Exile was feeling kind of tired herself, and was releaved when Scar suggested they rest. Rawhide had similar feelings too.

The three raptors journeyed a slight bit more, until they found what looked like a deserted cave. Rawhide entered first, sniffing the cave out to make sure it was indeed deserted. and then settled down to sleep. Exile followed, and whispered to Scar "How long do you think it iwll take before we find Jade?"

after Crusher ate the last piece of Therizinosaur flesh, he looked at Hunter and growled "how did that taste?". Hunter growled "Excellent. i've never tasted anything like it before". Crusher growled "If it wasn't for the threat of large predators, i wouldn't have left this place. the problem is, we cant keep large predators away from our youngsters all the time. if i could, i wouldv'e moved our nest here. the problem is, there arent any places as suitable for a nest as ours, and these Therizinosaurs are dangerous, regardless of how old or experienced we are. one thing i will say about this. hunting here is worth it". Hunter nodded in agreement. Crusher growled "Now, you rest. i'll stand watch. when you wake up, we'll switch. in the morning, we'll return to the nest". Hunter nodded, and got down, and had his first really good sleep in weeks. Crusher looked around, and watched for predators. after seeing that there werent any, he got down, and made himself look as if he were resting as well. he'd lure out all the potential threats that way...

As Blade entered the cave, he instantly knew something was wrong. There were no raptors in the cave. It was deserted.

He walked through the twisting tunnels, careful not too stray too near the darkest deepest parts. He couldn't tell whether or not Shadow could be waiting there for him.

Walking back to the entrance puzzled, it hit him. It was night, they were out hunting. Everyone of them again. Blade couldn't help thinking how many raptors 'everyone of them' now was. He growled in annoyance. He would wait here to find out...

I don't think it will take long, Scar answered. I doubt that she would go anywhere else other than to her family. After he gave the answer, Scar found a place to sleep in the back of the cave and slowly drifted off to sleep, happy to be with his friends once again...

Claws sliced into his side and suddenly awoke Scar, and he found Otalp's cold red eye giving him that strange look-the one that felt like the old raptor was looking into his soul. Otalp? Scar growled. You're alright? He looked around, saw Exile and Rawhide standing near the exit of the cave. They probably caught Otalp sneaking in, though he apparently was able to convince them that he meant no harm.

What did you expect? I only have one eye, it's not like that Dilophosaur was likely to blind me.

If you were never hurt, why didn't you come find me?

Because, I wanted to see what you would do when you were isolated. I was going to attack you to see how well you handled the sudden shift and to see if your fighting skills improved, but the Tyrannosaur found you before I did. So what are you doing with the other two raptors?

They're friends from my pack. We're traveling together for a bit.

Doing what? Otalp started to circle him, and it was obvious the old raptor was growing suspicous. But suspicous of what, exactly, was difficult to tell. Was he worried that Scar might be in danger? Disappointed that the two wouldn't be traveling together? Suspcious that Crusher might try to kill him?

Scar thought for a second. Should he tell him the truth? Give him a lie? He still wasn't sure what Otalp wanted, or why he was here, so it might be best to tell a lie... But he decided on something inbetween. We're looking for a close friend of mine.

Why? Are you trying to form a group loyal to you to try to attack your brother and reclaim your role as leader of the pack? Though Otalp seemed fine with Scar's answer, he was trying to learn more, though why was a mystery to Scar.

No, actually, I've decided I won't be going back as pack leader. I like not having to worry about and feel responsible for the entire pack, I've felt I've lived with that pressure for too long. Instead, there is someone else willing to challenge Shadow. In fact, I recently learned he's a relative of mine, somehow.

How did you learn that? Otalp asked. Again, more questions. What was the old raptor trying to do? Was he honestly interested, or was he trying to do something else? Once again, Scar couldn't tell. But what harm could it do to tell the mutant were Crusher had found out he was a relative's of Blade?

