The officers were still unaware of how close Natasha actually was to them, instead searching the area for clues as the mortally wounded man was driven off to emergency....

Jackson continued on his way back, unaware of what had happened.... but he suddenly recieved a call.

"****..." Jackson said as he glanced at his phone. It was buff. It is probably important, so he answered.

"Hey! You hear about the shooting?" Buff inquired.

"What shooting?" Jackson growled.

"Yeah, some guy's been shooting up the city, wearing some fancy suit. The officers are all looknig for him!" Buff said.

A smile spread on Jackson's face. "You mean...?"

"Yeah, I do," Buff said. "Now's a good time to raid that bank!"

Jackson smiled and replied, "I'll be at our base soon."

He then began to hussle, knowing that an opportunity like this was few and far between...

The heads-up-display in her helmet suddenly light up again, higlighting the explosives with red icons. "What?" , She thought to herself, "That means those are being detonated but I...."

To Natasha the blast wasn't loud. More like a single, low-pitched tone, that blotted out her hearing. If not for her helmet her eardrums would have ruptured. The armored villian, caught off-gaurd by her own explosives didn't have time to lock-down her armor, and was tossed about like a ragdoll.

"****!"

The boom from the explosion was immediately heard by any and all in the general vicinity. Civilians nearby quickly ran as soon as they recovered from the shock of the thundering explosion. Aya, along with about 10 other cops, rushed towards the explosion's location, intent on finding what caused it....

Jackson sprinted to his base of operations, barging through the front door and slamming it shut as soon as he could, panting and wheezing, hyperventilating before he quickly regained his composure. Buff and Tux, along with 3 other heavily armed thugs, were waiting for him.

"Let's go, people! We gotta do this quick or miss our opportunity!" Jackson bellowed between deep breaths.

The thugs all nodded and rushed out to a couple of inconspicuous looking vehicles. Jackson followed suite, and they sped off towards their destination.

Max sighed as he heard about the troubles in the city via the news. He'd need to investigate these things... perhaps....

Despite knowing his powers rarely awaken past the nightime, the superbeing decided he should check around to see if he could learn more about this stuff. unfortunately, he shut the TV off just before the explosion became breaking news...

After some walking, the two girls were now standing infront of an inconspicuous apartment, numbered 1516. Tiffany reached out, and knocked on the door, before she waited. Surely, this was the right place...

"Hello" A voice called out from inside as the door opened up. Before them stood a tall, 6ft woman, dressed in what appeared to be french maid attire, right on down to the white headband on her head. She had dark blue eyes, and silvery hair that was in braids on each side of her face, with green bows at the end. What surprised Minene the most about this person, however, were the roman numerals, numbered 1 to 12, on the bottom of the apron she wore.

"It's nice to see that the Maidenator's back in town." Tiffany grinned. "So, how was your little trip."

The woman chuckled. "I haven't heard that nickname in years... of course you'd be the one to bring that up here and now, Tiff." She replied, prompting a scold from the scientist. "As for the trip itself..." She gestured the two of them to come on in, and with that, they entered into the apartment, and closed the door behind them... right into the screen of the scorpion-bot that had been following them secretly...

as Atlas headed for the holding cells, the familiar ring of his cell phone got his attention, the man swiftly answering the device as he brought it to his ear. "Yes?" he asked, lready knowing who it was. "Just the routine updates. Our little speed demon? Seems he's getting used to his newfound abilities. High Speed Cameras monitoring his house have caught him in what looks like some former halloween costume" said the man on the other end of the phone. "It won't last. at those speeds the outfit'll likely tear itself apart at the seams around the joints soon" answered Atlas calmly. "Exactly. Whatever the case, we intend to maintain surveillance at a distance for a while and see if any other developments occur. We've looked into his background and will have his file delivered to you this evening" replied the man. "That's great. Anything else?" answered Atlas briefly. "Well, there's the lunatic blowing things up across the city, But I'm assuming you already know that from the news" said the man. "No, actually, I didn't. Don't have a telly nearby. Anyway, keep an eye on that if you can. I want to know who was doing it as soon as possible" said Atlas firmly. "Understood. I'll get back to you when I find out more" said the man, the call ending almost immediately afterwards as Atlas put his phone away...

