The Collector Cruiser was so massive in size that its bow stuck far above the tree canopy and into the sky, easily seen for several miles...

The Commandos had quickly donned the Blue Suns uniforms and were now silently standing guard over the slaves, as per Grievous's orders. 343 had managed to properly mimic Narom's voice, allowing him to speak more convincingly than his fellow droids. Now, all they had to do was wait for the Collectors to arrive, and spring the trap. Maybe then they could figure out what they were up to...

The skirmiashers were soon gathered by the commander saurian. Seeing the ship even from this distance, the raiding party charged out of the jungle-based capitol, ready to see who- or what- was controllnig the massive ship and what the intentions of coming here were...

The ship itself stood fast, like a gigantic monolith protruding from the jungle. It was patiently waiting for the nearby village to be picked clean by the Collectors, who had established a perimeter around the LZ...

The skirmishers charged fast and low across the jungly terrain, unaware of the danger ahead of them at the LZ. The smell of the inland sea entered all their nostrils; they knew they were getting close...

The LZ was in the jungle, with the village effectively blocking its path from the Skirmishers. They could either go around, or attempt to cut through...

Fhlr-Kahn, remembering the last time he had soldiers sent into the jungle, decided to send some reinforcements for the skirmishers. He sent another captain, this one leadign a squadron of super battle droids, intent on aiding their brethren in the event of less-then-friendly intentions...

The skirmishers slowed to a stop, seeing their position. With a gesture of his hands, the commander told his squad to rush through the mostly empty village...

The village was far from empty, but it was certainly a ghost town from the skirmisher's point of view. Dozens of Saurians were still strewn about the village square, encased in glowing stasis fields. Collectors, like a insects they resembled, were moving amongst them with silent precision, two usually teaming up to carry paralyzed Saurians away, towards large, coffin-like organic pods. They didn't seem to notice the attackers yet...

The commander watched the horror from a distance, disgust stretched across his face as he saw the strange, insectoid creatures stuff a saurian into an odd, coffin shaped device.

"By the gods..." the reptilian alien said in a horrified manner.

"What ARE those things?" one of the skirmishers hissed.

"I...I don't know," the commander replied, just as shocked as the skirmisher is. "Ready your bows!"

On the cue, the skirmishers, still upon their giant bird steeds, pulled their bows back, the strings groaning as the muscular beings pulled back.

"Aim!" The commander growled, pointing his bone sword towards the insects.

"FIRE!" As soon as the command was made, the arrows were released, and the skirmishers swapped their bows for crude lances made of Dinosaurid spines.

"CHARGE!" the commander roars, before the skirmishers rush towards the invaders. Unbeknownst to them, the invaders were more than meets the eye....

Some of the Collectors were hit by the incoming projectiles, the arrows rather easily penetrating their chitinous hides. As the aliens toppled over with gurgling howls, the rest turned and opened fire from the cover of the abandoned buildings. Their assault rifles were especially accurate at this range, but they could still do some damage. A single Collector Guardian moved to the front of the Collector squad and dropped down a hive shield, using it for its own cover, periodically popping out to burst-fire its more accurate weapon...

The assaulr rifle rounds easily tore through miinrette flesh and bone, downing many riders and sending them plummting to the cold, hard earth. Those who survived, however, continued the charge. One of the skirmishers circled around the hive shield, aiming his lance at the Collector Guardian, hoping his hieght advantage would help, while the others rushed towards the other collectors, many more getting gunned down in the process, before they dismounted and closed in on those indoors with their melee weapons...

The Guardian managed to dodge to the side, the lance clipping it in the shoulder. The Collector's Force Barrier protected it, however, and it merely fell on its back, momentarily stunned. The Collector Drones were more cautious, drawing the Saurians towards them with bursts of gunfire from the buildings...

The skirmisher took advantage of the guardian's moment of weakness, and dislodged his lance from its shoulder before thrusting it down towards its upper chest, aiming for where he preseumed its heart would be....

The Saurians were just as cautious as the collectors were being, treading lightly within the structures to avoid detection as best as possible and keeping a sharp eye and ear for the collectors. When they were spotted, they would strike with ruthless efficiency... if they got close enough, of course. One collector was a bit unfortunate, and was quickly cut down by a Saurian, but his assailant was just as quickly cut down by another Collector....

Even as the lance pierced the Collector's chest, the alien fired its rifle straight at the skirmisher's head with its dying breath...

The Collectors fell back through the buildings, quickly replaced with their Husk minions, the deformed humans glowing blue with the mechanical tubing and lights projecting from their forms. Howling in rage, the Husks charged the Saurians, not quite as strong, but far more numerous, their clawed hands easily tearing through thick Saurian scales. They did not bother setting off their EMP blasts, considering the primitiveness of the Saurians' technology...

The skirmisher was killed instantly as the rounds tore straight through his skull, the saurian collapsing to the earth in a bloodied heap as his steed bolted into the surrounding jungle with surprising haste...

The saurians fought back vigorously, bone blades and stone axes cleaving into the former humans, sending their bodily fluids splattering all over. But the saurians suffered heavy casualties from the sheer number of creatures attacking them. Many fell to the hominidss frenzied claw strikes, slaying the brave reptilian beings with complete bestial fury. Despite the numerical advantage of their foes, the saurians fought hard, their numbers dwindling to less than a dozen now....

Seeing that the Husks were handling the situation, the Collectors impassively turned away from the fight and went back to their business of collecting. Several explosive, red-glowing Abominations joined the Husk horde to support them, but otherwise, the Saurians had no more resistance...

As hard as the saurians fought, they had no chocie but to begin to fall back. Striking down those that they could as they fled, the skirmishers began to retreat into the jungle, hoping to draw their enemy into the forest and use their homeworld's excessive vegetation to their advantage...

The Super Battle Droid squadron continued its slow, monotonous march towards the village, the path essentially paved for them by the liinrettes...

Several of the Husks pursued the Saurians into the jungle, but the rest simply dispersed back into the village. One of the Collectors garbled something unintelligible, watching the Saurians retreat. A massive, crablike monstrosity floated into the air from the other end of the village and hovered towards the jungle, the Praetorian intent on making sure the Saurians didn't return...

The saurians, like gigantic geckos, scampered up the nearest trees they could find, and sheathed their melee weapons. Instead, the dozen readied their bows, watching as the husks rushed blindly into the jungle, followed by some abominable creature that reminded them of the meganoids of legend. Drawing their bows back, the saurians silently fired their bows, striking down numerous husks, before they scampered to the next tree, not only to keep up with their quarry, but also to avoid getting spotted by hanging around in one location for too long...

The saurians moved as quickly as they could, but not all of them were lucky enough to avoid falling to the ground below. Those who had fallen attempted to be as subtle as possible, limping to the nearest trees they could find. Those still in the trees immediately loosed another arrow from their bows, taking out more husks in the process...

The super battle droids heard the blasts in the distance, and began to pick up their pace, intent to fight...