I learned it from an old raptor named Ripper who lives in the labs. He seems to know-

-Everything, I know. Scar looked at Otalp, and there seemed to be genuine surprise in his eye. Why was that? Was he interested in Ripper? Had he heard some sort of rumor about Ripper and wanted to ask him something? Or was there something else? I need to go now, Scar. The raptor turned to leave, and was almost out of the cave when he heard Otalp growl, Farewell to you and your friends, Scar...

Hunter woke up after a 2 hour rest, and Crusher switched places with him. Hunter watched the area around him; rather calm considering this was not his father's territory. there didn't seem to be another major predator around...it was as if it was deserted...abandoned by whatever predator used to live there. then a possibility came up: what if it was a small predator? like a Ceratosaur, or maybe a Carnotaurus? what if it was a pack predator? Crusher being the largest and most dominant predator, most of those potential owners would probably keep away, not daring to challenge him. now that he was asleep, they would probably reviel themselves. Hunter kept a sharp eye and ear open. he made sure that he didn't ignore any scent that he detected, just in-case the predator was a Carnotaurus...

after 2 more hours, Crusher woke up, and the 2 walked off, heading for home. after a while, they heard barks. raptor barks that sounded far too familiar to be any normal pack on the island. it was Scar's old pack. Crusher decided to have a look, and told Hunter to keep going towards the nest, since the family probably needed him now...

Exile watched the strange raptor named Otalp leave. She growled slightly... she did not trust him. RawHide had noticed the raptor trying ot sneak him, and they had pounced. But he was too quick for them, and had dodged, and had gave them the impression that he meant Scar no harm. But the one eye.... it unnerved Exile. She wondered how Scar had known him



Meanwhile, the sound of barks from outside the cave instantly alerted Blade to the packs return. They had been successful by the sound of it... maybe they were finally accepting Shadow as their leader.

However, Blade was horrified when he watched the raptors enter the cave. There were hardly any left... down to single figures. He shrunk into the shadows, and watched them enter. He hadn't thought through his plan properly, the raptors were sure to sniff him out. Then, he noticed someone who changed his situation dramatically. SharpClaw

Scar was puzzled. What did Otalp want with Ripper? Otalp clearly knew Ripper, but from where? And why did he want to go see him? Why do I care? Scar asked himself. It doesn't matter. Right now I should focus on finding Jade. He pondered how far they had gone, where they had been so far. By the looks of it, they would get there less than a day's walk, if they moved quickly and cut through Allosaur territory.

He was going to ask if they should try going through the Allosaur territory or avoing it when Scar noticed that Exile look troubled. Scar came up beside her and asked, What's wrong? Are you worried about Blade? He'll be fine, don't worry.

Exile looked into Scar's eyes. "Yes i am worried about Blade, but i know that he'll be able to do it. Well, i hope so." She shook her head. Now was not the time to be thinking about Blade. Although, recently, he had been coming into her mind more and more.

"How do you know that raptor? He almost looks like a mutant!" She asked, quickly changing the subject

Scar could tell that Exile was uncomfortable with talking about Blade. He could tell that she was afraid for her. Nevertheless, he answered her question. I met him while wandering around the island. He offered that we travel together, since it makes it more likely that both of us would survive, and though I was suspcious, I agreed. He proved that he meant no harm, and so I continued, until we split up for a while after he was attacked while we were raiding a Dilophosaur nest and I thought he was dead. Him showing up here was just as big a surprise to you as it was to me.

Crusher growled silently when he saw how small the pack had become. just seeing Shadow made him want to charge out and rip him to pieces, but he had to honour his friend's wish, and leave him alive. he could see Blade in the distance, very surprised at how he managed to see him, and the pack not. he also saw SharpClaw....



Meanwhile, Hunter returned to the nest, to be rammed in the side by Fury. Hunter growled "Hi Fury...not in the mood to play now...im sleepy". Rampage growled "Where's your father?". Hunter growled "He's watching Scar's pack. Shadow's ruined it, and Scar doesn't want to be the leader anymore"...

