Galaak switched from the holographic list of notes to the readouts from his ship's scanners. He had a special interest in the bio-scans as he wanted to know which parts of the canine were working at any given moment, how its brain- or the creature's equivalent of one- functioned, what depths there were to its mind. Not surprisingly, there wasn't any information to be had. The entity did not fall into any field already designated in E-doch's databanks, even though the craft had accumulated millions upon millions of genetic signatures and biological correlations. The being that stood before Galaak, spouting what seemed to be gibberish was a completely unique individual.

The realization made Galaak freeze again as his mind grasped the implications of this. "...Intriguing" he muttered, adding that to his notes as well. "Subject appears to be attempting to grasp terrestrial communications. Translators on. Audio recorders active" Galaak said in his alien tongue and in response, the ship prepared to record the Ascatian's attempt at a verbal exchange...

"You're tearing me apart, Lisa!" the dog exclaimed, its blank expression betraying the seemingly false emotion in its voice.

"Subject seems unaware of what it is saying, or of its meaning. Communications still impossible at this stage" Galaak observed for the recording, beginning to pace inches away from the barrier between him and the canine. "Cross reference its speech to accumulated data in case there is more to this than first appears. Start with 'You're tearing me apart Lisa'" Galaak instructed E-doch, anxious for the possible results

The vicious gangsters quickly cleaned up their mess, mercilessly killing most of the people who remained inside, before they took those who remained as captives. Money bag in tow, Jackson turned to his underlings.

"Quickly now! We don't wanna get caught, do we?!"

As if on cue, the whole crew of men made their way back to their vehicles, ignoring the cries of those they had captured....

Aya was one of the first officers summoned by the 911 operator.

"Attention! There has been a robbery at the Central Los Diamantes Bank! All available officers, report there immediately!"

Aya immediately had a good guess who the culprit was: Jackson, and his gang, The Stalwart Crew. She soon speeded over to the bank, knowing fully well that she probably wouldn't catch them... but hopefully another closer by to the incident would take up the chase...

The moment Roberta opened up the door, there was a Desert Eagle pointed right at her face. She could only back up, allowing the three Sins members to walk right on in. Minene began to shake uncontrollably, catching Wrath's attention, whose tail uncurled and closed the door behind him.

"Well, if it isn't the little brat who escaped from us a while back." Wrath hissed, his two draconic wings spreading out to their full length, his two pals having their guns locked on Tiffany and Roberta, preventing them from moving. "Small world, ain't it *****?" He moved toward her, the girl too traumatized to form her vectors. "Last time we meet, you made us look like a pack of fools and got away, but this time, you and your friends are good as dead..." The tail of the mutant swished back and forth, before raising up as he prepared to slice her right in half...

Mortum watched as the trio of men entered, weapons raised. The superhuman, not about to stand around for a murder, rushed towards the group of beings. He was hoping no one was watching at the moment, but, seeing how silent it was besides the men barging in (though he was sure someone was nearby and might be a bit suspicious of the whole situation), he doubted much in the forms of muscle.

Last time he had taken this shape, he was arrested. Now that it was daytime, he wouldn't have access to much of his magic. But he was willing to take this risk. As Max approached the appartment, eyes now glowing a bright blue, shadows swallowed up his form and garbed him in his demonic armor, and before anyone realized it, he had assumed his true form: Mortum.

Suddenly, the door was smashed open, the lock broken open with the superbeing's massive strength. He then spoke, agitation in his voice.

"Let them go."

Wrath twisted around upon hearing Mortum's voice, the being's knifed tail whizzing above Minene's head by inches. He snickered once, then moved toward Mortum, muscles rippling beneath his clothing. "And who are you supposed to be, the Dark Knight?" Wrath chuckled, pounding his fist into his open hand. "If you want these folks so bad, then your gonna have to make me!" With that, he leapt upon Mortum, nailing the armored figure across the face, while his tail stabbed forward from behind, ready to stab him through the back...

Pride turned around for a brief second to look at the fight, but for him, it was a deadly mistake. Before he coudl put his attention back on his hostage, something sliced through his throat. He grabbed his neck as blood began to pour out, and he crumbled onto the floor, gasping for air. What... had happened? It was then that he saw it, the knife held up in Roberta's hand, and the red, almost demonic eyes starring down at him. "Your fate has been sealed." She said, before hurling the knife into his skull, killing him, blood spreading across the floor.

