The builder replied "Wise decision. I'll send you a file containing information about the mission shortly. It contains recent satellite data of the target area, a picture of what he looks like as well as possible landing spots. He lives in a ruin, isolated within a forest. The original colonists used it as a bunker spot as it was hard to locate due to surrounding mountains. At some point in time they blew it up the bunker from the inside. As far as we know, the target is armed, but shouldn't be expecting trouble."

"Sounds easy enough. Just give me the information, and you will have your package shortly." Mal'Ganis responded, leaning back in the pilot's chair...

Grievous jumped back from the attack, but didn't bother continuing the fight. Seeing the Vong sweep across the area, he retreated, his MagnaGuards destroyed by well-aimed Thud Bugs. "Spectre, come with me! We won't be able to hold all of these Vong off! Back to the shuttle!" As he ran back to Vassek, he dropped an armed and beeping thermal detonator behind him. Not even Shimmra could survive an explosion like that...

The Legacy of Torment retreated back into the Vong fleet, knowing it wouldn't be much longer until the planet was theirs. Tsavong Lah, however, was more interested in the reports he had received from Shedao, before the ground commander's death. A cyborg, and a Jeedai one, nonetheless. That would be a priority after Trandosha was Vongformed...

Spectre bolted after Grievous, bounding over the thermal detonator, quickly catching up to the cyborg. Arriving at the shuttle, Spectre stood back to wait for Grievous to enter before going in himself, to defend against any last ditch attacks against the cyborg...

Grievous charged into the shuttle, followed by the commando squad. The cyborg waited impatiently for Spectre to get aboard, watching as the detonator exploded violently down below, scattering dozens of unfortunate Vong. However, the horde kept coming, waving their hissing Amphistaffs in the air as they attacked Vassek's entrance guards viciously...

Serephir watched the battle from the Executioner's bridge, timing his actions carefully, waiting for that planned gap to form in the Vong ranks as they moved to fight the allied ships. As soon as he saw his opening, he made his move. almost immediately, 7 large missiles screeched out of their silos, winding forward into the Vong's forces, spreading outwards and slamming into the Legacy of Torment from all sides, 7 gargantuan nuclear explosions utterly engulfing the Vong Flagship, the multi-gigaton nuclear weapons detonating on impact, creating what resembled a supernova, the sheer force of the blast blowing all nearby craft away from the Legacy. meanwhile, the Vardian ships, despite taking a pounding from the Vong forces, continued their fight relentlessly, Plasma cannon batteries and Hexapulse Super Turrets pumping out a steady stream of ordinance into the Vong forces...

Blaze had lost himself in his stunned gaze of the supernova occuring before his eyes. the thought of the sheer destructive power of it scared him...this had enough power to end life in an instant. and the scariest part of it was, that area and the several parasecs around it would be uninhabitable for the next several centuries at the very least, perhaps slightly less if they had all the life support gear to survive in this kind of climate...

the Captain entered the room, the door splitting diagonally as it slid open, revealing a mildly decorated pilot's lounge, lockers visible in the back of the room with a round set of couches surrounding a table. he took a seat and gestured to Nightshade to do the same...

Chunks from the Legacy of Torment flew off the ship's armored shell, but its sheer size and incredibly thick armor prevented it from losing anything essential other than some of tis dovin basals. In particular, what passed for the bridge was deep in the bowels of the craft, keeping Tsavong Lah safe, though he still felt the rumble. He saw one large section of the ship drift away through a villip, and snarled angrily...

One of the Legacy of Torment's bulbous sections cracked down the middle, seemingly damaged. However, the section simply split in half, releasing a truly gigantic hunk of burning slag that was hurled across space. Immediately, the bulge closed again, and the plasma shot, which was bigger than a Star Destroyer, crashed against the the Executioner, literally pushing every other ship out of the way though sheer force, then exploded violently, engulfing the nose of the flagship in a massive wave of superheated magma and explosive napalm. The flagship moved back into the safety of the Vong lines, most of the other ships now streaking towards the Vardian fleet, firing as they grew closer, hurling massive walls of plasma at the tougher ships...

The builder sent the files along to Mal'Ganis and then ended the comlink.
The package also included a rendezvous point in a clearing a few miles from the ruin where they would collect the target once the kidnapping was successful...

