When she heard the snort, Hazel turned her gaze upwards to the top of the relatively short rock wall. She spotted Zheja looking down at her and raised an eyebrow at what he said. She ran her tongue across her lips, wiping the last drops of water clinging to her maw away before barking to the raptor "What you do with your time is your choice. Me ranting at you wont change that"

A symphony of hoots, honks and bellows were heard as the herd of Parasaurolophus stampeded towards the edge of the territory, the rhythmic thumping of Crusher's massive strides close behind them, constantly reminding them that death awaited the stragglers. they crossed the territorial border, Crusher following them out, while Rampage steered the rest of the herd into deeper territory. she let off a long rumbling roar; a signal. on the opposite border, Hunter broke off the patrol and moved in, to cut off the herd before they reached too close to the nest. Lightning along wouldn't be enough to scare them off. they knew the one behind them was older and more experienced, and potentially more lethal. so unless there was at least one other Rex beside her, she'd be seen as the lesser of two evils and potentially trampled by the panicked herbivores...

The Patriarch continued to pursue the herbivores deep into one of the island's primary Game Trails. it would allow them to meet up with other herds of their kind and hopefully prevent them from returning. however, being outside his own territory always presented a risk of his plan being interrupted...

Zheja paused, not expecting such a passive answer. With one last lingering, suspicious glance at the raptor, he laid his head back down, continuing his rest...

Hazel dipped her snout into the creek once more, taking one last mouthful of water before stepping back. "Are you always this highstrung? I thought the lazy were supposed to be relaxed" She growled jokingly, looking up the rock face.

The scent of the dromeosaur continued to get stronger and the sounds of movement in the undergrowth on the other side of the lake began to get louder. The raptor's thoughts of the owner of the sounds perhaps being arrogant or not caring on making much noise were reinforced because even now, the approaching dromeosaur had made no effort to reduce the amount of noise it was creating. Maloriak backed up a bit, now under the branches of the two closest trees as he looked out over the lake in the direction of the scent and sounds, eyes watching the gaps in the trees on ther other side to catch a glimpse of the approaching creature...

Gothmog feasts upon the dead youngling's meat. A roar echoes across the battered landscape of the wasteland, as the Giganotosaur looks in its direction. Deciding to ignore it, Gothmog goes back to eating...

"The lazy feel uneasy when the active are around." Zheja retorted without lifting his head, eyes still closed...

Suddenly a smirk crept onto Hazel's face. She silently departed from the creek, careful not to disturb the foliage when she stepped into the tree line once more. To Zheja, it would be as if she's still there, but if he opened his eyes he would see she had disappeared into the surrounding area. He wouldnt have a reason to, however, and if Hazel guessed right about the raptor's habits, he wouldnt bother.

Not too long after, the brown raptor reappeared, approaching Zheja with a quiet and careful stride, methodically planning where to put her feet down and how they should touch down. When she stepped onto the rocky ground, she made sure her claws didnt make the faintest of noise that might alert the white and black raptor. She made her way to the edge of the rock bluff and knealt down, silently standing right next to Zheha. She let out a sharp bark into his ear...

Zheja lifted his head lazily, eyes half closed. The depth of his sleep lessened the startling effect of the bark, instead leaving him confused and with ear pain. "Uh...ow?" he growled, looking toward Hazel questioningly.

"The active are only around the lazy when they're bored. The lazy are a good source of amusement...most of the time. I see giving me something to laugh about was too much work for you" Hazel growled, finishing her statement with mock disappointment. She let her head hang and let out an overdramatic sigh and playfully nudged Zheja's shoulder with her snout. "I wont pester you anymore, though for your saftey I'd advise you to find somewhere else to doze off, it was way too easy to sneak up you"

Old one eye surveys her surroundings with her one good eye. She takes a big sniff of the air before continuing on. Nothing worth hunting around here... but there had to be something somewhere....

"....Right. I'm going back to sleep now." Zheja growled, scaly brow still raised as he watched Hazel for a few seconds before laying his head back onto the rock...

"Just like Aircrest. At least he cant say I didnt warn him" Hazel thought with a quiet sigh, her eyes closed. With a shrug she turned away from the lazy white and black raptor and started to walk off, heading further inland.

