Screams were heard all over com-links as fighters blew up, but the rest continued to fire upon the alien craft with their missiles and fixed laser guns. "Sir, seems like little resistance from these guys is coming from here! May not be their kingdom, repeat, may not be the-" was the words of the same pilot just before he had died, Hurgo hearing it all and sighing. "My lord, the pilots seemed to have picked up a tiny amount of defence forces in that area. I'm guessing it's not their homeworld after all," he said to the emperor, who lowered his head as the sounds of battle rang out in the commander's ears...

The spires continued tracking the small ships, eventually picking off most of them. With most of the enemy destroyed, the cannons stopped firing, an act of mercy for the survivors. Harvesters were launched to make use of the scrap metal floating around the area, gathering the wrecks of the fighters to add to the resources that were harvested from the planet.

Other exploration ships in orbit around the seven planets in the system opened communication with the new arrival.

"An Orakian ship under attack?" Was one message sent out. "Reinforcements are needed?" Was another. "Negative" The ship replied. "Most opposition crushed. This is Orakian Exploration ship 'Iopteryx', returning from a harvesting mission"
"Ah, Iopteryx. Is your ship heavilly damaged?"
"There is damage, but our technicians could handle it" The Iopteryx replied. "I see. Good luck on future harvests, Iopteryx" A ship messaged. "Same to you, Arenoira" The Iopteryx replied. The harvesters returned to the ship. Soon their payloads would be fed to the ship's own matter converters, and repairs would commence before the next operation.

The fighters fired a few missiles at the ship and harvesters before breaking off and jumped into hyper-space, heading home soon. One missile, however, fired a small beacon off at the alien craft as it neared before breaking in mid-flight. The small, barely noticable item clung to the ship, the fighters now able to track where their homeworld was...

Before long, the Orakian craft had fallen into the orbit of a large gas giant, the swirling brown and white clouds of the giant being signs of the tormultuous forces at work below. The ship's mechanics got to work with the repairs to the engine, while the ship's automated repair drive started to use the replenished resource stores to repair the ship's outer hull.

"Large energy signatures detected within a parsec's distance of our location." one of the armored insectoids said in the chittering native language of its species. The squad leader, in command of the reconnaissance vessel "Viereen" and the operations it might be involved in, nodded, looking toward a display ahead of him, showing sporadic energy bursts near a red star not far from their position. They were unlike the star's natural energy; clearly a sign of conflict. "Activate cloaking measures. Proceed carefully." the squad leader responded in a lower tone, wings flexing as he watched the display. A weak shield enveloped the ship, designed to shield energy emissions rather then protect against damage. To all sensors excluding optical ones, the ship was invisible. The craft began to creep toward the star system, hoping to find a planet of worth. Signs of conflict were not disheartening; in fact, it made them even more eager to investigate. Perhaps they were fighting over something worth fighting for...

Soon, the fighters exited hyper-space, but one unfortunate ship went out of control and dove into the endless pit of space, before crashing into their homeworld's moon. The rest of the pilots continued on towards the fleet, already knowing they failed for the moment, but one soon turned the beacon on, the radars of the ships within the fleet sparking up...

"What is this?" One of the Orakians at the Iopteryx's bridge asked, seeing a signal appear upon his console. He was the ship's radar opperator. "Secondary radar signiture detected on the ship. Too small to be a ship. It must be a beacon of some sort"
"Awfully adament, arent they?" Another Orakian commented, bracing back in their seat. "No more harvesting there I'd guess"
"Atleast we got a good haul of resources, despite the resistance" Another said. "Never the less" The radar operator said. "The beacon's been marked, the ship's defense system will get rid of it"

The beacon was too small to be destroyed easily by any gun defences on the ship, but others could bring it down in no time. The pilot kept the beacon up to continue to see if it functioned properly, just testing to see whether or not if it was actually a dud. "Sir, we got the location of that alien ship," the fighter squad's leader said into his communicator, while Hurgo said to the emperor, "my lord, the fighters failed to bring the ship down, but we'll be able to track it now - possibly all the way back to it's homeworld aswell..."

Seams started to appear around the panel that the beacon was on. Vapor shot out into space from all around it as the metal plate was slowly pulled into the ship, the interior hull rearranging. The panel would be sent to the mechanic bay, where automated systems would remove and destroy the beacon. Meanwhile a replacement panel was fitted into place, it slid and locked position perfectly. The entire operation only took a few minutes

The pilots soon noticed the changes in the beacon, figuring out the crew aboard the alien craft figured out the beacon was upon the ship. "Huh? They must've altered the settings in that thing!" a ship's crew member cried out, while others within the fleet were preparing for possible war, some carriers and cruisers going down to their homeworld's surface to pick up soldiers...

A mechanical arm passed over the panel, stopping over the beacon. The arm ended with two prong like fingers that were lowered onto either side of the beacon. There was a crackling noise as electricity was run from either fingers, bombarding the beacon until it deactivated. With the beacon neutralized, it was plucked off of the panel and discarded, the arm moving off to tend to another part in the mechanical deck. The panel itself was moved off to be reintergrated with the hull system. Workers inside the ship oversaw the processes with careful watch, making sure things ran smoothly.

