Darkness continued on, hanging his head, utterly depressed. He was sick of running, sick of being in strange territory. Sick of Gigus. All I want... Darkness snarled to himself. ...is to be with my mate... he growled, shaking his head. Darkness continued on without a word, still hanging his head.

After a few minutes of silence, Steeltalon dropped her head again, dissapointed. "I never really noticed how much a part of this group Darkness is until now," she sighed, blinking back the sorrow and frustration that threatened to cloud her vision. She didn't say any more, only closing her eyes with a shaky intake of breath.

Raven slowly relaxed, dissapointment making its way into his thoughts. I never thought I'd miss the way he glared at me, the gray male thought, glancing at Steeltalon. And she's really taking this hard....It must be worse than losing her family ten times over for her.

She shrugged and barked "I suppose that would work. It coulkd be handy getting them used to live prey this young..."

Sandstorm dipped his head when no response came. He hopped off the branch and walked over to the spinos body, riping some flesh out of its leg. He scented the air again sniffing for any signs of life, but got nothing other than what he already knew was around. Tomorrow he would have to go exploring, set up a border and find out the best places to hunt. It was going to be a busy day...

Fatalis nodded. "well, i spot my first job already. in a few minutes, i'll be free to tell you what i know that you might not". he walked quietly towards a small group of compies which had collected around the corpse of the previous day's meal. he leapt at one, knocking it over and making it tumble a few feet. before it could get up, he snapped it's right leg, and bit on it's jaws until it stopped trying to fight back. he picked it up, and took it, by the neck, to the cave. he dropped it infront of the youngsters, who eyed it curiously. it started trying to bite them, and Fatalis snarled. it immediately stopped, still trying to fight them off with it's tail, and occasionally snapping at them. the youngsters were, by now, highly skilled jumpers, and were easily avoiding the Compy's bites and tailwhips. one finally jumped onto it's back, pinning it in place, while the other 3 went for the tail, healthy leg and neck. it was soon dead, and Fatalis grinned, HookFang and BlackStorm watching him, shocked. they hadn't thought of that particular trick, even though it had been the same way they were taught. they didn't think the youngsters would be able to attack a living thing yet. apparently they were wrong. Fatalis walked back to SoftFoot, and hissed "Done. youngsters are satisfied, and im free to tell you what you want to know"...

Blade watched Darkness and his worsening temper. after a while of silence, he decided he'd get his mind off the others for a bit, and growled "What does that Carcha want from you anyway?". his hunger was driving him mad, but as long as Darkness walked, he'd have to keep up, or else lose whatever possible help and friendship he could get...

That beast is out for revenge.....Me, my mate, and one of our allies fought his father, then I warned the resident owner of the territory of the Carchar, the Tyrannosaur finally putting the beast down....Now Gigus wants revenge on everyone involved... Darkness growled, looking toward Blade. He eyed the Allosaur, sensing something wrong. Hungry? Darkness growled after a moment of silence.

The two arrived at a carcass, the corpse itself not the target, but the compies that picked the meat from the bones. Darkness remained hidden, waiting until the compies returned to their eating, leaping at one, cracking its back and throwing it into another one, pinning the creature. Darkness walked over to the trapped compy, slicing it's throat with one kick. He grabbed the compy on top, dragging it over to a tree before beginning to eat.

Softfoot had been watching the water as it flowed past, reflecting on her life. When Fatalis spoke she was snapped out of the trance. She smiled and barked "Well what do you know that I most likely don't? For instince you commented on my tree climbing yesterday." She shrugged and waited for him to respond.

Sandstorm shook his head from side to side clearing his mind of thoughts. He grunted and started walking through the trees, determained to see a bit of the area in his first day...

Fatalis shrugged before hissing "the problem is it takes practice jumping, for a long time, before you can push yourself to the point you can leap into trees. being bigger means it'll be harder to do, but worth a try. show me your highest jump. then i can try and guess how long we'd have to practice to get you fit to jump into trees"...