The news came back on, the reporter talking in a shocked sounding voice, trying and failing to sound professional.

Marbh began musing aloud once more "Interesting isn't it. They report daily on massive atrocities that kill hundreds and treat it like some sick sport, spinning images of violent corporation wars and pirate raids for the blood hungry masses. Guess its not as enjoyable when its on your doorstep."

Thara, for the second time, ignored it. Instead directing his attention back to the tv and switching channel, trying to find a koultian news station. It was annoying. He had to input the frequencies and numbers of each station manually due to the Vardian equipment being incompatible with the normal plug and play tv.

Nightshade sat down and waited calmly. One of the Sentinels followed him in, striding along on 2 legs, its 3 other arms glancing about. The other one, however, remained motionless, infront of the dropship.

The Overlord of the Vong snarled in frustration and watched his minions pursue after the cybrog. Destroyed ships or what was left of them began to fall from orbit and crash towards the planet below. Fire and smoke fell from the sky and into the planet, smashing into anything below them. "Let the God's be praised for granting us this victory!" But deep inside, the Vong Leader was fully unaware of the countless of Vong that were killed in this battle..

"Damn it grievous, hurry up.." Revan thought silently. The Dark Lord wasnt sure on Grievous's status...for all he knew, the general was possibly dead. The Star Destroyer Fleet continued to unleash their turbo lasers, each turbo laser bolt litteraly had the power of a city destroying nuke and more. Each Star Destroyer was capable of completing wiping out a planet of life within an hour. But the awesome power was still being neglacted by the thick Vong armor and their dovin basals.

The shuttle immediately took off, and Grievous contacted Revan and Serephir: "This is General Grievous. We're retreating back to the Malevolence. If you don't want any more losses, haul a** now. I'll follow as soon as I can."

"All Imperial Units fall back at once. Red Squadron, cover blue...Gold and Green, make that one last attack run on the Vong assualt ship come in from bow of cruiser 8! All ships prepare for your fighters to dock and then leave at once, dont worry about the others!" Admiral Piett commanded. It was urgent for the Imperials to leave with what ships they already had.

Revan watched the situation, monitoring the situation...as soon as Imperial Ships were ready, they were ordered to leave at once. The two Mammoth Class Star Dreadnoughts would stay with the Annihilator regardless...staying as the main escorts. The three Star Dreadnoughts continued to provide their immense firepower...helping allies and eradicating enemies.

"Attention all VRN forces, Orders are to start a controlled retreat towards Geonosis. maintain constant suppressive fire until enemy fleet is out of range, or until objective is reached. Collosus class ships Demeter, Lion, Heracles, Titan, Exeter and Warrior are to stay in the company of the Executioner until the bulk of the fleet has retreated" came the order from the Vardian flagship. the H.V.M.S. Revenge began to move from it's firing position, continuing to unleash it's arsenal in full force against the Vong ships, the Vardian fleet around it slowly retreating alongside the Imperials, heading for Geonosis...

Blaze remained speachless, staring at the movement of the massive supernova, and imagining how that single action by a concious, sentient, malicious entity had in an instant killed untold billions, and prevented an immeasurable number more from ever coming into existence...

"Now, Nightshade, I think we can both agree that the problems that are posed to any sizeable faction in modern times are too innumerous to count. The Vardians are a majorly peace loving faction. our business has more requirement for friends than enemies. As such, it has been deemed fitting by my superiors that I work to establish an at least comfortable relationship, or at least provide the means for such, between the Vardians, and the faction you represent" explained the Captain as he hit a few buttons on the table near him, at the top of which a slot opened and a drink was produced, more specifically, orange juice, though in this case it was almost entirely artificial...

As Grievous' shuttle landed in the Malevolence's hangar, he immediately ordered all ships into retreat through his antennae. The TGDA fleet was already fleeing with the last remaining refugee ships before the cyborg had even steppe out of the shuttle.

Lissarkh watched the ships retreat from the bridge, sighing, but not bothering to say anything...

OOC:

I don't think so. This annoys me for a few reasons. It is completely out of proportion when you consider the size of a Star destroyer and more importantly, a turbo laser. You realise that most cities are several miles in diameter and if what you say is true, that a single shot from a turbo laser could effectively wipe out another star destroyer?