Blade hissed quietly to try and get SharpClaw's attention. It was no use, she didn't hear. And any louder would attract the others. He was just about to see if he could try and sneak outside, when he felt immense pain in his left side. He roared with the pain, and jumped out of the Shadow's turning around to see one of Shadow's guards.

"Why have you come back here?" He snarled, staring at Blade. Blade didn't answer, he checked to see if he could find Shadow. He was still outside, sorting outside, taking his fill of the carcass they had brought home.

"You will only find your death here" The raptor snarled at leapt once again at Blade. But he was ready for it. He leapt to the side, and barked at SharpClaw, who had been shocked by his suprise presence. She leapt into the fray, and slashed the raptor down it's left side, matching Blade's wound.

"What are you doing!" The raptor screamed at SharpClaw "Get back with the others!" SharpClaw just snarled with rage "We're not going to be treated like this anymore! Shadow's reign is over"

SharpClaw lunged for the raptor, but it dodged out of the way last second. She roared her frustration. Blade ran around the other side, and snapped at the raptors legs. He howled with the pain, and tried to run the other way, but was cornered by SharpClaw.

"This is were it ends" Blade snarled and sliced the raptors belly open with his claw. The raptor screamed in pain, and tried to escape by pushing through them. But SharpClaw was on him in an instant. The suffering these raptors had put her through, the hatred in her eyes was on fire. She delivered a lethal bite to the neck, and the raptor ceased to be.

They both roared in triumph. The other of Shadow's guards entered the cave and saw the raptors body, and immneditalty retreated. They were getting Shadow...

Shadow watched his guards running towards him, apparently worried about something. he did a head count, and found one was missing. he hissed "What's going on?! where's the last guard?!". the Raptors informed him of what was happening, and Shadow watched behind him as the other pack members seemed to get unsettled....they now knew they weren't alone...

Meanwhile, Crusher watched as Shadow led the guards towards the cave. he went around the small clearing at the entrance, and watched from a better angle. if anything bad happened to his friends, he'd join in on the fight...his hatred for Shadow was enough to make him be twice as vicious if he entered the fight...

The group left the cave before dawn, and set off for the north. They had decided to cut through the Allosaur territory, as they wanted to return home quickly, and Scar was feeling anxious. He hadn't seen his mate in what felt like months, how much had she changed? How much had he changed? Was he still the same that he had been when Shadow had defeated him and taken his place as pack leader? Scar didn't see himself as having changed, but how would Jade see him?

Scar let out a sigh, and silently chastised himself. What was the point of just worrying? It wouldn't help, and would only make himself more worried. But I do have a valid point, he thought. Who knows how much either of us have changed? What if it's like we're two completely differant raptors from when we last saw eachother? Does it really matter? I've barely paid attention to her for the last few years, and now it feels like it's coming to an end. I feel like I hardly know her...

Blade and SharpClaw walked out of the cave, and watched as Shadow moved up to them, with his pack of goons following close beind. Shadow hissed "You fool! you dare to try and take over the pack?! you'll only get yourself killed!". Blade hissed "No, Shadow. you are the one who'll get himself killed, not me. you have taken the pack from your brother, killed most of it in your hunts, and expect them to accept you as their leader!". SharpClaw snarled "Thanks to you, only 5 of the original 30 hatchlings survived! you monsterous cold hearted excuse for a raptor! you've killed off most of the pack's future, over your little night time hunts!". Shadow snarled in anger and lunged at SharpClaw, but was rammed out of the way by Blade. right then, the guards charged at them. one of them thought it was about to end SharpClaw's life, when Blade came close enough to rais his foot and give the raptor a killing slash in the side, amking it drop to the ground mere inches away from SharpClaw. then, another 2 charged towards them, one jumping at them. they dodged it, and it bumped into the outter wall of the cave, damaging it's killing claw, which was ment to spring forward on contact with anything. the second one lunged at Blade, who was saved by SharpClaw's countering lunge, hitting the flying raptor out of the air, and onto the ground, her killing claw wedged into it's ribs, piercing it's heart. then, the remaining 3 charged together, joined by the one who had damaged it's killing claws. Crusher lunged forward, and slammed his jaws shut on 2 of them, and swung his head up, sending the other 2 raptors flying into the wall of the cave. Crusher ate the 2 raptors in his mouth whole, and came to the remaining 2 and growled "you should never have sided with a traitor". he then stepped on one, and grabbd the other and slammed it against the ground, breaking every bone in it's body. he bit it again, and threw it up, then ate it whole. Crusher then watched as Blade and Shadow lined up for a duel, circling eachother...

