James shook his head when Adeline asked that question and said "well, i didn't want to even say it, but, let's just say it would be the very thing the man in the tavern wanted of you.". James then looked at Yuke and said "that would be a good idea, although we'd be slowing down.". he waited for Adeline's response to what he'd said earlier. he was expecting a very disgusted response, but was ready for it. he wasn't the one who'd asked about it...

The woman gave him a disgusted look. She held back the urge to slap him for thinking of such a thing. "You know very well that I wouldn't go for that.....even if the crew was desperate." She heard Yuke's idea. "I agree. It sounds good for the men. And I could sing. They need some fun. We could hold it during the evening on one of the ships."

James said "firstly, i knew it wouldn't please you to hear that idea, and, your not the only one who disagrees with it, which is why i said it was out of the question. as for the night of merriment, i see the Dauntless is the largest ship in the fleet, so we will hold it there. we'll need lookouts to watch for any possible attackers.". James had another sip of his chocolate milk and saw the monkey going for the bag of chocolate powder. he very calmly drew his pistol and shot it, pinning it against a wall. Yuke and Adeline were startled and looked at him, annoyed. James said "what?...what?!...i wasn' goin to le' it scoff my chocolate!". the 2 sighed and James said "anyway, who agrees to the idea that the Night of Merriment is held on the Dauntless?"

"Aye, I agree." But Adeline grew curious as to who suggested such a thing. "James. Who was it that suggested such a thing?" She was thinking maybe she should have a little talk with that certain person who suggested such a thing. Give him something to fear about.

She looked at the parrot and rolled her eyes. She asked the question again. "Tell me now, James." She tried to keep as calm as possible. "If he was thinking it...he'll get a slap. And I'll make sure it's a hard one."

James was honestly glad she didn't shoot the parrot. he said "alright then....Nathaniel did it! :P ". he knew what was coming. he just thanked god she couldn't send a bunch of stupid pirates after him on his own ship. 'ere we go... thought James...

Adeline smirked. "Ok, thank you. One minute." She walked out to find the first mate of the captain and gave him a good slap on the face. There was a little bit of yelling on Adeline's part. She took out her sword and threatened him just like she did with the guy at the tavern. She came back in the captain's cabin when she was done with a refreshing look on her face. "That helped." She settled back down and drunk the rest of her rum.

James really wanted to laugh, although Nathaniel talked about the events in the tavern once, he never suggested the idea. but James was thinking of his conversation with Nathaniel when the meeting started, so he still deserved it. James made sure his inside thoughts and emotions were absolutely hidden, to avoid getting her temper turned to him. he already had a woman attack him for no good reason. that one covered for this one, in his book. he asked "anyone wan' more rum? or chocoli' milk?". Yuke said "rum for me, mate!", so a mug of rum was given to him. James had added 2 tablespoons worth of salt to his mug before giving it to him. the result drove James mad! Yuke drank it all, in one gulp and said "that's the best rum i've had in ages! is that what the barkeep was selling?!". James looked down at the barrel near the small table where all his rum mugs were kept. it was one of the old rum barrels that had terrible rum inside, yet Yuke said it was the best he'd had in ages! how was it possible, to have that rum taste good enough to be mistaken for the barkeep's rum!? James said "i'm not sure.". he scooped up another mugful and put 2 tablespoons of salt in it, the drank it. he immediately spat it out, and yelled "Curse you Yuke!!!". Yuke couldn't help but laugh his head off.

Adeline couldn't help but laugh. "Always getting the captain!" She shook her head and went to drink more rum from her mug. It was empty. She cursed silently. "This.....Night of Merriment," she began. "When will it be held? Tonight? Tommorow. Oh and James?" She looked him in the eye and smirked. "Be sure to give a warning out to all your crew about me. Use Nathaniel as an example as to what happens when I hear that kind of talk about me."

James, who was coughing and spluttering, drank a mouthful of his chocolate milk, before saying "the Night of Merriment should be tommorow night. i'll have the men bring up 4 barrels of rum from the hold. i suggest you two do the same. we'll have the ships side by side, with the boarding planks put out. as for Nathaniel, i think the crew already know what to do.", and jerked his thumb over his shoulder, at the small window beneath the stairs, where the crew had collected, talking about how Adeline had threatened Nathaniel. the whole time through the argument, Nathaniel was repeating "what did i do?", making him sound even more guilty, almost as though he was saying "you can't prove anything", while Adeline yelled til her eyes looked as if they would pop out of her head. one of the crew from Isla Muella whispered to some of his friends, in spanish "senora loco". the men laughed but then caught the eye of Adeline staring at them and the smiles immediately disappeared.

James asked "now that we're finished on that subject, anyone want any Rum? proper rum this time  , from one of the barrels...".
Yuke raised his hand. "Adeline, would you like some?" asked James and waited for a response...

She nodded. "Rum would do me some good." She was now calm about the whole thing. By now the crew must know not to mess with her, or any tough pirate woman for that matter. She turned her head to look out the window, seeing that the crew were talking about how she threatened Nathaniel. The whole time she remembered him saying, "What did I do?" But Adeline didn't take any heed to that. At least, for now she didn't. "He's just probably covering up.."

She let go of that subject for now.

