After the moon had risen considerably into the sky, Aircrest turned around to head into the jungle, not sure what he should do now. Should he find a place to spend the night and try to sleep? Or would he only wake up again after some cryptic fever dream? If that was the case, how else would he spend the night? He started snickering at himself. There used to be a time when he spent the entire night staring down at the ground to make sure his mate wasnt attacked in her sleep. "Oh how times have changed..." He growled quietly to himself. He brushed past the undergrowth, noticing that he was unconciously wandering. "Never fails" He thought with a sigh.

Rampage eyed the herbivores from the trees. after splitting the herd and ensuring they wouldn't meet up, she volunteered to hunt something for the family. meanwhile, Crusher had decided to investigate what was outside the territorial borders again, to her irritation. Hunter had gone on patrol and would be back at the nest soon. She didn't like how Crusher was leaving the territory frequently to check for signs of his brother watching, or attacking, but she understood why he did it. though he never spoke of it, she knew he held himself responsible for the deaths of all his friends at the fangs and claws of his treasonous brother, and it was a heavy weight to hold on one's chest. even though the territories around his own were mostly empty at present, he still felt the need to check them nearly daily...

"My....What......How" he muttered, suddenly realising he couldn't remember how he ended up in the water in the first place. perhaps he had lost his footing running through the trees....no. couldn't be. those tended to leave painful grazes on his legs and sometimes even a sprained ankle, yet he felt neither, and, looking, could see neither. perhaps he had been pushed in? impossible...he didn't know of any enemies he may have had at the moment. his father's pack had been dealt with days ago...pulled in? no...that wasn't a possibility either. he felt bruises, and shallow cuts...but neither were consistent with something pulling him in. the cuts would be significantly deeper, and chances are he wouldn't be alive if that were the case....so...what happened? how did he get here?

Gothmog takes another bite out of his prey. The giga remembers the events that had occured before the nightfall...

Gothmog had decided to leave where he had been standing. The rumbling of the herd grew louder as it neared. Soon, he saw a thundering herd of parasaurolophus..... and a T-rex. The rex was hard to see from the distance Gothmog was at, but his scent was definitely familiar. Gothmog remembered seeing the rex chase after the herd as it passed by, disappearing from sight...

The giga snarls. Perhaps Gothmog should follow him. Pondering, he finally makes his move and follows the rex into the woods.....

Aircrest was backtracking his way through the jungle, walking back towards where he last saw his mate. He hadnt seen her since the previous night, he wanted to say atleast one thing to her for the day, even if it was "Good night" He ignored the irony of it and moved in silence through the darkness. He was feeling a chill and tingle running across his body. The thought that there was a resurgence of his illness coming with the night occurred to him, but he hoped it wasnt so. After all, he liked being able to smell and not sneezing every other moment or so.

Maloriak looked about his surroundings as he lay down on his side, his ears also listening for sounds that might indicate something approaching. The only sound that reached his ears was the buzzing of insects and after a few seconds, relaxed, feeling more at ease. Having left the lake not long after he had picked up the scent and heard the sounds of the dromeasaur, he had regurly scented the air as he had moved further away and had continued doing so even after he could no longer pick up the scent, just in case the other creature had decided to follow. Maloriak thought to himself while giving a small snicker of ammusement:" I wouldn't be suprised if that dromeasaur has possibly woken up large predators before just moving around through the jungle like that."

As Hazel passed beside some particularly thick vegetation, a large gray head lunged out from within, narrowly missing the raptor's hindquarters with its massive jaws. Drawn to the creature by the scent of blood, the carchar was more interested in the kill the raptor made...but why pass up an opportunity for more?

Hazel let out a muffled yelp as she bounded to the side from reflex at the sound and sight of vegation parting. She would have gasped if she wasnt carrying the meat in her jaws. Automatically she bolted away. She wasnt too far away from Rose and the others... if she tried to lose the Carchar, he might go after them! The only option she had was to warn them. That was the only thought that ran through her head at the time. Running was automatic, she didnt even consider dropping the mouthful she had.

Emerging fully from the vegetation, the behemoth let out an earth-shaking roar, trying to paralyze the raptor with fear. Thundering after it, the carchar effortlessly smashed its way through the vegetation....