A captain aboard one ship slammed his fist down upon a table-top within his cruiser, while cursing and soon said, "they destroyed the tracking beacon! Fighter squad leader, can you take the fleet to the area where you had last encountered that alien ship?" Hang on, sending coordinates... and, get ready the start up every ships' hyper-drive!" the pilot replied, flying within the hangar of a carrier with the rest of his squad...

General Rukh, upon the docks of the battle station, stands before his Sheekh legion, numbering in the tens of thousands, with about two dozen heavily armored Grhu'loks within there, plasma cannons attatched to their backs. Among them were also some Wrehn skirmishers and also some krug berserkers, armed with heavy plasma casters. The general speaks. "My fellow soldiers! Our empire has grown STRONG over the years it has existed. But now, it is time for us to expand our borders, and gather more resources for our ever growing population. We will swoop in and smash all resistence against. Those who stand in our way will be annihilated. My warriors- prepare for battle!" The soldiers roar in agreement before heading into the giant, albeit barbaric looking, dropships. Rukh smiles before he, too, enters. Perhaps this will be easier than expected....

As 0261 heads deeper into the abandoned part of the city, something immediately. Felt off. She could smell life, but there was no movement, nor was there any noise to indicate something was here. "MOTHER" moved slowly, being careful despite her large size....

The hyper-drive boosters in every ship's engine within the space fleet began to start up, the massive vehicles turning in the direction of the other solar system, before firing off into hyper-space. Soldiers got prepared all on the ships, while pilots fixed their fighters, bombers or dropships, getting them ready for battle. Saurugan riders began putting armor on their pets, making them more protected for battle...

The Sheekh juggernauts shoot off into outer space, as the dropships begin heading towards a planet that is not occupied by them yet. Rukh sits patiently in his ship. This war can make the empire infinitely stronger.... or pathetically weak. The legion was strong, but not unstoppable. Even the most elite Sheekh sodleirs couldn't fight off the whole of a planet's population with anything less than total orbital annihilation......

The prototype's caution payed off. From the buildings, a brumak-like beast emerged from the ruined city. Possibly another of the empire's experiments, like me, 0261 thought. As the beast rushes her, she fired her twin plasma mortars, hitting the beast in the chest. IOt groans in pain before slowing down. "MOTHER" fires again, but the beast ducked and lunged forward, punching the her in the face. snarling, the prototype chomps down on her foe's arm, the sounds of bones cracking audible. The creature screeches in pain before bringing its other hand down onto "MOTHER's" head. She lets go before slashing the creature with her claws across its gut, effectively disemboweling it. With a final bellow of pain, the creature falls over and goes limp........

The fleet continued through hyper-space, nearing the area of intrest in time, but still weren't close enough to stop. "Make sure that the army is ready, I want them prepared for war!" the fleet's admiral exclaimed, as army captains checked every soldier on each ship...

Activity was detected on one of the planets: A gas giant, something difficult to attack, considering its lack of solid surface. Plotting a course further into the system, the reconnaissance vessel was focused on a terrestrial planet closer to the star. By their readings, it was mostly volcanic. Such heat affected the Vespid little, considering their own homeworld. They would investigate and, if the planet proved habitable, set up a forward base on its surface...

When the energy signitures of the fleet's hyperspace jump reached the Iopteryx, the call to arms was sent out to the other ships in the system. The Arenoira and five other ships made their way towards the giant planet, while the Iopteryx pulled out of its orbit. It swung itself about so that its broad side was facing the incoming enemies, spire cannons at charge. The other craft were also priming their weapons. Pulling up behind them was an Orakian Haelbram, a battle oriented ship meant for escorting ships. Its stay in the system was for mere repairs and restock until now. The ship was quite larger than the exploration ship, but shared the basic design, but instead of a wedge shaped bow, this craft tapered down to a needle like point. Around said point were a few spires that curved downwards to point at the needle tip. There were two bulges on either side of the craft, spire cannons mounted on each of them, though on the starboard side there was a large circle with strange red glowing cables sprialing along the edges that spiralled down a chamber into the ship. Obviously some sort of heavy energy cannon. It too was priming its weaponry as it moved into position.

The ships soon exited the hyper-space jump, and the small defensive cannons on the flanks, top and bottom of each destroyer and cruiser, while the carriers went towards a planet different than the gas giant to drop troops off. Fighters left some bays of carriers along with bombers and dropships, meant for infiltrating the enemy ships...

The Arenoira and two other craft moved in to intercept the carrier ships. Flying underneath the carriers, the Orakian vessels opened fire with their fully charged barrage, the spiralling green beams battering the hulls of the enemy transports. The Iopteryx and the three other Orakian ships opened fire on the fighters, bombers and drop ships, using burst fire. The combined attack of the four ships decimated their numbers rappidly, while the Haelbram moved in from above, its spire cannons aimed at the rest of the fleet. Fully charged, each one could severely damage or destroy medium sized ships in one hit.