James said "Rum it is!" and filled 3 mugs with the good rum from the barkeep. he had already finished the Chocolate milk. they finished drinking, talking about what arrangements would be made, how they would light the deck enough to dance, what instruments they would play [the only things they had were a couple of tribal drums, a Spanish rattle, a violin [which only Yuke knew how to play] and an old Spanish guitar [which James could play quite well]. the celebration would have the Captains and a few, select, crew members as the musicians. Adeline would sing, James and Yuke would play their instruments, which both knew how to play very well. after things were organized, the captains were escorted to their ships and slept for the night.

Adeline slept peacefully that night, thinking about the celebration that they would have for tommorow night. She sighed lightly and turned, slowly falling asleep.

The next day, Adeline woke up bright and early. She changed into a cream colored tunic with blacks pants and also picked out a dress for tommorow night. The dress that she picked out was indeed beautiful. She didn't show the captains or the crew yet. She kept it a secret for some time. They would be in for a big suprise tonight, for the dress looked absolutely stunning. It was a deep red color with gold on the sides. A smile formed on her face as she thought about what their reactions would be when they see her in it. But she will not wear it yet.

After putting the dress away in a safe place, Adeline attached her rapier and her two pistols. She walked out of her cabin and ordered her crew in her loud, commanding voice. She made sure that the crew were doing their jobs and not just laying around. "Come on! Let's set out for sailing, men." She watched each of their actions carefully. Allen was steering the ship for her while she was walking around. At last, the woman decided to steer it for a while. She nodded for Allen to go while she steered the ship.

James woke up at 5:25 that morning, with a bit of a headache, and was in a bad mood. he got his gear on, his golden, ruby incrested double barrel Pistol on his left side and his black and gold sword on his right, tied on the sash and bandanna, then went to the galley and had the cabin boy get him some milk ready. the last time he'd had ome chocolate milk, it helped him with a small head and neck ache he had, so he thought he'd use it again. when he got back, he found the monkey eating the chocolate powder. he drew his pistol and unloaded 2 shots into the undead monkey, blowing it off of the chocolate and into the old barrel of rum. James hurried and covered the barrel, and put a pile of books on top of it. he then got himself a mug, filled it with 2 teaspoons of chocolate powder and took it to the galley, pouring the milk into the mug. after drinking the whole mug of chocolate milk, he felt fine. " no more headache... "thought James. he then went onto the deck, went to the other side of the ship, down the stairs to the hammocks that the crew were STILL sleeping in, and yelled "get out of yer 'ammocks you scabless dogs! there's work to be done! Black Jack! get up and get 4 barrels of rum taken up to the deck now! Willy! start scrubbing the decks! the rest of you scurvvy dogs get up and do your usual work! we need to get moving if you want to see land again!". by now, the whole crew was up, the hammocks tied to the ceiling and the crew on deck. Nathaniel was now the captain of the Dauntless, and undoubtedly doing exactly what James was that very moment. James went back on deck to see Adeline at the wheel of her ship. he got up, went up to the ship's wheel and yelled "Adeline! enjoy the steering!" and got to his own wheel and handled the ship. Yuke got out of bed, had a bottle of rum, patted the head of his pet Parrot and started sending crew in all sorts of directions. soon, he was doing what James, Adeline and Nathaniel were doing...

"Aye, sir!", shouted Adeline back to James. She looked ahead. Her crew were still working. Allen was making sure to keep them in line. "You will get a special suprise at the end of this evening," said Adeline with a wink to her crew. "One that you all deserve for your hard work." She saw that the crew were tired, but they didn't stop working. The thought of the special suprise kept them in that working mode. Some wondered what the suprise was going to be. The captains didn't tell the crew yet about their Night of Merriment.

James told his new First Mate, Rafael the Butcher, to make sure the new crew kept to their work. Rafael was one of the people who could carry 2 full barrels of rum on his shoulders and still think straight. He had enough brains to plan an attack on a 5 ship squadron of 30 gun warships using a couple of gun boats with 5 cannocs each. his strength, intelligence and loyalty were unrivaled. the only reason Nathaniel was made First Mate before him was because of Nathaniels superior sailing ability. Rafael was named "The Butcher" for his casual personality. he once slaughtered 10 men who were trying to lay their hands on his sister and mother, then went to the tavern and had a drink, as though nothing had happened!

James yelled "Men! for those of you who didn' 'ear Captain Adeline, everyone is in for a surprise this evenin'! all the crew on all the ships! BUT! only if you work well today!"

She nodded and smirked. "You'll see what it is!" She said this to one of the crew members who questioned her. "But get working on my ship, now!" Adeline appointed Allen to steer the ship for a little while, while she watched the men work. If only they knew about the suprise. She shook her head at some of the whispering that was going on while they were working. She went to the edge of the deck to look out at the open sea.

It was a beautiful morning. Dolphins were swimming up against the mighty ships. A smile appeared on Adeline's face as she glanced down at the beautiful sea mammals. She wished that she had some sort of fish to toss to them.

Adeline continued walking up and down her ship, thinking about tonight. She still wondered what the men would think of her dress. Would they be suprised? Flabbergasted? She didn't know.

James watched Yuke shoot the monkey through the window. "Yuke! how about i pass you the monkey?! you might find it useful!" yelled James. Yuke responded by saying "pass it over, James!". James got to the dazed monkey, picked it up by the tail and threw it across to the Barbarian, where it landed head first. James then continued walking around deck. having reloaded his pistol, he was ready for an attack if one happened any time soon...
