Night pricked her ears, staring in the direction the howl had come from. She let out a return howl, long and proud. Now...I wait, she thought, still gazing at where she'd heard the call come from.

shred claw and brown streak watched as their cubs began to scamper about, curious about their surroundings. one of hte youngsters was stalking a beetle, crawling slowly towards it before pouncing on the msall insect. the alpha male of the pride knew that one day, his children would grow up to become skilled hunters. much of the pride was either sleeping or drinking from the nearby pond that crocodiles rarley entered.

Tornado heard the return howl and trekked on cheerfully, his sipirts raised a little. "So someone is up here... he thought to himself. He didn't come to this area much and didn't think any wolves lived here, but he pressed on nether the less.

Blood Scar firecly came out of the water, grabbing the wilderbeast by the neck with its powerful jaws, crushing it, then pulling it under the water where Blood Scar preformed his death, tearing flesh and ripping apart his prey sending the local animals into a panic. Blood Scar then continued to feast for a while, eating as other crocodiles came in, waiting for Blood Scar to leave, hoping to scavenge upon the dead wilderbeast.

Tyretros nodded, stalking after the lion, also entering the tall grass. He crept forward, eyeing the gazzels, perfectly camoflaged in the grass. Tyretros glanced at Nightbane, waiting for the signal to attack...

the Lion moved to the left, eyeing the other one to move to the right, as he spotted a Gazelle grazing right on the edge of the field of grass. it had it's back towards them. Perfect.... thought Nightbane as he lunged forward, his clawed paw slamming onto the Gazelle's rump as it started to attempt to run. another Clawed paw swing into it's hind legs, tripping it. he put his clawed paw on it's side, holding it down, as he moved up to it's neck and bit down, biting as had as he could, ignoring the suffocation tactic and instead going for an all out neck breaking bite. in a few moments of pressure, a snap was heard, and the Gazelle fell limp. he looked up at the Lion and growled "Help yourself. I've had my fill for now. my last meal was more or less satisfactory. if you leave anything, i'll have it. for now, i'll stand watch"...

Tyretros walked over reluctantly, fianlly digging into the gazelle. He continued to eat for a few moments, backing away eventually. Thanks. he growled, bowing his head briefly to Nightbane. Tyretros turned, keeping watch incase Nightbane wanted to eat from the kill...

Isoke couldn't believe how the other zebras could just continuing grazing and conversing to each other without any thought of the zebra who was caught by the cheetah. "That...that dirty carnivore," she squealed angrily and stomped her right forehoof on the ground to express her anger. She went into a canter, looking for her mother. Her ears were upright and alert and her cocoa eyes were staring at each zebra. When she finally found her mother among a small group of pregnant mares, Isoke slowed to a halt and stared at her, her eyes full of hurt and anger. "Why does the rest of the herd go on as if nothing has ever happened," she challenged to her mother right away. "It's not right...he was a, a sort of friend of mine!"

Isoke's mother gazed at her daughter with sad, understanding eyes. "Isoke, Isoke...every time a predator attacks, there is always a chance of losing one of the herd. It's just the way of life. Some live and some die. It's all for the matter of survival."

Isoke snorted and rolled her eyes. "Survival, huh. Why didn't the lead stallion just fight the cheetah off? I'm sure he's strong enough to do that."

"He has to keep his eyes on the other herd members," the pregnant zebra mare explained and nudged Isoke gently. "Run off to join the yearlings and two year olds, now." She nuzzled her daughter gently. "Or, better yet, a little away to think."

Isoke closed her eyes and lowered her head. "Bu...ok, fine mother. I will do that." She walked away from her mother, her head was low and her ears were back. She didn't want to be bothered by the other zebras of the herd.

Blood Scar, lifted his head above the water, swallowing a large chunk of flesh. Blood Scar roared and then walked on to shore, heading for the open plains... leaving what remained of the body to the hungry young crocodiles. The massive crocodile, walked across the land slowly, staying in the water was not always the best idea as Blood Scar usually went to the land to enter some other lake or river knowing full well there would hardly be any crocodiles that can challenge and take the waters from him.