Dust followed him as he tore down the abandoned trail. What once was a bike route was now no better than a vacant lot, discarded and forgotten. Weeds secured a gnarled grip on the side of the dirt road. The trees were untrimmed and grew wildly, meaning only a few specks of sunlight made it down to the floor. Bottles and cans were cast aside into bushes and shrubs, logs and fallen branches posed hazards to everyone willing traverse the fenced off route. It was exactly what made the place ideal for the fleet footed mutant. He shot across the trail, leaping over the obstacles and exploring the feats of acrobatics he could do at speed. Flips and spins through the air before coming back to the heavens, powering across the land before experiencing the feeling of flight for seconds at a time, gaining so much height that he almost found himself lodged in the tree tops on more than one occasion. For the past week he had spent hours of his day practicing, tailoring himself to deal with his powers here. His father was less worried about his son now that he was more active and spending time outside. Archie thought Kevin was among friends and was comforted by how his son seemed to be in better spirits as of late. He had no idea what he was doing far from the prying eyes of society... though even now he was being observed...

Not that he knew. Kevin's main concern during his outings was his makeshift disguise, which was being stretched out and in some places, frayed. It could not put up with the forces being applied to it...

Sam, a little ways behind Atlas, didn't catch the whole of the conversation. He aimed a curious look at his old friend, but said nothing. They met up with Lydia outside Dean's cell, just as she was locking the door behind her. She gave a low sigh, looking in at him, then turned a gaze darkened by seriousness to the approaching men. "It may be too late for him," she said, "but I gave them both their serums. All we can do now is wait and watch."

Natasha saw only a blurred world. Her visor was cracked, and broken half open near her left eye. The electronic Heads-Up-Display was sparking sporadically and illegable. Her head felt like she'd been kicked by a race horse. And that was just he beginning of her problems. Her ears were rinning a single, super-sharp tone, wich wasn't helping to alleviate her headache. She tried moveing her head, but ended up being sent more blurred and warped colors, and the world started spinning again.

The cops waded through the cloud of dust and debris, intent on finding the culprit of the explosion. Aya decided to hang back a bit; perhaps she would be able to spot them if they were higher up...

"Come out with your hands raised!" one of the cops shouted. He wanted their intentions to be clear (as if they usually weren't). After all, if they caught this criminal, the streets would be made a bit more safe....

Jackson and his crew sped along, ignoring most thigns in their way, save for pedestrians and stoplights. They did, after all, have to stay at least a little bit descrete about this.... until they reached their destination...

Coughing up the still settling dust, Natasha attempted to sit upright. Her efforts were instantly met with a feeling of nasuea, along with a painful migrane. She heard some blurred noises, maybe voices off somewhere... Where was she anyways? Hse couldn't remember exactly what had just happened. she tried sveral times ot cahse some wisp of a memory, but her headache was too intense. Attempt, again, at movement, she lifted her right arm, pistol still clutched.
Just then an electronic voice spoke to her in what sounded like "Whoop whuuuf wooop!".

The inside of the apartment was rather cozy, and definitely more organized and clean than Tiffany's. In the main living room, where the three quickly seated themselves, the bookshelves which lined the walls seemed to shine, as though they had just been made. the main couch and chairs were also free of dust, as was the smallist TV settled in the middle of the room. Minene looked around, and noticed that the books on the bookshelves were all in order of the author's last name, like at a library. There was a wide selection of books, ranging from murder mysteries, to speculation about life from other words, and from prehistory, to complex mathetatic books. There was even a book titled Creatures of Japanese Mythology, which perked Minene's interest.

"So, how was your trip to Papa New Guinea?" Tiffany asked the maid, which brought Minene's attention back to the person who had allowed them into her house.

The maid scratched her head. " It was rather nice, aside from the large rats. The locals were surprisingly nice to me and let me stay at an enpty hut. I've never had quite so many sweet potatoes before in my life..." Here, she stopped, and seemed to finally notice Minene. " Oh, and who might your friend be over here, TIffany?"