Greed, terrified by what had happened, turned from Minene and aimed his gun right at the Maid, but his hands were shaking with fear, and sweat was running down his brow. What on earth had she done? He hadn't even seen the motion, but in less than a second, she had brought Pride down. He wanted to press the trigger, but he couldn't.. That stare she was giving him now, it sent shivers down his spine. Just who on earth were these people?

The dark knight recovered from the punch stumblnig backwards, as he sensed the tail's presence approach from behind. The energy trace was faint, but he knew it was coming. Time seemed to slow down in Mortum's mind, as the superbeing sprung into action. His eyes glowed bright for a moment, before he suddenly struck with lightning efficiency. In one swift motion, Mortum drew his blade and slashed it across Wrath's chest, leavign a deep, bloody gash across his chest. Thanks to some quick thinking, the lunging tail had narrowly avoided impaling him (though it wouldn't kill him in this form, it would DEFINITELY immobilize him lnog enough to get killed)...

Wrath grasped at his bleeding chest and staggered back, his tail flailing around. He could feel his warm, sticky blood spilling out, and though he knew the wound wouldn't kill him, he had to take care of it, and fast... But if he could just-

A screaming sound caught his attention, and he whirled around jsut in time to see Greed be sent flying into one of the bookshelves, the shelve in turn crashing down onto the man. A sickening "CRUNCH" came with the impact, and he could see the blood of hsi former ally spreading all over. He looked at where he had been thrown from, and he now saw what had once been his target, the young woman, simply stare at him. Blood was splattered across her face, but the look she was giving him sent shivers down his spine. Then he saw the maid also stare at him, a bloody knife in her hand, and the body of Pride at her feet. And the other girl was also staring darkly and coldly at him. Wrath was now feeling his throat dry up, and his mind screaming at him to bolt it. This mission had been a complete failure, and now, all he wanted was to get out of here. 4 against one was one thing, but 4 mutants against 1 was something that made him sick to his stomach.

"Screw this! I'm out of here!" Wrath snapped, before turning tail and trying to flee, his knifed tail heading right for Mortum...

Mortum quickly wraps a burly hand around the being's tail, and yanks him back inside, the power behind the tug enough to make the hapless beign go airborne and slam face-first into the floor. Before Wrath could get up, Mortum's heavy, armor plated foot stomped down on his back. The being's ice-blue eyes narrowed, before he spoke in a chilling tone.

"You aren't going anywhere."

When Wrath's tail was pulled back, something rather unusual happened, something that one wouldn't expect from a mutant with such a boney tail, something that surprised even Wrath himself...

His tail was ripped in half from the tug.

The second half of the tail writhed in Mortum's hands while Wrath stumbled onto his feet as quickly as he could and barreled out the doorway before taking to the sky, those citizens that saw the humanoid figure flying off with only half a tail rushing for cover and calling 911 as quickly as possible...

Mortum grumbled as he watched the being take off into the sky, before he nonchalantly tossed the amputated tail aside without a second thought. The being then turned around, eyes locking with other people in the room. His icy gaze glanced over all of them before he spoke.

"Yes, we're fine." Was Roberta's response as she began to clean up the place, dragging the bodies of the two dead gang members off to one corner. "No one injured here, right Tiff?"

This prompted a second scowl from the scientist, but inside, she was rather frightened and confused by what had just happened. Judging from Minene's reaction when the men had came in, and from what the winged one had said, she figured that they had been Sins members seeking revenge, but how had they tracked her down to this building? Unless they had been watching from the shadows, it made no sense. And on a slightly lesser note, why was Roberta acting like nothing had just happened, even though they had been on the recieving end of a breakin. Then again, given Roberta's history and personality, she definitely wasn't one to crack to something like this, unlike Minene, who was now cautiously prodding the dead bodies, as if to see if they were truly dead. "Yeah. Um, thank you for helping us out, sir." She said to Mortum. Now it seemed like mutants were starting to pop up all over the place... First Minene, and now this guy... " Um, who are you?"

Mortum cleaned his blade off on a cloth he produced from a pouch on the side of his armor, the crimson substance stained all along the menacing, five foot lnog hunk of steel. Mortum then sheathed his blade, before he looked back up at the girls, specifically the one who spoke. His eyes narrowed, before he spoke.