Not to mention the fact that turbo lasers are rapid fire weapons. They don't charge up big massive shots, they just fire as much lasers as they can as quick as they can. Giving them that kind've power is ridiculous.

However, my main problem with this is the scale on which it is. Massively destructive stuff is allowed in SEW. Look at the Death Star, and what I just did to Maricas, but making that kind of destruction common place IS NOT. For the Deathstar, there was a whole battle centred around just trying to stop the damn thing from shooting.

Wiping out a city is a big feat. The only thing in the Star Destroyer's arsenal capable of doing that would be its Super Laser. That, which I have no problem with. It makes sense for it to be able to wipe out a city, but it takes time to fire and there is a big recharge time, so its ok.

One of my biggest problems with this is that it makes ground battles almost pointless. Taking what you said, the entire vong army could have been destroyed by a stray shot from a Star Destroyer. The Scale in SEW is constantly fluctuating. Try to keep it reasonable guys, I know you want to win but at the same time we gotta keep this place interesting.

Ok, rant over. Please take this into account next time you introduce a new weapon, or just elaborate on an existing one.
[/OOC]

Thara got out of his seat and walked over to the Rec rooms console. He started a ship wide broadcast and said "All crew, please report to the Rec room for a meeting, thank you."
The second thing he did was connect to the planetary network and looked up company prices. Most companies based on Maricas's shares were already plummeting, most people having been more concerned about their money than anything else. That was good, it meant they could probably get their hands on some new equipment cheaply, and that a new corporation war would probably spark up as the smaller companies took advantage of the vacuum.

Nightshade nodded to the captain and said "You speak wise words, captain. My superiors wish to express their apologies that such a comfortable relationship will not be possible at the moment. As you said, in these modern times, problems are too innumerable to count. Overlooking just the threat posed by just one of them could mean disaster. We are a secretive race, we do not show ourselves to just anyone. Maybe sometime in the future, we will see Vardia as a friend to trust, but for now, your territory has been marked as an unsafe zone. Maybe the first step in rectifying this situation would be to provide me with Vardian boarder data, so that this problem does not repeat itself?"

A human with messy hair spun around in his revolving chair, reading a book boredly, ever now and again glancing at the monitor infront of him. It showed him various camera views from around the ruin. They helped him feel safe. He didn't like being so exposed on the surface but at the same time he didn't trust the deeper areas of the bunker.

OOC: I was simply going by "canon" calculations. Imperial Class Star Destroyers which are only one mile have eight quad turbo lasers that fire 200 gigatons per shot. A full barrage if I'm correct is in the terraton range. Our modern day nukes are nowhere near to that firepower. Besides shields for Star Destroyers really are tough. They can handle what they give. The point is...even regular Star Destroyers have the firepower to reduce an entire planet to molten slag in under an hour and I used that sentence as my way of elaborating on the power of a single star destroyer. However even with that firepower, the Vong's dovin basals and thick armor like hide are capable of withstanding that firepower.

"We'll be back..." Revan silently thought to himself. The Dark Lord then gave a simple nod as the Annihilator along with the remaining Imperial Ships proceeded to enter hyperspace and retreat from the battle...it was time to recover, regroup and prepare for counter attack.

OOC: SEW is NOT Star Wars
and it should be noted that in Star Wars, a turbo laser barrage blows up a bunker. Not a continent. Star wars is extremely inconsistent and isn't bound by... well anything really. Every scene within those films is made to entertain. Nothing more. One minute, a thermal detonater blows up a whole bunker, the next, it simply sends one soldier flying.
Also, a single Star Destroyer CANNOT maul a planet within an hour. Do you have any idea how over powered that is? That would suggest that 60 star destroyers can destroy a planet in a minute. As you have 35894908769 star destroyers, why bother with a Death Star at all? Mathematically you could wipe out a planet in under a second with only a small fraction of your force.

Apply common sense, then it becomes obvious how retarded these 'canon' calculations are. Drop 'em immediately.

Thara answered Arqueek calmly enough "Civil war just broke out, then Maricas popped..." He waited for the rest of the crew, not sure if he should be excited or mournful about what had just transpired...

Arqueek replied calmly, "I see. And is this a bad thing or a good thing?" The only truly bad thing he could see coming out of it was this new threat, and the fact that Skav could pretty easily cause even more trouble than they had so far...
