Rick heard the shout of Barnes and shouted himself:"Barnes? Is that you?" and began to run in it's direction, a small sigh of relief escaping him. He was still going over what had happened in his mind, the speed that the animal had simply destroyed the osprey and how the mercs had been sent into retreat so easily. The merc said quietly to himself:"I didn't sign up for this! I did not join the army to get attacked by a Dinosaur!"

The raptor pack lifted their heads as one, interested by the unfamiliar calls echoing through the trees. One of them gave a low whistle-like sound, and another responded with a growl. Before long they were all chattering and bobbing their heads in excitement. An easy meal? Maybe. If those two-leggeds had been scattered by an attack....Silently the small predators headed in the direction of the calls, silent and swift shadows against the underbrush.

Riley soon returned to the slowly reforming group, staring at Dodgson, prepared to hit the man with a fist. "Ok, what the hell was that?!" The ferious man asked, his hand still in the form of a fist...

[The Kingpin]

Jacob eyed the others through the undergrowth, his back against one of the trees, his dark clothing hiding him in the shadows. he dared not step out and join them. There was no guarantee that other animals weren't being lured to them by the noisy calling Barnes had been doing mere moments ago. it was a disaster waiting to happen. but with a bit of luck, the creatures wouldn't see him before he saw them. a hand was wrapped around the grip of his large survival knife, wary of anything attempting to sneak up on him. his senses were on high alert, wary of his surroundings, at this point expecting the enemy to be everywhere. He'd have to make a move away from this place. soon. he couldn't risk becoming a target for a large number of predators...

Across from Jacob was David, also making sure to stick to the shadows and take full advantage of his combat suit, which allowed him to blend into the darkness better. He had his gun at the ready and the flaps of two compartments on either side of his belt undone. If one looked closely enough, they could make out the black hilts of his knives. The mercenary made a quick gesture with his hand, waving it over the underbrush to alert the other soldier of his pressence.

Barnes placed himself between Riley and Dodgson, who backed off, raising his hands defensively. "Stand down! Now is not the time to be trying to kill each other. Besides..." Barnes gave Dodgson a sideways glare. "I'm sure Mr. Dodgson has plenty of motivation to explain everything, doesn't he?" Dodgson quickly nodded. "Good," Barnes growled. He looked over the mercs arrayed before him. Most of them were here, and the few that were would almost certainly arrive soon enough. That, or they were dead, and Barnes had bigger issues. This many fully grown men lugging around guns and crashing through thick jungle was going to attract unwanted attention, if it hadn't already. "Alright, everyone, make a perimeter and keep your eyes and ears open! We don't want to be ambushed by anything else! We'll head back to the Osprey in 3 minutes. We'll figure out our next move there. If the rest of the mercs haven't arrived by then, we're leaving them behind. Hopefully, our prehistoric friend will be gone by then!"

Jacob nodded, informing the fellow merc that he knew he was there, but no more. the less he did, the less of a risk he ran of drawing an attacker's attention from the others...

A slender head poked out of a large fern; the raptor's yellow eyes were watchful. It let out a soft sound that was somewhere between a purr and a coo. The head bobbed once, twice, and then two more heads appeared. The three raptors moved forward cautiously, still able to hear the sounds the two-leggeds were making. One of them paused and looked around, sniffing quietly. Another bent to nose a pile of leaves that had been kicked up recently by something's panicked dash through the jungle. The third was listening intently not for prey, but for danger, cocking its head this way and that, wanting to be sure all was clear before calling to the rest of the pack.

"Huh, stand down?!" Riley continued, "we just lost two men back there! You want us to remain calm when those, THINGS, are still out there?!"

"That's precisely why!" Barnes growled. "The more you rant and rave, the more likely we're going to get unwanted attention! Do you want that... that..." "Tyrannosaurus," Dodgson said quietly. "Yeah, T. rex, whatever the hell it was. Do you want to meet it again?!"

[UndeadRaptor]

"I'll calm down as soon as we get a explaination!" Riley snapped back, turning to Dodgson before continuing, "and our little 'friend' over here obviously knows what's going on...*

Once Jacob gave him confirmation, David silently moved back, keeping in the shadows of the large trees around him. He then held his gun just off his side, ready to pull it up to eye level and fire rounds into any threat he saw. He shut off the laser sight on the rifle so that it couldnt give away his position. His eyes scoured the underbrush for anything lying in ambush or moving into attack position. He paid attention to the littlest sound he heard, but for the most part he could only hear panicked shouts from one of the mercenaries. "Simmer the **** down...!" David muttered under his breath, the prospect of missing out on key details about the enviroment because a fellow soldier lost his composure irritating him.

In the excitment Hiero had traveled slightly away from the others and had climbed a tree. He lay there on a branch hidden by leaves, he was currently fighting the panic he felt within himself. He remained absoulutly silent his Galil clutched in his hands very stiffly. As he began to calm down his brain began to process what had just happened, a giant red monster had just attacked them and they had scattered, he remembered seeing the creature flip the aircraft no doubt it was gone and destroyed. Hiero uncontiously whispered a prayer before realizing he was alone. "Well I can add no support to my long list of problems," he said to himself. "And if I ever see that Dodgeson ever again he will meet my blade for his sheer stupidity! These are not animals, they are monsters," he grumbled under his breath, he would wait for some time to pass before going to see the wreck of the Osprey.

A few minutes later, Rick was close enough to hear the voices of Barnes and Dodgson. He walked out of the undergrowth, seeing that many of the mercs had managed to escape from the dinosaur and had regrouped. His eyes focused on Dodgson and gave him a glare before focusing his attention back to his commander...

"Mr. Dodgson will explain everything when we get back to the LZ," Barnes replied patiently. "Now please, for the sake of everyone's well-being, shut your d*mn mouth!"

[Godzilla Forever]

Maxwell soon arrives where the others were, the merc huffing and puffing, before he says, "Dear lord..... the... the rex...." He simply Takes a couple more breaths before heading over the Barnes. "I... I think... we've got..... more on our hands... than you told us about..." He then sits down, tired from running so much....

The raptor trio, following the scent of an isolated individual, paused at the base of a tree, sniffing interestedly. The scent went up; the two-legged they'd followed had climbed. One of them, the blue markings identifying it as a young male, chattered excitedly and looked up. The other two exchanged glances and began to circle the tree, their low growls eager and hungry. They might have something trapped here that, while barely large enough to provide a few small mouthfuls to them and the pack, would wet their appetites for bigger game.

"He doesn't even know what's goin' on out here either," Riley said to himself, backing off and turning around to look away from the others. He walked over to Maxwell and whispered to him, "Dodgson's been hiding something from us. We're gonna have to find a way to spill the info out of him now before we get attacked again, eh?"

[Godzilla Forever]

Maxwell nods. "I've got a combat knife," he whispers. "Should we threaten him to leave him as dino chow?"

Riley nodded, but continued on, "Barnes is still accompaning him. We'll need someone to distract that guy first..."
