The group of kids was stopped in the middle of the entrance hall by a tour guide. "Welcome Beach Side High, we are anxious to get the tour on the way but before we begin, the CEO would like to make the introduction to our state of the art facilities himself. Please welcome, Mr. Gerald Holden." The guide stepped to the side as Gerald walked into the center of the show hall. Jake widened his eyes, his father didn't usually make special appearances, for press, for business partners, for anything really. A bunch of kids for a crappy school would be the last thing he expected Gerald to actually show up for.

"Good morning everyone." Gerald said with a smile on his face. "It is my pleasure, not just to welcome you into my business, but into the future. What many people don't understand is that whilst Holden-Corp has had a very strong partnership with the US Government, developing genetic weaponry that will usher modern warfare into the next century, we also pride ourselves in our research to increase the quality of life, and to make the world a better place. As we speak we are developing a way to solve the energy crisis. A powerful machine that creates constant flows of usable energy. The building you are in, is entirely powered by this machine alone. What you will see today will be our underground facilities where you will experience an abundance of this generations brightest minds, and greatest technical feats, you will see what your generation itself can become with a little effort and inspiration." Gerald walked to a large electric sliding door, he pressed a few buttons which immediately opened it. A large lift was behind the door, an elevator of sorts. "Here is your ride, your shuttle which shall escort you into the realms of discovery. Remember your stay here, this marks an important day for you all. For today you shall see the lengths to which a group of dedicated people can reach, to succeed in achieving any goal." Gerald stepped aside giving the students room to enter the elevator, it was just large enough to carry the entire class, it was made for the press and visitors of the facility.

"Am I the only one getting a 'Jurassic Park' feeling here?" One of the kids commented, getting the reply "Aint no friggin dinosaur gonna be eating me. I'd punch that ******* right in its teeth!"
"Sure you would" Several students said in unison as they stepped into the elevator. Kevin, noticing Jake standing not too far away said "Your dad seems...nice. Not like any of the things I heard about him". That was yet another thing the kids at Beach Side would make fun of, Jake being the rich kid. Privileged and unable to do anything without money. The latter part was dismissed quite drastically that one day...

Jake didn't even turn to look at Kevin, as if he knew someone was going to say something, he was moving with the flow of people into the elevator. "Its all a show." Jake replied. He couldn't pour his heart out to some random kid, but what he did know was that Gerald was up to something. Jake didn't quite know what, but he knew he was up to something.

"I guess you of all people would know, huh?" Kevin responded as the elevator began to descend smoothly into the depths of the installation...

Jake looked at Kevin for the first time, a look of bewilderment on his face. No one asked questions, everyone just assumed. Kids like Randy jumped to conclusions without ever even knowing the truth. It was very evident to Jake that none of these kids even truly knew him, they knew Gerald's son, but they did not know Jake Holden. It struck Jake as odd that anyone should be any different, especially this kid talking to him now, just an average kid blending in with everyone else. "Gerald always has some hidden intention. Everything he does is to suit his own needs." Jake remarked, a hint of anger in his voice.

"So you don't think he's developing this new energy thing to better the world? Why else would he then?" Kevin replied, noting the fact that Jake referred to his father by name and not by 'dad'. He glanced over to the side, catching sight of one of the students staring at him with a confused expression. Once they realized Kevin had spotted them, they quickly looked away, trying to act as if they were just looking about the elevator. "Oh great. Looks like you just became rumor bait, Anderson. Aw, **** 'em" He thought

Tiffany reentered into the kitchen. The first thing she saw was the injured girl at the fridge, a cheesestick in her mouth. "I thought I told you to stay lying down!" Tffany groaned as she move over to the girl, but as she grabbed her by the shoulder, she saw that the wounds on her arms and forehead were beginning to close up. Her eyes widened wth shock as a particularly large gash that ran down the side of her head slowly closed itself before her eyes. In a matter of seconds, the wounds were gone completely, and she was no longer bleeding. Tiffany staggered back, but not in fright as so much as shock. Suddenly, calling the hospital and her getting some sleep weren't s big on her priority list anymore...

"If you think clean, efficient energy wouldn't benefit the army as much as it would society, then your an ignorant human being" Jake said, briefly being distracted by the people gossiping about him. "I know for a fact it wasn't the energy crisis that put him up to this. The truth is Gerald wouldn't touch the subject if he wasn't hired by somebody. Only group I know that can afford him is the US government."