Blade nodded at Darkness' question, and followed until they reached a corpse. Darkness quickly killed two Compies, and went off with one, leaving the other where it died. Blade quickly snapped it up, and ate it in two bites. there was little to be had on the corpse itself, but it was worth eating. he pushed the nearly skeletonised Pachy over, and ripped the small bit of flesh that was on the side that was on the ground earlier, and then went over and lay down while Darkness finished eating...

After looking around for a few minutes, Switchblade stiffly padded to the cliff cave, looking up at the rock face. She turned her eyes to the black depths of the cave, carved out of the immense block of stone. Then for some unknown reason, the Lili turned her gaze toward Steeltalon. The raptor was depressed, she could tell. Switchblade had never seen her friend like this before, and it worried her. But it also uncovered a feeling she didn't expect. It enraged her that someone would do something that hurt her so much. Just like the saurophagnax hurt me. she thought. When the sauros killed her family, they missed Switchblade, allowing her to escape unharmed. But that wasn't quite true. No, she wasn't killed, but a part of her had died that day. Her heart had shattered at the loss of her family. Her mother and father, Sabre, Daggertooth, Blueflank... gone forever. Her entire world turned upside down. The Lili turned her gaze away from the raptor to stare at the grassy earth, and thought simply. I know exactly how she feels.

Softfoot tilted her head slightly and barked "Jumping? Why would I jump into a tree? What do you think claws are for? But if you say so..." She stoood up grunting and focus herself. Then she burst foreward and kicked off a rock pushing herself into the air. She soared up and then landed on her feet falttening out to asorb the impact. She stragihted up again waiting to hear what fatalis had to say...

Ooc:shadow's letting me use razor edge until he gets back

orange sail woke when he heard razor edge growl to him. the spinosaur rose to his feet and growled to the raptor:"nothing unusual happened." orange sail waded into the lake and waited for a fish to come by. when a large fish came close to the spinosaur, it was quickly snapped up and eaten. orange sail waited for another fish to come by and spotted a large, slow fish that had orange scales. the spinosaur waited until the fish came too close. three seconds later, where there had been a large fish, there was nothing. there wasn't even any blood in the water after orange sail had grabbed the fish in his mouth.

Fatalis nodded with approval. "That's not bad considering your size. try and jump without help. just a normal, jump in place. just to see what's your highest height without help"...

Softfoot rolled her eyes slightly, not really seeing the point of jumping on the spot. Neither the less, she crouched down and then sprang upwards. It was a feeble jump not making half the height of her original. When she landed she hissed "And jumping on the spot helps me.... how?"

Fatalis hissed "Well, im using that jump to judge how high you CAN jump, so that i can tell how much time you might need to be able to jump high enough to get into a tree without climbing it. the use of it is when you're being chased by a predator and dont have the energy to outrun it, you can jump into the trees and lose it using the foliage up there. your jump, if that was your best, wasn't bad for your size. i've seen other half mutants and regular mutants who couldn't jump half as high. i'd expect a month of jumping practice would probably get you in shape to really start using trees to your advantage. it may seem odd, foolish and pointless at first, but trust me, you'll be thankful later". Fatalis demonstrated his highest jump. it was incredibly high for a Velociraptor, but still, not much when compared to Ripper, the eldest Raptor on the island. but it was high enough to get into most low trees. he hissed "That's what you should be able to do once we're done"...

Softfoot watched the jump, impressed and mumered "wow, I expect that comes from a life of jumping." she turned to face one of the trees and snarled "I can get into them quick enough, but I still have to use the trunk to rebound off. I wouldn't trust my self on some branches, one of the downsides to my size." She watched the tree thoughtfully for a moment thinking about how she would climb up it if she tried...