Nightbane moved over to the Gazelle and quickly ripped into the remains, eating all that he needed. after he was done, he looked at the other Lion, and nodded. "Let's go before those annoying buzzards start diving in on us" he growled, before walking towards the grass, heading for the river. keeping near it, they'd have good access to water and would only have to worry about food and more powerful predators...

Graytalon flew through the trees for what seemed like miles, dodging huge trunks and the occational jagged boulder. He finally swooped up and over the treetops, trying to figure out where he was. The forest was thinning out slightly and the area seemed rockier than his home territory. The hawk climbed higher, catching the warm updraft of a thermal and soaring hundreds of feet up. As his keen eyes swept over the horizon, he could just make out the tall, rocky forms of cliffs to the north. He changed course slightly, heading for the cliffs in hopes they were not already occupied by a bigger bird...

azure eye was resting in the center of his terriotry, not thinking about anything in paticular. he was planning on hunting for a moose once it was night. his mother had taught him how to be a skilled hunter and this proved to be useful for hunting during the day and the night. all of his siblings had been orange, but he learned that his father had been white. azure eye wasn't often challenged by wolves, but he wasn't going to let down his guard in case a pack might be planning to attack him.

Blood Scar found his way into another river, he had been here before, it maybe have been only a couple of day since has last been in it. Because of his dominance in the waters Blood Scar continued to travel along the waters, to him, only a mate would keep him from moving but now he would patrol the area. Blood Scar swam around for a little, eyeing a fish. Blood Scar caught the small fish in its jaws and raised its head above the water, swallowing it. The massive crocodile then went under...

Blood Scar continued swimming around the river when he saw an old crocodile just lying there on the shore. Blood Scar growled, bubbles forming above the water yet no response. Blood Scar growled again as the other then took attention and started to walk slowly off the shore. Blood Scar gave it two warnings, the third was retaliation, moving quickly, Blood Scar sank his jaws on its tail, just as the older crocodile was heading for the fields of grass. Pulling with immense strength, Blood Scar pulled it into the water and then delivered multiple powerful bites before one final bite to the neck and preformed the death roll. Blood Scar ate little, he had already ate earlier... Blood Scar would rest here for the night and move in the morning leaving the dead corpse to rot in the water.

Tyretros trotted after Nightbane, his trust for the lion growing. He glanced around at the river, moving toward the bank, lapping up the cool waters, the blood on his muzzel washing off in the process. Tyretros lifted his head, glancing around, finally laying down a few feet from the bank, making sure he was out of immediate strike range from the creatures that lived under the water...

The Lion looked right and left as his new "pack mate" lay down to rest. he decided to have a drink, quenching the thirst that had come from eating the blood drenched Gazelle flesh, cleaning his muzzle in the process, before finding himself a large, flat rock nearby to lay down on. he looked around once more, making sure the coast was clear, before finally laying down, surrendering to sleep...

Night barked back, returning the call that was a little closer now. Her tail swished back and forth, stirring up a fine layer of dust. She yawned again, tired for some reason.

azure eye knew that at right now, many creatures living in this forest were falling asleep because he had seen this before. the white tiger rose to his feet and began to walk to the northeast, wanting to catch himself a moose calf at least. after an hour of quietly walking, he spotted a moose calf that was wandering away from its sleeping mother. the white carnivore waited silently as the young prey came closer to him before it turned its back to him and began to feed on a bush. then, a white streak moved to the young moose and azure eye locked his jaws onto the young moose's neck, breaking it. the struggling stopped and the victim would never move again. the brown stripped carnivore dragged his kill away quickly before the mother moose cuold notice. once he arrived back in his terriotry, azure eye began to feed in his kill, starting by eating the sides.

Maka threw back his head and let out a haunting howl that filled the air, all the wolves turned their attention to him...
"Elder Darkfur has an announcment" Maka backed away as Darkfur stepped up.
"The trees tell me that a beast creeps through our territory" He growled "We must find this beast and rid of it from our land!"