The roar only fueled Hazel's drive to get away, the female having already put considerable distance between her and the large predator. The head start could make all the difference in the end. It meant there would be time for her to get the warning across and get Rose out of danger. If she was thinking about it, she'd have found her instinct to protect the blind raptor strange, but there was no time for unimportant matters...

Aircrest raised his snout and cocked his head, the last of the beast's roar reaching his ears. He snorted. "Giants...the loud f*cks. Night means nothing to them." He growled irritably before continuing on his way

The carchar continued its pursuit, content with chasing the smaller creature...for now.

Hazel swerved around trees and jumped over bushes and rocks in her way, feeling the Carchar's foot falls behind her everytime her feet touched the ground. She heard the crashing waves, and noticed the thinning of tree and plant growth. Sure enough, she felt her feet hit sand and the brown raptor sped down the beach, kicking up sand with each step.

The decrease in foliage only hastened the large predator's pace, each step creating immense footprints in the sand...

As Crusher had done countless times before, he continued the pursuit until nightfall, having covered a massive amount of territory in that time. once he was satisfied enough distance had been put between the two halves of the herd to dissuade them from returning, he began to turn round, moving in a slow arc rather than just going back the way he came. he wanted to see what surrounded his territory...though his senses told him he wasn't alone anymore...

Gothmog moved at a nice, even pace, sniffing the air with every thunderous step. He was hot on that rex's trail, and would soon find him, despite his poor eyesight.....

as the direction Crusher was moving in changed, he found himself downwind of whatever was behind him, allowing him to check the scent properly. Giga thought Crusher, eyes narrowing. for some reason this particular Giga smelled familiar, but he couldn't be sure. checking his path ahead he looked for a satisfactory spot, finding it as the ferns along the ground became more closely spaced up ahead. using the chance, Crusher took a slightly longer stride, taking a sharp turn away from the direction his path was taking him, slipping in between two large trees, his trail seeming to stop dead...

Hazel forced herself to go faster, a short burst of speed putting just a few more feet ahead of her and the Crachar, clouds of sand lingering in the air for a short while behind her. She turned towards the jungle again, getting ready to get Rose and scatter the lilies, though by now the creature's footfalls should be a warning to all in the vicinity of them

Thorn lifted his head with a low, uneasy growl. A big predator was approaching fast. His orange eyes locked on haze, wondering if she was fit enough to run, before turning to Switchblade and Rapture. He rose into a half-crouch, poised to bolt if he had to, but reluctant to lose another tie to his former pack. Rose turned her head towards the direction the heavy footfalls were coming from, her sightless eyes narrowing.

"'How' is the question we were hoping you could answer," Ruby growled, cocking her head and fixing her crimson gaze, so like her mother's piercing red stare, on the male. "One of them anyway," Blackstripe muttered to Whitestreak, who glanced at her and nudged one of the compies Fire and Ice had brought back towards the half-drowned male. "Here. You must be starving," he growled.

Gothmog continued moving at his brisk pace, not stopping for anything but to occasionally get a better sniff of who he was following. He was growing close... he could almost taste the scent by now....

Switchblade's head swiveled around as her gaze swept out across what she could see of the beach, then snapped nervously to the others. Her eyes stopped momentarily on Haze, who for the first time, looked genuinely fearful. The pallid Lili slowly lifted herself partway off the ground into a low crouch and grimaced noticeably. Seemingly gathering her strength, she tried to lift herself higher, only to resume her crouch with a soft hiss of pain as her right leg started to shake badly. Having kept relatively still the past day, the swelling on her ankle had subsided a bit, making it easier to conceal. But now, the gray Lili knew she was in trouble. The others probably expected her to be able to run, or at least walk now that some of her strength had returned. But she was quite sure she could do neither with what was most likely a broken ankle. The gray Lili inwardly cursed the injury. This had been what started her steady decline into emaciation in the first place. Twice now it had been re-broken, rendering the lone Lili unable to hunt anything that didn't walk right into her jaws. Briefly her eyes met Switchblade's before she turned to look at Thorn, hissing, "If it comes this way, just go without me. I'll only slow you down." "But we can't-" "I'll hide... I'm good at that..."

The carchar smashed its way through the foliage yet again, sending broken branches and leaves in the raptor's direction...

Rapture, meanwhile, had already slipped away from the group, disappearing into the jungle hastily...