Darkness finished with the compy, rising up and stretching. He walked toward Blade, nudging him. Its best we get moving...the Sun's about to set, and I plan to travel through the night... Darkness growled, finding the trail again. He bolted along it, as best he could, the injury and all. Darkness's mind was cluttered with many thoughts; How long would it take to find his mate again? Would her, the hatchlings, and his friends be ok? Darkness shook his head, continueing to follow the trail, the day nearing nightfall.

Raven decided that it was a bad idea to try and stay up any longer. They'd been running for most of three days to get here; they needed their rest. He barked a quiet goodnight and curled up to sleep his exhaustion off.

Steeltalon felt someone's eyes on her and turned her head slightly to catch the thoughtful look. It was Switchblade who had been staring at her so intently, and sorror mixed with anger were battling in her emerald eyes. Steeltalon dipped her head to the young Lili, in respect and friendship. Someday soon, she would live up to her promise to Switchblade. But only when she thought they were both ready. She turned her gaze to the sunset, the fading light somehow calming her enough that she finally felt she'd be able to sleep.

orange sail saw that the sun was begining to set. the spinosaur decided to patrol the terriotry before he fell asleep. orange sail growled to razor edge:"i am going to patrol the terriotry. i want to make sure there aren't any intruders trying to take this area." after seeing razor edge nod, the spinosaur headed to the north to start his patrol. orange sail checked the area, making sure to check behind trees to make sure that any small intruders weren't hiding there. after 10 minutes, orange sail didn't find any intruders. however, he did find the skeleton of a triceratops that had much of its frill missing. the spinosar walked to the east and checked for intruders there. orange sial didn't see any intruders in this area of the territory. satisfied, orange sail turned and headed back to where he had seen the trike skeleton. after 10 minutes, orange sail found the skeleton and walked to the south, where razor edge was. razor edge saw orange sail return and growled to the spinosaur:"did you find any intruders?" orange sail growled:"no." razor edge and the spinosaur were close to falling asleep. orange sail and razor edge lay down and a few minutes later, they were asleep.

Sandstorm arrived back into the clearing to everyone starting to fall asleep. He growled a quite greeting to Shadow leaf, being sure not to wake anyon up and they walked into the cave, settleing down against a small rock.
Sandstorm was still thinking about the next day, he doubted it was going to be a good one...

Fatalis nodded. "Ever since i was split from my family at the age of 4, i've been living alone. i've run from countless predators, fought a number of surprisingly large ones, scared them off on some occasions, used whatever i could get ahold of to my advantage. it's that that's made me what i am" he hissed, thinking back to his early days as a loner, before he joined the Lone Wolves. "The Lone Wolves weren't always a friendly, tolerant group towards mutants. i didn't get welcomed because i looked like a mutant of different colouration to the normal. but when i finally did manage to get into the group, they quickly became happy to have me. my life had much to contribute to their skills, and i ended up teaching many of them" hissed Fatalis in a moment of rememberance. finally, he growled "Many branches can hold a surprising amount of weight. and the majority of the island has trees with low branches that can support your weight. more than once i've been surprised by the sight of young adult Utahraptors sitting in low tree branches. how they got up there, i have no idea. the point is, you're still capable of keeping on most branches"...

Blade ran after Darkness, now capable of keeping up with him easily because of his injury. his memory began to drift back to the days before he was orphaned. back when he still had a family. the days he used to play with his brothers ad sisters, before he and his mother were abandoned because his mother couldn't hunt. back to the days when he'd leap sideways to get out of the way of his siblings' rams, and deliver his own rams in their sides, sometimes ramming them head on, or ramming trees if no one else wanted to play. memories of a life lost...

She continued to stare at the tree and growled "You were 4? heh, I was lucky, I was much younger than that when I was split." She added with an amused raptor chuckle "I can't even remember my parents, and happy for it. The only times I remember before the pack was killed was, well Clawfist, Sandstorm all my other freinds. The only ones who survived. I think I remember a few of the sentries aswell, but no names." It was already night time and she was feeling tired. But stable, she glanced up and down the tree looking for a climbable pattern.
