Ahzek chuckled again. "A long...long time ago, my child. Our organization is as old as the dark forest itself...but not for a long time has it been so strong..." he explained, taking on an almost calm tone when addressing the she-cat.

[Hopeflower]

"Why is that?" Demontalon asked, interest captured.

[TyrannoTitan]

"The suffering that was experienced here...it shattered the faith of those who endured it. They looked to Starclan not with hopes and dreams...but hatred and a feeling of betrayal." the cat explained, as if delighting in the story.

[Hopeflower]

"But that doesn't explain why they'd turn to the Dark Forest," Demontalon meowed, frowning confusedly. "The worst of the Clan cats are here...Tigerclaw and Brokenstar and everyone like them." She trained her mismatched gaze on Ahzek, puzzled but genuinely interested. "What happened, exactly?"

[TyrannoTitan]

"When one's faith is ruined, selfish intent usually follows in its wake. They care not for their clan, for their ancestors, or even those they hate. They only care for themselves. Where Starclan has failed, they try to find reason and security with its opposite: The dark forest..." Ahzek explained. "Many fled to the mountains, thinking the forest completely destroyed. We happened to be...passing through...and only needed to bring to the surface what those cats truly felt. They told us of the forest, what had happened...we had thought the population destroyed with it." he continued, chuckling darkly once again, as if again enjoying the tale of woe. "That is...until we discovered an intruder in our midst. Much to our surprise, the forest was quite alive..."

[Hopeflower]

"You came from beyond the mountains, then?" Demontalon mewed curiously.

[TyrannoTitan]

"Indeed." the cat replied simply, slightly taken aback by the simplicity of the question...

[The Kingpin]

"The area around the twolegs' place is crawling with cats. moreso than the forest. why not go there instead? they'd be easier prey than the forest cats" growled Wraith as he eyed the creature...

Demontalon made a thoughtful noise in her throat. There was something to ask that cat who was from over the mountains - what was his name again? Insolitus? She intended to talk to him about whether he'd ever run into the cats like Ahzek before. "Did you have beliefs of your own, before you helped turn the Clan cats to believe in the Dark Forest?" she mewed. "Or have you always looked to the cats who reside here for guidance?"

[TyrannoTitan]

"Not every cat here need be slain..." Ahzek growled with a shrug. "The Dark Forest is all I know. Perhaps it has been too long for me to remember a time before...perhaps I choose not to." he responded to the black she-cat.

[Hopeflower]

More riddles, Demontalon thought, licking her lips again. The blood was beginning to dry on her fur, which wasn't a comfortable feeling. "Can the cats who have Firestreak speak to their dead comrades, and the former Clan cats that reside here too?" she mewed.

[TyrannoTitan]

"Of course. I am their conduit in which they use to converse with the Dark Forest." Ahzek growled with a grin. "We gain the knowledge of the damned, and the damned are freed from their solitude." he continued simply.

[The Kingpin]

"So what is the point of this place existing at all, if the solitude is no longer absolute?" growled Wraith lowly...

[TyrannoTitan]

"A fine question!" the cat growled with a laugh. "Only through our intervention can they be free from their solitude...but they are still bound here....for the most part." Ahzek growled cryptically...

[C S]

"You let them walk amongst the living. For a time" Snowstar mewed. "Its not unheard of" he continued to say, staring Ahzek down...

[TyrannoTitan]

"As themselves? Not quite. But there are ways around this." Ahzek explained. "I find it quite amusing...you stay here, allowing me to just spill out all the information regarding our goals...but never once have you questioned why."

[Hopeflower]

"Excellent point," Demontalon meowed, narrowing her eyes. "Why are you telling us all of this? And how do we know you're being honest?"

[C S]

"We assumed it was because you were insane and thus, learning your reasoning of why you choose to slaughter cats would be a waste of our time" Snowstar mewed, waving a paw. "But please, humor us if you'd be so kind"

[TyrannoTitan]

"That, I'm afraid, is where I draw the line..." Ahzek growled with a smirk. "Now, its my turn to ask the questions....What has Starclan ever done for you?"

[Hopeflower]

"They've done plenty! Each member of StarClan served their Clans loyally until they took their dying breaths," Demontalon meowed. "They proved themselves true warriors a thousand times over. And even now they watch over and guide their living kin."
