Movie Scores

Postby SuperNerd » Sat Feb 28, 2009 8:27 pm

I think movie scores are very important to films. They help you feel suspense, terror, happiness, or sad. Now regular music is fine in movies its just that i prefer movie themes. composers such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Jack Horner, and Brad Fiedel make movies special. Who agrees with me?

Yeah, i agree... scientists have actually found ways to mess with your emotions, and to an extent, control them completely by placing an image and the right music in your mind... my favorites are John Williams (duh), John Barry, Ennio Morricone, Steve Jablonsky, and Klaus Badelt/Hans Zimmer were perfect for POTC and Batman Begins (Zimmer and James Newton Howard did the Batman stuff)

Yeah the theme from Alien is great. One of my personal favorites is the Raiders March theme form Raiders of the lost Ark. One of John williams best. :)

I believe that scores can bring out the emotion or the intensity of the movie, and are an important part of what makes a movie good. I like scores of all three Lord of the Rings films, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the scores by Danny Elfman are good.
