a few times in history since it was actually made. what it does is severs former Vampiric bonds, like Blood Bonds, for the Vampire that goes through it. Anything Siete had to use against you in that regard, ended yesterday. it's granted you some of my powers, including complete immunity to sunlight, technically turning YOU into a Dhampir much like a Vampire can turn humans into other Vampires. you have some of my Dhampiric traits...the ability to slow down time to a greater degree than you normally could, and a few other things" he added as he put an arm around Nyx's waist as he finally reached the lake, facing east as the glow of the sun began to light up the horizon...

Nyx gasped as she saw the sun creep above the horizon and tried to fight off the instinct to run back into the mansion. "Such as?" she asked. She figured talking to Drake would give her more courage.

Drake raised his arm to Nyx's shoulder, stopping his sentence to say "Relax. enjoy it" before thinking over a few of the other things the ritual had done. "As long as one of us is alive, the other won't die. some of the Dhampir that used it called it soul-sharing, because even if you should be dead...your partner's existence alone will keep you alive...in essence...we live for eachother" he said with a smile as he looked at the sun beginning to rise, the dark orange beams burning the horizon as it reflected off the lake in front of them, producing a beautiful kaleidoscopic image in the water of the sun's fiery light...

Nyx closed her eyes against the sun's light, but she could already feel its warmth against her skin. She gulped slightly and opened her eyes slowly to the sun's glory. "That's amazing," she said, but she didn't even know if she was talking about the sun or Drake's explaination...

Drake smiled. "Memories of a life thought lost, eh?" he said as he gave Nyx a quick peck on the cheek. "I think you deserve it" he said finally. "the bond is unbreakable. Siete can do whatever he likes. starting from yesterday, you're untouchable by him. whatever kind of control he might've had on you in the past, it's gone. and as long as this bond's there...it'll stay that way" he added with a smile...

Nyx smiled happily as the sun's rays hit her skin. Then tears started running down her cheeks. "Your kind are truly amazing," she said. "but none could ever compare to you." She wrapped her arms around Drakes neck. "Thank you so much," she whispered and pressed her lips to his...

Drake took the kiss as his arms reached around Nyx in an embrace in the light of the sunrise, wrapping his arms around her lovingly for several moments before breaking the kiss. "No thanks required. having you here's the only thanks i'll ever need" he said as he wiped the tears from Nyx's cheeks...

Nyx smiled and put her head on his chest. "You're so wonderful, I'm starting to wonder if I deserve you," she said.

[The Kingpin]

"I honestly don't care either way...your happiness is all that matters" said Drake with a smile. "Now, what do you say we have a swim in the sun for once? or are you tired?" he asked, not letting his arms drop from around Nyx, enjoying the moment...

[Shade]

Nyx smiled joyfully. "I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying this right now, a swim in sunlight sounds pretty cool," she said cheerfully.

Drake smiled. "Then again, we COULD just head back to the mansion and have a few drinks and chat then go to bed" he said, throwing in another option. "I'm not particularly sleepy now, but honestly i could do just about anything. don't know what to do though. i just know i want to be with you"...

[Shade]

"2 centuries without sun," Nyx said holding up two fingers fo emphasis. "2 centuries in darkness!" "I want to soak it up!" she said reaching her hands up to the sky.

"In that case, gimme a bit to get a couple of towels and change" said Drake with a smile...

"Ditto," Nyx said and headed toward the mansion.

Diana was walking through the forest in her human form this time. She took a deep breath and exhaled the wonderful scents of the forests. Suddenly she heard a rustling behind her and she turned sharply, ready for a fight. But it wasn't Siete that was tromping through. Her breath caught and she looked at Desh with a heavy heart. "Desh," she whisperd and ran at him. He opened his arms and locked her into a sweet embrace. "Oh Desh, why did you have to leave?" Diana asked tears running down her cheeks. "Shh, it's alright, it's going to be alright," he whispered. "I feel so alone," Diana whispered. "As long as I remain in your thoughts, and in your heart, you will never be alone," Desh said. "Please come back, I need you," Diana said. Desh held tight to her and she held just as tight. He lifted her chin and pressed his lips to her's and the tears were immediately wiped away. "Come back, Desh," she whispered. "Please come back..."

Drake was soon changed, having dumped all but his shirt, his magnum, and his trousers over his small swimming trunks, a couple of towels under each arm. he headed down the stairs, stopping at the door to wait for Nyx to come out...

Nyx was once again dressed in her white and purple butterfly bikini. She walked up to Drake and smiled as her eyes skimmed him up and down. "Lookin' good tigre," she purred.

Drake smiled. "you don't look too bad yourself" he said as he gave her a quick peck on the cheek before opening the door and heading out to the lake...