As the group searching for Jade continued to the north, Scar continued to agonize over mistakes he'd made with his mate. There was is so much more that I could have done, Scar thought. When I thought that she died, I thought about all that I done wrong with Jade. There is so much more I can do-I should go hunting with her more, I should get to know her better. I hardly know anything about her childhood, while I've bragged over and over about how I lead the pack as a juvenile to her. I should start getting to know her more on the way back to the pack. Hopefully, Blade will have defeated Shadow by now, and the pack will be safe, if a smaller, and now that he's taking over as pack leader, I'll have that chance. I've screwed up before, but I won't make that mistake again. He decided that this would be fine, and Scar felt better as they made their way into Allosaur territory.

The trio crossed the jungle without incident, and safely made it over a river, though it took more time than expected because last night's rains had swollen its banks and increased the current, sending them further downstream than intended. After this, they made it through the rest of the Allosaur pack's territory. When they stopped, it was either to catch a compy to eat or find something to drink. As night began to fall, they approached the northern tip of the island...

Shadow circled around Blade, and Blade did the same. "You cant beat me, Blade. i have you outmatched". Blade hissed "Your strength is stealth. everything else about you is pathetic. you cant hunt successfully, you need the cover of darkness to be able to do anything, and you are a terrible pack leader". Shadow hissed "Well, what about you? all i've seen you do is go out on a couple of hunts, and you werent following Scar's commands. proof that you were useless as a pack raptor, and that Scar is a bad leader. now, with me in charge, the whole pack follows what i tell them, and we get the kills. good kills, ones that'll feed the pack for 2 days!". Blade growled "At the price of what? 3 quarters of the pack? if anything, that's one of your worst traits. you've killed most of the pack just so that you can hunt". Shadow hissed "Enough!" and lunged at Blade, who got knocked to the ground, a small slash in his side. Shadow jumped at him, intending to kill him, but he was ready. he rolled towards Shadow, and kicked upwards, the foot hitting Shadow in the stomach, and knocking him upwards. he then rolled out of the way, and stood up, in time for Shadow to swing his arm, leaving a slash down Blade's face. he snarled and lunged at Shadow, who was too slow to get out of the way, and was sent sliding across the grass at the entrance. he got up, and started running for the deep parts of the cave. just as he was about to enter the cave, Crusher caught him by the tail. he dropped him to the ground, and snarled "Not this time, Shadow!". Shadow jumped to his feet, and started to run for the cave again, but Blade was in front of him, waiting. Blade hissed "You've just shown us all your a coward. cant fight in daylight? it's not even day yet, it's dawn! and still you fear fighting me in the open, in front of the pack!". he then slashed Shadow in the face, and lunged, pinning him to the ground. he hissed "This, is why he defeated Scar in the last fight! he had the advantage inside the cave! in darkness! in the open, anyone in the pack can beat him! the juveniles could beat him! is this murdering, cowardly monster, what you want as your leader?!". the pack hissed in unison, then looked at Shadow. he struggled, and managed to kick Blade off. Blade lunged at him as he started to run for the cave, and managed to slash him on his leg with the killing claw. Shadow fell to the ground, beaten. Blade walked up to him, and hissed "Your lucky Scar asked me not to kill you, or i would have. even if you are family...". SharpClaw snarled "You dont know how much i've been wanted to do this, Shadow! THIS, is for killing most of my young!". she slashed him on the side, leaving a deep cut that would remain as a scar forever. she then hissed "And now, we think it's time we got rid of you". she looked at Blade as he came to Shadow, and Shadow hissed,a look of hatred in his eyes. Blade raised his right foot, and bashed Shadow on the head, knocking him unconscious. now it was Crusher's turn. he came to Shadow, then growled to the pack "Im taking him somewhere where he wont bother us. Scar'll be able to find him if i tell him, but otherwise, nobody will know where he is. also, since he's going to be unconscious the whole way, he wont know where he is". the pack nodded, and Crusher looked at Shadow, and picked him up, pressing slightly harder than normal, making sure that he at least bruised Shadow if not breaking a rib while carrying him. he headed off towards the south; the walk would take days, and the place he was intending to put Shadow was behind the territories of many very territorial predatos, most of them Gigas, with several Rexes, and a couple of Spinos....


