Nick turned the corner as well, nearly slipping from overturning and stumbling forward before he regained his momentum and charged down the alley after Vergil...

with an angered roar Nemesis powered past the sharp turn, the swinging fist that would otherwise have shattered Nick's entire upper body instead hitting a rubbish bin, crushing the metal container easily, leaving it all but unrecognisable. snarling, the beast turned around, entering the alley, only to see the two far ahead, turning around another corner...

"Whatever you do, DON'T try and outrun it. it's too fast" warned Vergil as he ran, not chancing the risk of stopping to see if it was still after them....after the mall incident he knew that it definately was...

"Isn't that what we're doing right now?!" Nick shouted angrily, trying his best to keep up with Vergil...

"Losing and outrunning are two different things" answered Vergil as he ran. "We cant outrun it, but maybe with enough sharp turns we can lose it" he added, before suddenly turning right, running down another narrow side alley, Nemesis' thumping footsteps drawing nearer to Nick...

Cursing under his breath, Nick turns the corner after Vergil, trying to ignore the loud footsteps of Nemesis...

ahead of them, the remains of a saw horse could be seen, the police barrier blocking the alley's way to the street, though another left turn meant a chance to confuse the beast. he turned the corner, seeing a weakened metal door shuddering in front of him. there was undoubtedly a zombie or two behind it. Perfect thought Vergil as he ran, drawing his handgun, the Nemesis' thudding footsteps audible, but still not around the last corner, let alone the turn into the path he was going now...with some luck, he could lose the monster...

Nick turned the corner as well and continued running behind Vergil, panting, "Oh great... more... zombies..."

Vergil turned as soon as Nick had passed, drawing the silenced handgun and firing at the door, the handle breaking and finally crippling the lock, the door being knocked open as he ran off again, Nick in tow, as the narrow passageway flooded with zombies trapped in there earlier...

as the Nemesis reached the fork in the path, he glanced at the saw horse, then at the zombies. scents weren't so specific that you could easily identify which way to go here, and with the smell of death from the corpses that were stumbling in the side alley, it was nearly impossible to identify where they went. however, with that many zombies, the humans couldn't've got past without serious injury. snarling, the beast walked towards the saw horse, swinging a massive arm into it, shattering it, and continuing the hunt for the humans....

Nick looked over his shoulder, a surprised look on his face as he ran. "I... I think we lost it!"

Crawling on the side of a building, the Licker was hunting for food. It moved slowly and quietly, stopping regularly to listen for sounds indicating potential prey and to scent the air. It didn't expect to come across any humans, but eating another zombie was better than starving to death...

"I hope you know what you're doing!" Charles said, already bursting back into a run, trying to clear the distance between them and the shed as fast as possible. At least in there, they wouldn't be nearly as exposed...he just hoped nothing was waiting for them there.

Alec slammed his hands onto the knob of the dark green, metal door. With a straining squeak, it turned and the door swung open, revealing darkness. It was possible some other survivors stayed here and kept it unlocked for others. Alec felt around for a light switch, his other hand on his gun just incase. His fingers felt the bump on the wall. They flipped a switch. A light in the center of the fairly large shed flickered on, shedding a somewhat yellowish light. In the shed, there was racks of tools and recreational equiptment. All were dusty. These things werent used for a while...

Charles, immediately grabbing a folded metal chair, unfolded the chair and jammed it under the doorknob, knowing full well that the zombies would likely just bash the door down...but it was better then nothing. Satisfied at least for now, he turned and looked at the assortment of tools, trying to spy anything that might be useful...

"You check the tools and Ill check...the play things" Alec said. He knew jump rope would be useful, maybe a hose, both could be used to tie things, or fasten something down...

Charles lifted up a pair of hedge clippers, inspecting them. Rusty though they were, they could be used as both a weapon and a tool. Laying them aside for later use, he began looking at the other tools: A metal hammer, a few nails, a small saw...all could be useful in a variety of ways. It would be best if they took as many as they could, so long as it didn't slow them down too much...

Alec moved a few hula hoops aside, trying as best as he could to not make noise. There were a few basket balls in the corner and some baseball bats, which were plastic so they wouldnt do much against the undead. Suddenly, his eyes fell onto a hopeful sight. A roll of duck tape, pretty big, laying on the shelf. "Sweeeet!" Alec said, taking the silver tape. He swung his book bag around and opened it, putting the invaluable asset into it. It was strange how even the smallest things could raise the spirits in these dark days...

"So far, I'm doing good." he thought as he stuck his head out the around the corner of a building, his eyes seeking any sign that a zombie or another creature was nearby, his ears listening for the sounds that might indicate a threat was neabry and his handgun at the ready. Robert had frequently been sticking to the buildings, moving once every two days to keep himself from being found. When it came to finding a place to sleep at night, he made sure never to sleep in a room with a closet in case some abamination might be lurking in it. Now was the time for him to find a new place to stay temporarily and so far, he had been making progress without anything trying to eat him. There was a post office across from where he was and thought it wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep, it would do for now...

Vergil simply brought a finger to his lips, a 'be quiet' gesture. the last thing they wanted was the monster to hear them and come charging after them. he proceeded into a back door near the end of the alley, following a mental map. he should be reaching one edge of the mall by this point. the chaos in there earlier meant more vicious beasts were likely to be collecting there in search of prey. he wondered if Renfield had escaped with his life...considering his dangerous habit of trying to outwit creatures as they were almost upon him, Vergil doubted it...
but then he'd have to have been doing something right to have survived for a whole year...

Nemesis snarled. after extensive searching and eventually losing the scent, he stopped, irritated at losing valuable prey. live food was getting harder to come by lately, and zombies weren't capable of providing as much nutrients per kilogram of flesh. there wasn't enough truly live tissue in them, so he had to kill and eat several to satisfy him...growling irritably, the beast began searching for a satisfactory meal....a more intact or otherwise large undead beast to feed him...

Taking a final glance around and seeing no Zombies in sight, Robert made his way toward the post office. He moved at a brisk walk, reducing the amount of noise he made so that would be both harder to hear and he would be able to hear any approaching abominaton more easily. A few minutes later, he reached the building and opened the door quietly, slipping inside...

Nick simply followed Vergil, keeping his pistol in hand, just in case...