"That's Minene. She's been staying at my place for over a week now, and she's the reason I decided to visit you." Tiffany replied, adjusting the small pair of glasses situated on her nose.

" Oh is she?" The maid pondered jokingly, before turning her attetnion to Minene. "I'm Roberta Luna, an old friend of Tiffany. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier" she said as she reached out and shook Minene's hands, before turning back to Tiffany. "So, why did you bring her to me? Does she have a problem?"

"Well, no she doesn't. She actually is more than you think she is. She's a very special person."

At this, Roberta burst into laughter. "Wait, don't tell me. She's an alien!' She jokingly guessed. "Or maybe, she's half-ghost, half human! or she's a reality warping demon, or a vampire that can manipulate fate." Now, she was trying to suppress her laughter, but she couldn't. This prompted an eyebrow raise from Minene, who looked at Tiffany, but all she got was an eye roll from her...

The officers, unable to find the source of the explosion, simply began to help pick up the peices left in the wake of the destructive blast. Aya helped out those who were wounded, escorting them into nearby ambulences to be taken to the hospital. She watched from where she stood, overlooking the horrors that remained from the destructive action. What was happening with this city? Where did things go wrong? But her most horrifying thought came in last.

Was her beautiful home of Los Diamantes falling apart? And how soon would it die out?

Jackson's crew soon drove up in the back of the bank, where they were greeted by an angry security guard.

"Hey! What the hell do you-"

He was quickly silenced with a magnum shot to the chest. The rabble rousers soon exitted their vehicles, and began to storm the building. Jackson smiled. His dream was coming to fruition....

After a few moments, Roberta finally managed to catch her breath. "Alright, seriously. What's special about her?"

Tiffany was about to say something, but then, deciding against that, simply leaned over to Minene and wispered into her ear. Minene nodded, and focusing her mind, one of her invisible vectors reached over and patted on Roberta's shoulder.

The response was instant. The maid moved like a blur, grabbing the unseen apendage and restraining it. For a little bit, it seemed to shimer as Minene felt the slight pain, but to her surprise, Roberta didn't seem all that surprised. She simply gave a whistle of approval, and nodded. "What else does this girl have up her sleeve, Tiffany?" Roberta asked, letting go of the vector, which vanished into nothingness...

"Well, her invisible arms are really quite powerful. I tested their strength by having her try to lift some of the more usless machinery in my lab, and she was able to lift them really well. My analysis seems to point to her being able to lift up to 2,300 pounds with just one vector. Healing abilities are also quite spectacular, surpassing even that of starfish and Planaria."

"Is that so?" Roberta pondered, cracking her neck. "Mind if me and her have a little sparring session downstairs? I'd like to see this enhanced healing firsthand..."

Outside the apartment, a black Sudan pulled up along the sidewalk. From it emerged Greed, Pride, and Wrath, all dressed in black suits one might see at a business meeting, the latter's tail and wings folded up and wrapped up along his back, their black color making them hear to see against the black suit he was wearing...

Max emerged from his apartment once again, and began his daily transit around the city of Los Diamantes. He lived in some of the poorer areas of the city; it was all he could afford. And it was all he needed. The superhuman knew that his secret was a dangerous one, one that he had to hold close, even if it meant hiding it from thsoe he-

He stopped for a moment. When he thought about it, he didn't really HAVE any loved ones. Sure, he had friends, but they weren't really all that great; they reminded him more of children than adults. His family was all dead. He never met his mother, and his sister..... he prefered not to remember. It had been twenty years since that.... incident.... and he still felt the sorrow tugging on his heart. If only he was able to do more. If only he had gotten his powers sooner, and he would have been able to save her from that foul creature....

Suddenly, he spotted a trio of suspicious looking men. While he knew that it was risky, the superhuman followed the three of them. He could transform, and, even though he'd be weaker and he'd risk hurting himself due to the light's affects on that form, he was suspicious that these men were up to no good. Passing by numerous pedestrians, Max pursued the suited men, hoping his gut was correct....

