Thats so sweet, Cass said weakly as she tried to adjust to lay back better.

Dreig opened the door to make a small space for him to listen in on the conversation. His head had begun to hang low. Ray just sat silently twiddling his fingers restlessly.

Thanatos tried to rearrange the pillows for better support. "Cass, I'm so sorry," he apologized again. "Please forgive me."

Nyx and Diana walked toward Ray and Dreig. "How is she?" Nyx asked, but kind of knew the answer.

Drake walked after the two, stopping in front of the door to the room Cass was in. heleaned against a corner, back to the wall, crossing his arms as he began listening in...

Cass smiled, There's nothing to forgive, it wasnt your fault. And i accept my fate for what it is.

Ray looked up while Dreig slumped to the floor from listening in on what Cass had said. She's not gonna make it, Ray said to Dianna and Nyx. And she's giving up, Dreig added solemnly.

Thanatos brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it. Then he closed his eyes tight and tried to sob quietly.

Nyx bit her lip and looked at the door. "There is a way, you know," she said. Diana shook her head. "That's not saving, that's condemning," she said and slid to the floor and closed her eyes.

Thanatos looked up and into Cass' eyes. "I will... try," he said. He could not wipe the memory of her, but he could live on for a few more millennias...

"But he could just-," Nyx started. "No!" Diana said sternly. "He knows that, I know that, you know that!" Diana stretched out her arm and balled her hand into a fist. "This isn't life!" she choked. "This is a lie." Nyx closed her eyes tightly. "I was only suggesting," Nyx said. "Well, that suggestion is out of the question," Diana said and leaned against the wall. They both knew, that getting turned into a vampire wasn't giving life it was taking it...

Cass smiled and stroked his face one more time. Then, she fell limp, her arm dropping to hang off the side of the bed and the monitor flat-lined with its long monotone beep.

Dreig and Ray flinched at the sound and their heads drooped almost simultaneosly.

Drake lowered his head in mourning, a low sigh escaping him. "Becoming a Vampire isn't taking or giving life....it merely makes one's body last with less than true life. when one is too close to death for him to live as a human, it may not be so for him to live as a Vampire. but with that change goes so many things that makes life, for some, worth living" he said, looking at Nyx and Diana calmly. "She'll be more at peace now than she would've been otherwise had Thanatos turned her" he said finally, crossing his arms as he closed his eyes, his head still lowered as he waited for Thanatos. he could only guess at how long he would mourn after this...afterall...he didn't know how close they were, or whether anything Cass said to him would change his outlook...

Thanatos finally let his tears run. He laid his head on the bed and wept like a child.

Diana didn't stay out in the hallway. She walked in and rested her hand on his shoulder. Nyx went in as well and put her hand on his other shoulder. No one said word, but they all knew what each was trying to say. We're sorry. We're here for you. I'll miss her too. Though Nyx and Diana didn't know her, they wished they did...

sighing, Drake straightened, and walked in as well, if only to offer his support. "She'll be more at rest now than she would've been any other way. she won't have to suffer the horrors of life in the world as it is becoming...if anything, her end was a peaceful one. in spite of her injuries, in spite of the hardships she was in, you were by her side all the way. you were there to support her. i can't think of any better way to come to an end than to be in the presence of the ones you cherish most" he said calmly, a solumn, peaceful tone to his voice...

Thanatos looked up slightly, but to only look at Cass' face once more. He sniffled and tried to wipe his eyes, but the tears just kept coming. Diana wrapped her arms around his shoulders and rested her head on one of them. He kept sniffling, but the tears started to receed. "She would've been great for you," Diana said. "If she would've, God wouldn't have done this to her," Thanatos said. "She wasn't meant for me." He sighed and got up, his face still tearstained. He bent and kissed Cass' hand one last time and slowly left the room. Nyx and Diana watched him leave then looked at Cass' lifeless body. "I wish I could've known you better, we could've been an awsome trio," Nyx said and followed. "You could've been a great contribution to the team," Diana said as well and followed after Nyx...

Drake soon followed, catching up with the others, saying "Let's get back home...looks like we've all had enough for one day". he reached into one of his pockets for the car keys as they made their way for the exit...

Dreig and Ray had been talking down the hall but the conversation was soon over and Dreig followed the others to the exit leaving Ray behind. Dont die Ray, I'm trusting you with that. Dreig called back. Ray simply nodded then took a detour down another hall.

Diana and Thanatos seemed to be having the worst wake-up call they've had yet. Their heads hung down in hopelessness. It had been a long time since they've seen death that had nothing to do with them. But it does have something to do with us, Diana thought. She shook her head. Thanatos just wanted to get home and retire to the wine cellar for the rest of the night.

Nyx looked back at where Ray disappeared and furrowed her brow. "Where's he going?" she asked.

On another one of his trips... maybe... permanently, Dreig sighed. There was no talking him out of it this time. He's just going to go. Dreig then sped up his pace in frustration passing by Nyx.

He says he's had enough of this life, he wants to someplace out of the way, peaceful, someplace where he can relax with out having to worry about other supernaturals. Dreig said.

"Exactly what all normal people want....what few seem to realise is that they're always present...wherever there are people, there are Supernaturals. but he's probably capable of finding himself a place out of the way of other Supernaturals if he tries. just so long as he's not too well known among the bigshots...the small-time Supernaturals usually keep to themselves to avoid getting the attention of Hunters" he said as he continued to walk...
