James nodded. he told his first mate to get the largest longboat on the ship, and rowed inland and watched as large numbers of natives, almost pitch black in colour, stared down on them from the river banks. they reached a hut. it was the only one around, so James got up and told his first mate to watch the boat, then continued climbing with Yuke and Adeline following. the first mate nodded and looked at one of the crew and told him to watch the boat, then followed the Captain. the crew member nodded and looked at Rainbow the macaw and told him to watch the boat, then continued walking, following the first mate. Rainbow looked at a fish that had hopped into the boat earlier and said "watch the boat! raaaaaaaak!" and started walking behind them.

Adeline followed the men into the Shack. She found that the Shack had a mystical feeling to it. It had all kinds of odd things in here. There was a boa slithering across the rafters. Strange mystical trinkets surrounded the Shack. The woman wondered if this voodoo woman would truly help them. "She probably would. James' father knows her."

"ahh! filthy dressed up monkey!" said James and shot it. it just skidded across the floor and kept going. James looked at his lovely powerful Pistol in disappointment, then said "ahh! filthy undead dressed up mokey!". a strange woman came into view and said "Jack, your back!" with a smile. she called him Jack. he responded by telling her he was Jack's son. the woman nodded and said "you'rrr jussst like your father. he used to shoot the monkey when he wasss angry. soooo, what bringsss you to meee, Jamessss?"

"i want to find out where my father is, what happened to him and how to get him back" said James.
the strange woman nodded and said "you and yourrr friends arre the sssecond group to come to me asking how to sssave him. you need to chase willl with the compass you have. it'll take you after will. he is going where you need to go."

"But how does that strange compass work? How does it lead him to Will? What's the secret?" Adeline really wanted to know how it worked. She didn't understand how it could lead to him. "It doesn't even work," she finally stated with a sigh.

Tia Dalma said "the compasssss is magical. it points to whatever the barer desiress mossst. right now, Jamesss desires to find and rescue hiss Father, Jack. if he can make himsself desire to find Will and follow himm, the arrow will point in Will'ss direction."

James looked at Tia Dalma and said "what can we do to help my father?". Tia looked at him and said "jusst follow and join will. he knowss where to go."
Jack nodded and turned around, to see the entire boat crew standing behind him. he heard a monkey screach and looked around to see Rainbow pecking at it's head. James yelled "Rainbow! stop eating the undead dressed up monkey! you don't know where it's been!". at that, Rainbow locked its legs on the monkey's clothes and picked it up, flying out a window and dropping it in the river. he came back and landed on James' shoulder. James looked at the people who had been standing behind him and said "if you 2 are here, who's watching the boat?".
the first mate pointed at the crew member, who pointed at Rainbow, who raised a wing, pointing at the boat and said "Fish..raaaak!"
James just sighed and said "its hard to find good help these days...".

the monkey climbed on the little dock outside Tia's house, and James drew his pistol and shot it, the shot hitting it in the face and sending it into the water. he looked at Tia and said " i dont blame my father for shooting it when he was angry. it's good target practice and annoying..." he told the crew to bag up the monkey. he did as he was told. they returned to the ships.

"Oh. That's pretty interesting," said Adeline with a nod when she found out how it worked.

Then James noticed the crew and asked who was watching the boat. It turns out that a fish was watching it. The woman shook her head and watched as the scene unfolded. She sighed when James shot at the monkey. "Well, as long as it helps..." She walked out of the shack and to the ships, following James.

when everyone was safely aboard the ship, James had a meeting with the other Captains and offered them drinks. both asked for rum, and James went out and said he'd get it, since he had a good barrel saved up that no one knew about. he went down into the bowels of his ship, and got the mugs and went to the barrel. he filled 2 up with rum and the 3rd he filled with saltwater and a small crab he saw crawling around on the ground. he returned and gave the rum filled one to Adeline, and the Saltwater filled one to Yuke. he went to the desk and picked up the compass, not noticing that Yuke had switched his and James' bottles around. James opened the compass and had a look. it pointed east. he looked at Yuke as he drank his saltwater.....but he didn't cough or splutter. he drank it. maybe he didn't want to admit that i got him thought James. he took a big gulp of his own Rum, spat it out and yelled in agony. the crab was caught on his tongue. he pulled his pistol, turned toward the window and blew the Crab to pieces. he looked at Yuke and said "well, now thish ish getting annoying!"
Yuke laughed and said "it was either you or me, mate! and i'm not going to get a crab pinned on my tongue!"