The Stalwart Crew made its way through the back part of the bank, before barging into the main room, much to everyone's surprise (and horror). Before the security guards could do anything about the horde of violent thugs, they were gunned down in cold blood. As the patrons began to flee, Jackson himself shot a few of them in the back, downing them and causing some of them second guess their decision, though some managed to get out.

"Everybody down!" Jackson bellowed. "This is a holdup!"

As if on cue, the patrons fell on their faces, on the ground, in fear. A cruel smirk stretched across Jackson's face. All part of the plan....

The three men, unaware that they had been singled out, moved up toward the door. Pride reached into his pocket, and pulled out his golden-platted Desert Eagle, while Greed took his Magnum out of his own large pocket.

"Wait, are you certain this si the right building? Craven might have gotten the wrong address..." Wrath wispered into his pal's ear, but Pride simply brushed it off.

"If this isn't the right building, then what do we have to loose? That girl can only hide in so many places before we run into her again, and I have a hunch that this indeed is the right building. We'll be gettin gour revenge now, boys." Pride grinned...

TIffany seemed to think about this request for a few moments, before she nodded. "Okay, go ahead. Just don't be too rough on her."

Roberta was about to say thanks, when she heard knocking on the door. "Looks like I have another guest." the maid said, as she headed toward the door, and grabbed the door knob...

Max watched the men curiously as they made their move. Unsure, but still ever persistent, the superhuman decided to sit back and watch to see if they made any suspicious moves.....

As the gangsters ignored the patrons for now, Jackson demanded money from the people behind the counter.

"I'm not giving you a choice. Give me ALL the money," Jackson growled.

"O-okay, okay! j-just don't kill me!" The man said as he handed over the money.

"Thank you," Jackson snickered before he put a bullet between the man's eyes. He then turned to his crew members.

"Time for clean up!" Jackson snarled, causing the patrons' hearts to sink. "But don't kill all of them; remember, that rich ******* still wants some subjects! If I see no less than five people still alive, I'm going to kill the ******* who killed the extra!"

Not about to let themselves get killed, most of the patrons made a break for the door. Many were gunned down ruthlessly, but most of them managed to escape without major injury. While Jackson knew that lettign them live meant that he risked his dreams collapsing, charging out after them spelled certain doom. So he simply looked amognst his ensemble of underlings.

"Take five and kill the rest. We don't have time to waste, people!"

The cruel men went to work...

Shortly after the violence and carnage, multiple people immediately called 911, many amazed to get away with their lives....

Yellow Ascatian text moved across a projected screen of orange light in conjunction to the explorer's diligent note taking. When he was finished inputting yet another set of holographic notes into the wrist device, Galaak looked back to the life form on the other side of a force field barrier that was nigh invisible except for the bright blue lines of light running across the ceiling, walls and floor, marking its perimeter.

Upon entry into his ship, Galaak disabled the usual sanitation protocol in which his suit and anything in the airlock was disinfected, cautious of the chemicals that might negatively affect the bipedal canine. Instead, the Ascatian explorer ordered his craft to redirect the walkways from the airlock so that he could lead his finding to the nearest simulation chamber- refitted to serve the purpose of an observation chamber. That way he could prevent harm to the creature while still preserving the sterile environment throughout his craft, as the improvised path could be cleaned out later.

Once in the chamber, Galaak was quick to assess the matter before him the best way he knew how: through study. Its genetic structure was completely unknown to E-doch's Bio-scans yet Galaak noted the alien being did not seem to have any protective equipment in the form of a containment suit of some sort- unlike himself, who was still enclosed within the excursion suit. That implied that the being's bodily functions had adapted to the planet astoundingly or there was much more to it that the scientist had yet to uncover. Unsuccessful in bridging the language gap, he found progress with the issue incredibly slow.

The Ascatian stood statuesque, unmoving for a long time as he tried to comprehend what just happened. Even with all the experiences he had, with all the knowledge he had collected, he was completely dumbfounded by the occurrence. Naturally, this meant Galaak entered another set of notes, one after the other. They included mention of sudden linguistic capabilities, spontaneous change among other things. This being was truly unlike anything he had seen before, past or present...
