Drake was up in a split second, his hand around Thanatos' neck as he lifted him off the ground, his grip tight enough to cut off the blood to his brain, though he didn't go any further, despite his rage driving him towards just killing Thanatos for it, his still somewhat calm mind prevented him from going any further. "I have a feeling you're underestimating the situation here. there was a REASON i was fighting the Demon alone. do you know what that is? to keep him from turning his sights on you, Nyx and Diana, along with your home. that isn't Siete we're talking about here. that was something beyond him. above his level. and, judging by what i've gathered, that was a lesser Demon. meaning, he's SERVING another, more powerful one. and by more powerful, i mean WAY more. thousands of years beyond this one. the kind that would grab an elder Vampire and use it to jump rope with. for one, Diana was the one who got involved. now, as much as it pained me NOT to help her, it was time she saw exactly how difficult life out there can be. she's only SEEN Siete. she hasn't seen what some things out there are capable of. as a result, she was getting arrogant and saw Siete as the only real threat in the world. and that's my first point. my NEXT point, is that, if you hadn't noticed, i was barely taking care of MYSELF in that fight, let alone the ones around me, who i wish could've stayed out for their own good as well as my own. even if i was inclined to stop him from practically cooking her, as essentially harmless as that move was to her, i wasn't in a position to do so. i was too busy trying to avoid getting the same fate myself. the condition i was in today was such that if he had hit me like he hit Diana, he would probably have taken me out for at least a week due to the lack of energy to recover from a hit like that. a shotgun shell to the chest followed by a fight with an elder Demon is NOT something every Supernatural on the planet can withstand. if you were in my place, you would've been dead when he first arrived. so i suggest you think things over before striking out at the one whose TRYING to keep you all alive" snarled Drake, his eyes regaining the eerie red glow, his face almost lit red with the light that came from within his iris. he dropped Thanatos on the ground, calming down, preventing himself from doing any harm to the Vampire, reminding himself that Thanatos was probably as inexperienced as Diana was. Nyx's current silence, he could only take as a sign that she was sensible enough to know what kind of extreme dangers surrounded them in this world. he noticed his claws had begun to extend again during his explosion of rage, and cursed himself for lashing out. "That Demon is powerful, and unless you haven't noticed, i'm currently not equipped to deal with something of his caliber, let alone whatever he's SERVING. the best i can do in my current state is to try and fight him off long enough for him to weaken and retreat before any of you are harmed. you guys have already shown me more kindness than i can repay you for in one lifetime. supplying me with a place to rest, offering support when needed, allowing me the peace of a normal life for once. i don't want that kindness to go unpaid for, but there are some things that'll be beyond my power if things happen that shouldn't. Diana wanted to intervene. i understand she was trying to help, but with something like that, the best thing you can do is stay out of the way and hope the outcome is in your favour. as soon as the sun's up, i'm going to get some gear for myself from Brimstone that'll help me deal with the Demons. until then, we can only slow it down, or force it to retreat" he said after letting himself calm down, before reaching a hand down for Thanatos to lift him to his feet. "We need to get Diana to finish what's in those bottles. drain them. completely. then we need to get her inside and keep an eye on her until she recovers. it'll take a couple of hours at least, but she can recover from those wounds"...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