Kevin sighed. "Thought as much. Still though, even in this day and age, I would like to think people try these kinds of things for the good of the future generations, not to get an edge in future wars" He said before starting the laugh at himself. "And here I was, wondering why I sat alone on the bus on the way here..." He said sarcastically

"Its like in boxing..." Jake remarked, staring down one of the kids in the elevator. "After you fight you go right back into training, you always look forward to the next fight." The elevator came to a stop the doors opened, and the children marched out. They were in a hallway with glass windows on either side. Behind the glass was scientists working on various things. A mech suit stood up on one side of the room. Scientists studied a pool of sharks on another side. Large computers filled the room, data pouring into them by the second. It was an unorganized cluster of various experiments and tests going on at the same time.

"That so? Well then, there's a lot of training going on down here" Kevin commented as he looked back and forth across the room, watching the scientists go about their work with careful deliberation. They moved and acted as if they hadn't even acknowledged the large group of kids and their teachers. It was as if they were gods tinkering the the make up of the universe, and the group were but ants watching them do it.

"Yeah well I guess America is one hell of a boxer." Jake said, he was slowly drifting to the back of the pack, almost selectively like he was aiming to go somewhere. He didn't bother looking out the windows, he'd seen it all before.

Kevin was too enthralled by all the research going around him that he didn't notice Jake lagging. He was so swept up by glimpses of the future, that it was only until several moments later when the boy's words echoed in his head. "The truth is Gerald wouldn't touch the subject if he wasn't hired by somebody" All at once, the experimentation and the projects being made just beyond the glass walls took on a more sinister connotation. Sharks? Mechanized suits? Just where the hell were these advancements being implemented in the military, much less other branches of the government and society? It was then Kevin also drifted to the rear of the group, meeting the eyes of the other kids, who looked at him with distrusting expressions etched on their faces.

Jake reached a door on the side of the room, by this point he was far behind the group, the teachers hadn't even noticed. It was a fire escape sort of thing, there purely for emergencies, but it was a new addition, no alarm had been attached to it. He opened it up, the door leading to a set of stairs. He looked over to Kevin, "You want to come along?" he asked.

The boy looked back to Jake, stopping in his tracks."Holy ****. You do this often? Run around your dad's...laboratories?" Kevin asked in a hushed tone, glancing back to the group. "Er...only for a short while. We need to get back before anyone notices...and judging by the looks I kept getting, that won't be a long time" He said, quickly making his way over to the door. A combination of curiosity and discomfort wanted him to get away from the screened hallway...

Jake nodded as he closed the door behind them. He guided Kevin up a couple of flights of stairs, and onto a scaffolding of sorts, it went across the showroom and over to another door, high above the experiments, Jake spat over the side, hoping to hit someone. The saliva just missed one of the scientists, landing on the floor by them. He looked back to make sure Kevin was still there before continuing to walk towards the door.

"So much for a sterile testing area. You could have thrown their research back five years...ten maybe. I'm not sure whether or not I should be crossed about that" Kevin commented, drawing back from the edge of the catwalk when it seemed the scientist was about to look up at him. With his breath caught in his throat, he made haste after Jake, trying to keep his footsteps as quiet as possible

Jake was making no attempts at being subtle. He strolled across the catwalk, easily making it to the door. "I'm sure they don't mind it much." he replied to Kevin's comment. He opened the door which reveled a large chamber, many wires and pipes fed into the center of a large glowing column which emerged from the floor. There was a loud hum emitting from the machine in the center. "Here it is. Its the infinite energy Gerald told you all about." Jake took a moment to look at it, before walking further, he trailed the catwalk which circled around the machine and into a little command room. "Back in WW2 hydro electricity was utilized to help build the large amounts of planes, tanks, and weapons needed to fight the Nazis." Jake leaned on a desk looking at a few test tubes, all labeled as dangerous genetic material, "imagine what they could build with something like this." he continued.

The wounded woman was soon taken to the hospital in an Ambulence. The police dispersed after this, and went their seperate ways. Aya was soon off to her normal patrol route, until she felt her stomach rumble. She hadn't eaten all morning!

"Might as well get something to eat..." Aya said as she drove away from the crime scene...

"Imagine what they can put this into. I may have been watching too many old movies lately, but if some...giant robot thing had this as its power source..." Kevin replied. The notion of a giant robot with unlimited power was silly to him, of course. Such a thing would be too impractical and complex to build. The more simpler option was create a more efficient form of existing weaponry or something along those lines. "Something tells me the future's gonna be a scary place"