"The name's Mortum. And who, may I ask, are you?"

" The name's Tiffany." The scientist responded, before pointing over to Minene, then Roberta. "She's Minene, and she's Jack the Ripper." This prompted a death glare from Roberta, which put the scientist in a better mood. Serves you for calling me TIff. She thought, before refocusing back on Mortum. " Um, thank you for helping us out. This mess is going to take a while to clean up... No doubt the police are on their way here right now..."

The Stalwart Crew gunned it as fast as they could to their hideout, the blaring sirens of officers making the normally hardened troublemakers panic. They knew they were running out of time to escape, as the first squad car rounded the corner after them....

Aya continued on her pursuit, keeping tabs on the suspects' location via walkie-talkie....

Mortum gave a nod to the women. He realized the trouble they could be in, but there was little he could do about that at the moment.

"It is for the best that the police come... if they think you have caused any trouble, tell them Mortum did this, and they'll know who to hunt down.

I wish you ladies luck. Farewell."

With that, Mortum left, and, as soon as he got out of their line of sight, he transformed back into Max....

When Mortum left, Roberta took another look around the room and sighed. "Guess the sparring match is going to have to wait for another day." She said, before she set to work cleaning up the place. Tiffany and Minene looked at her, then at each other, before nodding and getting to work as well, cleaning up the bloody floor and getting the book shelve back up... but what all 3 failed to notice, was that the scent of the blood had drifted into the basement of Roberta's apartment, where in a dark, almsot featureless room was a chest. The lid creaked open, and from within peered out a pair of blood red eyes, which darted to the left, then to the right. For the past day, it had laid hidden, unknown to the owner, too uncertain of it's surroundings to dare peek out, bu tnow, the smell of blood had peaked it's intrest, and it now surveyed the dark room it was in. It was a far, far diffrent environment from the forests it was used to, so fo rnow, it closed the lid, and waited.

When darkness would come, then it would come out... and the city would face a new threat...

Meanwhile, the Scorpion bot that been watching the whole thing from ontop of a nearby building locked onto Mortum, and recorded his transformation back into Max. This footage was relayed back to Craven's lab, where he snorted upon viewing it. " What a batch of usless thug members. They were supposed to be the ruthless 7 Sins, and yet they get beaten around this badly? Atleast this mutant looks intresting..." He said, before mentally adding on, Note to self, if you want something done right, do it yourself.... He turned around, and looked at one of the covered projects he was working on. If the situation had a mutant variable, then perhaps he could play his own little dirty secret on the chessfield...

Aya wasn't the only one pursuing the Stalwart Crew.

Kala, having spent much of his time simply intercepting the myriad of radio traffic across Los Diamantes, eventually managed to narrow down to police frequencies. He had spent the vast majority of the day cloaked, wandering the city to apply to his personal GPS. After all, if he was going to stay, he might as well get the lay of the land. As a result, finding the robbers was a simple enough feat. The Cephian felt he owed this city, after inadvertently bringing down a miniature invasion force upon it only a couple weeks prior. What better way to start than to find some petty crimes to clean up?

Standing on a balcony overlooking the street, Kala watched, and waited. Sure enough, Jackson's group of thugs rounded the corner up ahead, heading straight towards his location. Weapons ready and cloak activated, Kala leaped from his perch, timing his jump perfectly to land on the roof of Jackson's car, his magnetized, clawed feet giving him excellent purchase, though he couldn't disguise the mighty bang as he hit the car. Still, he was on the criminals' vehicle now, and he doubted they would be too much of a threat to him...

"Ah, ****! What the hell was that?!" One of Jackson's underlings whimpered.

"Doesn't matter!" Jackson growled. Speed up! We need to get back to the HQ!"

The vehicle sped up as quickly as it could with the massive machine on the roof (which, honestly, was not really fast), as 3 squad cars, one with Aya in it and two with a few other cops, came up around the corner after the rabblerouser's car....

Max kept walking, unaware that he was being watched....

Kala, seeing that his targets weren't slowing down, decided to motivate them. Extending one of his arm blades, he plunged the weapon into the roof of the car, barely missing one of Jackson's underlings in the process...
