Inferno closed in on the mana trail and spotted who it was he ws following. a Red Imperial, a female, being attacked by a small military platoon. she looked weak, and had trouble trying to fight them off, blasting weak jets of fire and swiping with her claws trying to get them to stay away. he dove in, fiering a jet of flames onto one of the tanks attacking her. it melted, and then exploded as the ammo compartment became too hot. he beat his wings once, twice, three times, slowing his descent until he finally landed with a heavy quake. he roared at the attackers, which were now comprised of 15 humans, 3 jeeps and 2 more tanks. the Tank turrets turned to face him, but were melted before they could fire a shot. the humans leapt onto the jeeps until they were overloaded, and drove off as fast as they could. Inferno looked at the weakened dragon. when she turned to look at him, he froze. he knew that face.it was his mate. she had disappeared before hibernation. he thought she was dead. "Ember..." he growled, as she nearly stumbled as her weakness overwhelmed her. he lowered himself, and offered his shoulder to balance her. he used what little revival magic he knew to get her in shape to fly to his cave. "Come on, Ember. let's go". she was still tired, but managed a nod and took off, Inferno right behind her. they flew as close together as possible, Inferno gliding abover her by only about 50 feet, ready to swoop down if she dozed again. she was in terrible condition. it seemed she hadn't expected such a powerful attack. they arrived at the cave after a few minutes of flying, and landed on the ledge. Inferno helped her into the cave, and growled "Stay here. i'll get you something to eat". he then walked out, and spread his gigantic wings, and dove towards the nearest field, picking up a couple of cows before flying back towards the cave, where the tired female dragon, Ember, rested...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