James got annoyed at how ridiculous it was to have his own trick backfire on him. he asked Yuke to hold the compass, since he only wanted a bottle of real rum to numb the pain, and the compass would go crazy if he held it.

Adeline laughed. "Looks like you have to try again later, James," she said between laughs. She drunk her bottle of rum. It felt good to be drinking rum again. She set the bottle down after she took a drink of it.

after James finally got his mug of REAL rum [first in ages...], and the pain had subsided, he took the compass, had the captains escorted to their ships and set sail, chasing after Will, and whatever company he had with him...

Adeline shook her head when she saw the two men. "Men..." She heard the comment of women being good company and was slightly offended by their talk. She whipped around to look at them. "I beg your pardon?" But then James starts to sing. She calmed down and smiled, watching. Soon, she joined in singing.

" were devils, black sheep, really bad eggs, drink up me harties yo ho! i love this song! really Bad eggs!" yelled James, slightly drunk because of the tremendous amounts of rum he'd had to numb the pain on his tongue.
" and Yuke! before i bother with "company", i am going to look for my father. after i get him back, THEN we can have all the company we want!" said James, then looked at Adeline, who'd stopped singing and stared at him again. he continued "YO HO YO HO A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME!..."
Adeline just laughed and joined in, James was just too funny to stay mad at for long...

James smiled when he arrived at the dock. very organised and it had that unique Spanish personality that he always liked. he walked into the Shipyard and was surprised at how organised it was. the only other shipyard as good as this was the british.

James had his First Mate sail the Beauty into the shipyard. he asked the shipwright to fix it the best he can, using the exact same type of wood already used on the ship. the shipwright nodded and got to work. he asked for 2000 gold. it was a massive price tag for a small repair job, and James managed to persued him to fix it for 1500 instead. he went to the market to buy himself a new Spyglass. he found one that looked very elegant. James asked if he could try it out. the shopkeeper agreed hesitantly, and James picked it up, opened it and looked out of it, pointing towards the fort. he could see a guard who was supposed to be on duty, drinking a bottle of rum. the man stumbled and fell over the edge. Ja,es said "this Spyglass is bad luck. do you have another one just like it?"
the shop keeper nodded and gave him another similar one, which was black with gold patterns on it. it looked even more elegant than the first. he looked through it and watched the man come out of the water and walk back to the garrison. he also saw a british battleship anchored out of the harbor, about 5 nautical miles from the port. he asked the shopkeeper how much the spyglass cost, and the shop keeper replied "500 gold, senor!". James was knocked back in shock at the price. he kept negotiating prices until the man made the price 250. James smiled and gave him 300, saying "the 250 is for the spyglass. the extra 50 is for information. the shopkeeper smiled in delight and asked "what do you want to know senor?". James said "firstly, i want to know if anyone by the name of Will Turner may have come by here. secondly, i want to know why that British battleship is floating out there waiting.". the shopkeeper frowned and said "for your first question, i believe a man by that name sailed away on a corvette, 9 hours ago. your second question, the battleship is blockading us from the french, to weaken them. we trade with everyone else, but not the french. we don't care much, since the only thing those people are good at at the moment, is wine and women. we Spanish have our own tastes in both, so we don't care." James smiled, thanked the man and walked away, to see Yuke heading for the shipyard. he decided to follow him, curious what he might do...

James walked up to his friend and said "sell your ship and by that one!". Yuke smiled and said "it still wouldn't be enough. James said oh yes it will. he walked up to the Shipwright, an assistant to the one he spoke to earlier, and negotiated with him until the shipwright got so bored he agreed to sell it for half the price of the Barbarian. James continued to argue until the man added a free set of cannons...

James smiled at Yuke and said "see? all you need is some persuasion!"
Yuke laughed and thanked James and went to the Shipwright...

after helping Yuke buy a sword, James went to the Tavern and rested. the next morning, he went to see how his ship was doing. it was fully repaired and James found that the shipwright had used exactly the same type of wood. James had a look in the shipyard and found there was also a large 98 gun Battleship for sale. but it was far from his pockets at the moment, with a price tag of 5,500,000 fold pieces. he wanted a new ship, but even if he sold the Black Dragon, negotiated, sold the 2 large Gems and all the cargo and guns, he still wouldn't have enough money to arm her with cannons and crew and ammunition. he sighed and then thought about the lovely british warship outside of the port. he wondered if the governor wanted it removed and how much he'd pay for the removal of a british warship. he went to Yuke and Adeline to tell them his idea...
