My apologies to anyone who was wondering about the silence and my absence over the past couple of days. Sickness has a way of making anything other than lying in your bed coughing your lungs out and wondering whether it's dawn or dusk and whether the ceiling is above or below you rather impossible.
IK, If you go for Goldbeard armour and find that the electric attacks are annoying, it's easy to gem that away. [Combined with a canteen thunder resistance/Thundercaller meal, I manage to get 20 water and 23 thunder resistance. Basically, I am invulnerable to anything but the raw damage of thunder attacks. No thunderblight.]
In fact, if you have a talisman that gives you Sharpness without a negative Handicraft value, it can turn Goldbeard armour into one of the most formidable sets in the game. High Grade Earplugs, making you immune to roars, sharpness +1, meaning your blade is one sharpness level over what it should be, water attack +1 making your water weapons even more destructive, and the space to add one more ability of your choice through gemming [I usually alternate between tremor resistance on land and electricity resistance when in the water]. All in all, a very, very effective set.
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
