The cobra hissed softly as Ira thought about how to word her answer. "It's containing my fire - not letting it do what it wants - that I have trouble with," she said. "Right now, this guy has a mind of his own. I gave him a form. But I have no control over what he does." The cobra coiled loosely around her neck, eyes fixed on the room's occupants.

"hm" responded Gaara, the sand returning, the window looking good as new, though slightly melted onto the frame in places, and opaque. "How's that?" he asked, pointing at the window...

Ira half-smiled. "Almost as good as it was when I moved in." The cobra tightened its coils briefly, and then relaxed with a soft hiss. Ira ran her fingers over its back almost lovingly, and the flames turned to smoke and disappeared. Yoruichi, for lack of anything better to do, morphed back into her wolf form and laid down on the floor. Ira's eyes lingered on the scars lacing her back and narrowed on the thick one that ran from the wolf's right shoulder to cross a few of the others. Those can't be natural, she thought. So where'd she get them?

"hmm...you know, now i'm beginning to regret not keeping one of the assassins alive. bug them and let them run....give me a preview of who their bosses are" said Gaara thoughtfully, glancing for a moment at Yoru and taking note of the scars, mildly curious at the origin...

Yoruichi gave them both somewhat annoyed looks before resting her head on her forepaws, not in a hurry to turn back to her human form and have to explain the scars. Gaara knew her history - she'd told him of her abusive father. If he thought about it, it wouldn't be hard to connect the scars to what left them. Ira, on the other hand, didn't know about her childhood...maybe the story would need to come out into the open for the second time in the few years since she'd lost everything.

Gaara thought for a while, considering the origin of the scars. he knew her history. her past was less than bright and cheerful. but still....what kind of treatment would leave scars like those? deciding to leave it for now he thought of something else. "I've always wondered what particular pleasure you get in morphing into a wolf, Yoru.....i don't suppose you can talk in that form can you?"...

Yoruichi gave Gaara a look that said quite plainly, "well, duh." Ira bit her tongue to keep from snickering, though the corner of her mouth twitched.

"so, being a shape shifting Demon ISN'T as good as i thought it was....good. to think i was actually starting to wish i was like that instead" said Gaara with a smirk, interested to see the reaction...

Yoruichi curled her lip in a low growl, baring fangs that easily dwarfed the ones that were normally there. Ira crossed her arms, enjoying the show.

a few wisps of sand extended from the gourd and arced around, wrapping around Yoruichi and lifting her into the air, bringing her almost nose to nose with Gaara. "cute little puppy....but keep the fangs hidden. ruins your looks" he commented with a slight smirk before setting her down again...

Yoruichi growled again, as if saying "I think I resent that". She started getting comfortable on the kitchen floor. Ira snickered quietly, and earned herself a glare. In response she arched one eyebrow, amused.

Gaara smirked, before turning towards a chair and sitting down, the gourd molding around and through the chair to make for a comfortable seat...

Yoruichi stared at the wall as she started to get lost in thought. Memories, semi-buried, were starting to run through her mind in succession. Like a movie she knew by heart and didn't want to watch anymore, but was forced to. Her mother, murdered brutally by her father. Her father, killed by her own hands. Raito, dead because of her vengeful aunt. Pain. Terrible pain. She shut her eyes, swallowing a high-pitched whine of sorrow. So many "if only"s...so many "what if"s. But if her life had been different, she probably wouldn't be here now.

Ira lowered her head, tucking her chin into her neck as if she was about to doze off. In reality, she was thinking hard about Yoruichi's scars. Not natural. Ira had seen enough knife wounds to recognize the scars they left. But who had scarred the other demon so badly - and why? It was a puzzle she didn't have enough pieces to finish.

Gaara leaned back in thought, as streams of sand extended from the gourd slowly, little mini versions of the three in the room being formed, scurrying around, the mini-Yoru now mimicking the girl herself, morphing into a wolf and scurrying around just out of her reach, in front of her, before sitting down and staring at her for a moment, suddenly dropping, seemingly exhausted. meanwhile the mini-Ira had grown wavering wings, which bore a slight resemblance to flames, hovering upwards in front of her likeness and then zipping past her head, hitting the wall with a sandy scrabbling sound, before returning, landing on her shoulder. the mini Gaara however, morphed into what seemed like a falcon, leaping up and hovering around the room, staring at the two others with an almost noticably predatory gaze. "How i wish i could turn into a falcon...the freedom animals like that have makes even the most powerful metahuman look like nothing" he said, half thoughtful, half sad at the fact...sure, he could change shape into a sand falcon or basically whatever form he liked, as a sand being, but he could never become it in true form.....the only thing he could truly be was himself as he was now.....Gaara....a young man with a difficult past....and a blood-drenched history...

Ira didn't look up, glad that her bangs shielded her eyes. "You're not alone. So many would give anything to be able to shapeshift," she murmured. Yoruichi made a soft sound that, had she been in her human form, would've been a sigh.

Gaara nodded. the mini-Yoru stood, and began padding towards her, gettong onto one of the paws and walking up it and onto her back, circling once, twice, and then sitting down, as if it had been in search of a more comfortable spot. mini-Ira meanwhile, had morphed into a fox, a bushy, sandy tail swirling around in front of it's paws as it sat. the sand-falcon above continued to circle, gliding around the room slowly and serenely, as if nothing in the world meant anything to it as it flew, it's behaviour the embodiment of Gaara's vision of life as a falcon...

Yoruichi grinned as much as a wolf could grin, and started to morph again. She ended up sitting on the floor, leaning against the cabinet with the mini-wolf on her shoulder. "I'll bet neither of you could put up with the fleas, though, if you were shape-shifters," she said flippantly. Ira rolled her eyes, more amused at the statement than anything.

"That's why i said falcon and not dog or wolf or something along those lines" responded Gaara. right then, the sand falcon dove, snatching mini-Yoru off her shoulders and lifted it into the air, the wolf morphing into the Falcon's body, making it grow to twice it' size. he quirked a brow at the odd action; something he hadn't commanded the sand to do, but shrugged it off. he thought he had taken care of it's....rebellious nature...

Ira lifted her head in time to see the scene play out, and bit the inside of her cheek to hold back a laugh. "Tiny wolves beware," she commented.

"It'll probably go for a mouse if it sees one.....otherwise.....foxes beware as well" said Gaara with a smirk. as if to emphasize the point, the sand raptor had moved so that it was circling above Ira, before flying off to the opposite side of the room, as if trying to find an effective angle of attack...
