Realms of the Dragons RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Mike, a man with brown hair, a mildly plump face, ice blue eyes and two diagonal scars across one eye, down over his nose and stopping at his lips, looked over his shoulder. "Michael McGregor, former sergeant in the GDEA" said the man as he began driving. "Jacob Trevors. former private" said the blond haired, green eyed man sitting on the other side of the back seats, by the opposite door to Kyle. he was likely the tallest of the group, and as he reached a hand back to shake Kyle's a large burn scar could be seen going all the way up to his elbow. "Max Sunderland" said the third man, black haired with brown eyes, his leg held straight between the front seats, a thick layer of various coloured rags taped around his leg...

far above, the Wyvern watched, a malevolent smirk on it's face, as it veered off towards the distant ruins of an old abbey. it wasn't as sturdy as it was when it was built, but it'd serve as good shelter for it to rest. it could hunt down the humans later. night was falling, and moving around at that time was an invitation for disaster at the claws of the much larger Dragons that roamed the english countryside...they'd be forced to take cover soon...

Kyle shook Jacob's hand, trying to he respectful as he looked around. From the looks of it these guys seemed like as real as it gets, real soldiers on the front lines. Compared to them, he seemed more of a poster boy with his clean shave, short brown hair and his mostly intact green jumpsuit. He thought, realizing he was likely the only survivor of Eagle Team which left him thinking about what would happen if he ever made it out. "So..what brings you guys here in this hell hole?" Kyle asked, trying to see if he could learn more about the people he was traveling with.

"Let's go boys," John stated much to the relief to the pilots under John's command. The American pilots adjusted as they flew back in formation, escorting the chopper back towards base. AWACS pretty much confirmed a clear flight path but they werent going to risk it. The pilots moved quick...they had enough combat for one day.

"We're headin' for London...used to be part of the 7th Forward Brigade of GDEA's Scotland Hunter Corps. GDEA collapsed due to b*llsh*t politics, and we were left high and dry as every bloody monster under the bloody sun came down on us" said Mike as he drove. Jake continued for Mike, letting him focus on the road. "We used to believe we could win this....that we could kill them off...take back the planet, save the day, so on and so forth with all the hero talk. but the truth of it is...We're a dying breed. We witnessed a Dragon completely destroy Edinburgh, we've seen jets picked out of the air like pigeons to a falcon...we don't own this planet anymore....we just live on it". "We were the ones at St. David's, calling for help....but god damn it all that call did was cost mankind more lives" said Max, cringing as they went returned to the road, the rough angle of the ground to the street meaning the car jerked somewhat roughly once they hit the asphalt, moving his injured leg...

"You guys ever heard of the DDASF? I mean were heading towards their territory, they are the ones who's practically been killed dragons and secured places outside of London. Granted they arent invincible but with time I'd imagine things would turn around. Hell turns out I'm a pilot from the United States, sounds weird aint it? Turns out American forces managed to drive out dragons out of the States and a whole bunch of us were sent to England to help them out. We're prob crazy...we're fighting in battles that are thousand of miles from our home. Sometimes we wonder why we do it but then again...if we all just started caring about ourselves, then we're no different from the dragons right? Dragons dont really watch out for each other but I guess the crazy ones, the americans figure, if we started uniting, fighting together then maybe we have a chance...unless thats just my LT Commander bull s***ing me" Kyle said in response as he looked around, wondering if he would get laughed at for his opinion..these guys really were the real deal...he's an american pilot risking his life and he's barely had much combat experience. he must be crazy

"The US didn't see the big ones...they're centralised in Europe. They're the reason we have the dragon legends. Before the GDEA collapsed, I heard details on a Dragon that would best be described as the embodiment of satan himself. an enormous red dragon...bathed in flames. Some say it's the origin of the red dragon that was on the Welsh flag. it wiped out anything human it came across...wiped out the people at farms but left the animals as a future food source. whole military convoys would disappear while passing through the Central England Black Zone. the few that were close enough for us to investigate were found as pools of still-molten metal, or buried underground. the DDASF may be really damn good at what they do...but being that good gets you unwanted attention. these Dragons aren't stupid. it'll only be a matter of time before they identify bases and group up to wipe them out" said Jake...

"Right...well London is as safe as you can get on Europe but dragons grouping up? I mean that doesnt seem likely..hell we've been lucky to watch some of them kill each other at times" Kyle stated. He wasnt that combat expirenced but he saw enough to give him some credibility. The way Jake talked about the dragon situation made him doubt everything he was told. He knew things were bad but it seemed like things always got worse...