"So what do I do now..." Aircrest asked himself as he lifted his head off the rock. He didnt like just laying around, it felt like he was waiting for something, but time was just dragging on. He needed to do something to occupy himself, to pass the time. It was maddening. The time he spent laying behind a bush and the time he spent laying on a rock felt wasted, like he should have been off doing something else. But he knew all too well he wasnt going to get better doing the things he normally did. He would try sleeping again if it werent for the dreams that he could get. Ever since the previous night the strange dreams robbed his slumber of any rest, so he didnt see the point of it. His only other option was to wander. It was better than doing nothing...and if he took a little care it shouldnt be too taxing. Besides, if he did start to feel ill again he could easilly go find a place to relax and get his energy back. He lingered on the thought for a few more moments before rolling onto his feet. He started to walk down the shoreline- or rather, started hopping- moving from rock to rock along it.

Fire and Ice had returned some time ago, each carrying a fairly large compy. Blackstripe was gnawing on a small fish she'd managed to catch, the bones cracking between her teeth. Ruby and Whitestreak had been taking it in turns to watch for predators who might be tempted to try for an easy meal.

Meanwhile, another pack of raptors were still enjoying the spoils of their successful hunt. Silver and her hatchlings had eaten well, and the off-white female had volunteered for sentry duty. Siri and Viridis were deep in discussion at the back of the cave; Inculta and Astus had taken on the task of entertaining Thistle, Carus, and Steelclaw. And Mwuaji was off by himself, shooting faintly envious looks at Silver. It seemed she and her hatchlings had already been accepted into the pack; but him...because he was a mutant, he would always be looked at as different.

And trouble was brewing on the borders of the pack's territory. The leader of the oviraptors Inculta had attacked was seething with rage and grief. Most of her pack was gone...gone! Her children, her mate of ten years, dead. Two youngsters were all that had survived, and four adults including herself. "Inculta," she snarled under her breath. She was sure he had something to do with the attack. He'd never gotten over the oviraptors raiding his nest years ago. Well, this time we'll make sure you suffer for much, much longer, raptor scum, she thought, her eyes narrowing. Starting with breaking your daughter's pretty neck, she added, leaning down to nuzzle one of the youngsters.

Several hours later, the sun having set not long ago, the sky dark, a steadily growing rumble could be felt under Gothmog's feet, indicating that a large number of...something...was headed his way...at speed...

Fatalis woke to darkness, looking through cracked eyelids, trying to figure out who it was that was around him....and where he was....and what happened...without giving away that he was awake...

Gothmog quickly turns towards the source of the footsteps, taking another bite out of his prey. The giga stood his ground, and, despite his poor eyesight, could definitely smell where the creatures were....

Old One Eye continues along, sniffing the air ocassionally. That smell..... it smelled like hadrosaur. Turning her head right, she began to move at a brisk pace in that direction....

Kronos and Lehra fall asleep....

"We can't spend the night here," Whitestripe growled, his blue eyes fixed on his sister's crimson. "It's too open and too close to the river." Ruby looked from the unconscious male to her brother. "We also can't risk trying to move him until he wakes," she replied. "I don't like the idea of sleeping in this spot any more than you, Whitestreak, but we can't leave him to the crocs either." Whitestreak let out a low growl, but padded to Blackstripe's side without arguing.

The green raptor had his eyes locked on the ocean from a cove, the edge of the jungle behind him. He was still around the rocky shoreline, though there was sand amongst the craggy boulders the raptor now stood on. The giant rock faces several yards from him were covered with trees and bushes on top, with moss and vines growing off the sides. He had been waiting for a few minutes now, having decided that he would be there for a sight he hadnt seen in months. It wouldnt be much longer. As the minutes passed, the moment Aircrest had been waiting for grew closer. Finally, over the horizon he saw the silver face of the moon, its light reflecting off of the rippling waves in the distance. "Its been too long" He thought with a sigh. "Far too long" He remembered watching the moon rise over the ocean many times in the past. Some of those times were just by chance. Other times he waited at the island's end, waiting for the moon to rise into the night sky. It was something he missed when he was lost in the land of grey.

Hazel was heading back to where she had left Rose after a while of wandering the jungle. She had gotten hungry and went on a hunt, taking down a Leaellynasaura by the end of it. After she ate her fill, she took a few extra bites, tearing off chunks of meat that she decided to carry back with her, incase the young raptor was hungry.

satisfied that he was safe, Fatalis ceased the charade. making a low hissing groan, he lifted his head, shaking his head before looking at the raptors, and his surroundings. "Wh...what happened?...Where am I?" he growled...

"What happened? That's a good question," Blackstripe growled, not looking at the male, but training her thoughtful gazeon the current, crunching a small bone loudly between her teeth. "From the looks of you, you've been swept down the river quite some distance from wherever you were. As for where you are. Well, you're not too far from where I found you. Honestly, I'm surprised a Deinosuchus didn't get to you before we did." Another bone cracked. "You're lucky."