[oh and incase your confused, Shadow is mega raptor's character, semi abandoned. i took over his character for a few posts. Scar is his, but it's for him only. nobody is set to take Scar over if he is busy. Darkness and Onarus are both TT's vharacters, not set for anyone to take over in his absence. Exile and Blade are ERC's characters, but she's busy with MG, so we organized that i'd take control for her for a few days until things are back to normal. SharpClaw and Rawhide are HorseGal's characters, but she entrusted them to ERC, and since ERC's entrusted the characters under her control to me, i've taken over HG's too, temporarily of course.]

I wake up, and walk out of my cave. I go to the coast to find a meal. I spot a flock of Ramphorynchus, and begin to stalk them. I decide to attack, and charge. One flies off a moment too late, and I grab it by the leg, pulling it down. It tries to get away, but I pin it down, and stab its throat with my sickle claw. I begin to eat my prize.

Scar watched as the Velociraptors emerged from the forest, surrounding Exile, Rawhide and him. This pack was pretty isolated from the rest of the island, and rarely took kindly to outsiders, even of the same species. One of them, probably the pack leader, stepped forward. Who are you? he asked, suspcious.

My name is Scar, and these are my friends, Exile and Rawhide. We've come looking for my mate, who ran off after my treacherous brother took over the pack. Have there been any new raptors that have come here lately?

Yes, there was one. She told us that same story. However, I want proof that you are who you say you are. What is your mate's name and how did she get it?

Her name is Jade, she got it because she's dark green. The pack leader gestured his approval, and he lead the group to the cave where Jade had taken refuge. As soon as Scar saw her, he asked, Jade, are you all right?

I'm fine, Scar. Since you're here with two other pack members, I'm assuming that you've defeated Shadow?

No. I've decided not to become pack leader again. As we speak, Blade is defeating Shadow, and we'll be fine to return.

Jade cocked her head. Scar abandoning his post as pack leader? It seemed strange, but it might be a good thing. She had felt distant to her mate in the past few years, now that he had more time, perhaps that would change now. Alright, Jade growled. Let's go home.

Blade and SharpClaw watched Shadow being taken away by Crusher. They had done it. Shadow's terrible reign was now over. He turned to what was left of the pack and they roared with triumph. He roared along with them, and so did SharpClaw. She had been through a lot. Shadow had done so much to her. But they had got through it in the end, and the pack was going to be alright.

One of the raptors stopped roaring, and growled "Now all we need is for Scar to come back and everything will be back to normal" Blade heard this, and looked towards the pack. He would have to tell them

"Scar will be coming back soon, but he has made a desicion. He will not be re-claiming the crown of being pack leader"

The pack looked confused, and stared at eachother. 'Who will lead us?' they thought

SharpClaw shook her head, snapping out of the nightmare of which she had been forced to live. It was a new dawn, time for a new day. "I think Blade should lead us" She growled to the rest of the pack. " He was the one who beat Shadow. We'd still be under his control if it wasn't for him"

Blade laughed to himself as the pack all agreed with SharpClaw. He was to be the new leader for them. They had accepted him. And he didn't even need to tell them that Scar had passed the crown to him. They believed in him anyway.

He joined in once more with the victory roars and barks...