"These things....they're not simple animals. We're talkin' about breeds of creatures that have far surpassed the intelligence of normal animals. You were up there...with that...thing. Did ya notice the communications started actin' up?" said Jake. "Stop i' Jake, yer scarin' the lad" said Mike as he drove, steering off the main road and towards what looked like a town in the distance...

"Jeez.." Kyle scratched his head again remembering his previous experience. He thought long and deep...when even the veterans themselves start doubting their chances, how do they tell the young rooks like himself. He swallowed as continued to think what he had heard as he looked up and noticed the town. "We stopping?" Kyle asked in curiosity.

"it's gettin' dark. the Central England Black Zone isn't too far from here. I say we better get into cover before we lose the advantage of daylight" explained Mike. "Agreed. I was down here on holiday as a kid, before the Dragons turned up. I think there's a village nearby. we could check for any leftover supplies and camp out for the night" answered Max...

the vehicle soon slowed, steering into a parking spot in front of an old inn. it was the oldest building in the village, and the most sturdy, made of stone, and about two floors high. The Ruddy Duck was the name of the Inn, a large wooden sign overhanging the doorway depicting a brown duck with it's head dunked in a wooden beer mug. "Welcome to the Ruddy Duck, boys" said Max as Mike turned off the engine and got out of the vehicle, Jake climbing out and helping Max out. Mike moved to the back of the vehicle, grabbing a bottle of water and a couple of tins of fruit, closing the boot of the range rover and walking towards the door, putting the tins and bottle in pockets of his jacket as he aimed forward with his M4, bumping the doorway open and scanning the insides. the place was silent. not even so much as a corpse. the town had evacuated hastily early on, and most were likely currently living in London. a crunch underfoot nearly made Mike jump, checking what he stepped on. the skeleton of a long dead rat. "Bloody rodents" grumbled Mike as he continued forward, Jake following close behind, helping Max along, Jake holding his M4 in one hand, strapped around his shoulder....

Kyle slowly followed them as he looked around. "Yikes..." Kyle said lowly. He was slightly creeped out about the place, this wasnt his type of thing. He was a pilot and as far as he was concerned american pilots usually didnt have to concern themselves about the environment unlike how the regular soldiers did. While soldiers were on the front lines, pilots returned to some airfield away from the battle ground and the conditions at the air base were always much better then your casual front line soldiers. Pilots were expected to die in their craft then somehow eject and survive on their own...well that was what was expected in dragon situations. Kyle then eyed what he had on his jumpsuit, all he had was a pen and a small notebook he always carried around with him. Anything else he could have gotten was destroyed

"Hey Kyle. catch" came Jake's voice, the man tossing a Beretta to the pilot, helping Max over to a bench and sitting him down on it. "You go with Mike. i'll keep an eye on the entrance and stairs with Max..make sure nothing tries to sneak up on you" said Jake. Mike was already heading towards the corridor, reaching the first door, nudging it open, moving inside, freezing to listen in on his surroundings...

"Right..uh thanks" Kyle said as he caught the weapon and examined it, slightly relieved now that he had a weapon. He then shook his head as he proceeded to head towards having quickened his pace towards Mike, following him down the corridor and slowed his pace as Mike worked his way through the door. The pilot tightened his grip on the weapon as he looked around, slowly following as well as listening to anything that was out of the ordinary..

A grey-black cloud, in the vague shape of a dragon, swiftly moved through the air, flying low over the rocky, barren ground. Morgoth took up a solid form, seemingly materializing and solidifying, to save energy. In this form, he could be seen bleeding from the neck, where the humans had tried to shoot him, after ambushing him in his refuge. He slowed, curving upward and coming to a perch at the top of a large volcano, allowing himself to rest for a moment...

The lava in the top of the volcano began to bubble, and a massive dragon soon emerged, only his head, wings, and forearms appearing. Deathwyrm yawned his monstrous jaws and looked upward at the intruder. Another dragon. Interesting...

Morgoth looked down at the dragon that had just risen out of the magma, tensing slightly. He had not realized that this was another dragon's territory.
He said nothing, but stretched his regal wings out to the sides, letting the other dragon have the first word, ready to leave if need be. He wasn't in the mood for a fight, as it was, and had just fled from one...

"What do you think you're doing, whelp?" Deathwyrm snarled at the newcomer, steam blowing from his nostrils and mouth...

"Fleeing," the dragon sighed in response, blood still flowing freely from his open wound, turning a dark, mucky color as it hit the magma below...

"Rrrgh..." Morgoth growled in dissent, shifting slightly. "Human scum. They ambushed me, in my sleep..."

Deathwyrm narrowed his yellow eyes. "Humans?" He glared up at the dragon. "If you dared lead them here, I will make sure you don't leave alive!"
