Steeltalon finally settled into an uneasy sleep. She was plagued with scattered images until she finally dreamed something disturbing.
Steeltalon looked around her and saw her friends slaughtered. Every last one. Her hatchlings were at Raven's feet, who stood at the center of the massacre. The sky was blood-red with the first light of dawn...or was it freshly spilled blood? Whatever it was, it drew Steeltalon's attention back to her dead friends and her mate, who was closest to her.
And in the center of the devastated clearing was Raven, Silver and Rawclaw in front of him, dead. The four hatchlings and Switchblade stood in front of him, covered in bloody wounds and wailing in pain. The eggs in a nest beside Raven were smashed; the contents seeped out in a small, sticky river.
"Kill us!" Switchblade was squealing to Raven desperately. "You've already done enough!"
Raven smirked and raised his killing toe, hacking off all five of the young dino's heads in one smooth motion. Steeltalon's scream of horror went unheard as Raven turned to face her and slit her throat with a swift kick.
She choked on her own breath and blood bubbled in the wound as she saw, not Raven, but Riptide, Night, Amberclaw, Red Death, and all of the rest of the group who had wiped out Steeltalon's family. They were laughing, jeering, and then one voice came to her louder than the rest.
"WAKE UP!"
Steeltalon jerked awake and found herself staring into terrifyingly familiar green eyes. She gasped as her hand instincively jumped to her throat, but aside from the bite wound she'd recieved from Amberclaw, it was fine.
"You were screaming in your sleep," Raven growled. "Something about Riptide and Switchblade." His eyes glinted with faint interest.
"I...it was nothing, Raven," Steeltalon hissed shakily, removing her hand from her throat and relaxing slightly, though not by much. The sky was tinted blood red, reminding Steeltalon horribly of her dreams.
