No, I've always got it. I just wanted you to stop hating on religion.

Even if there was a God, it definitely wouldn't be as described in the Bible.
As such, the idea of an afterlife is pretty tacky as well, so I'm not sure resurrecting the dead would do.

The afterlife, from what people who were mostly dead and got out of it said, is basically being in limbo.

I don't hate religion I just think it's dangerous. I respect peoples religious beliefs. I hate it when other force there beliefs onto others, like what the Christians did during the inquisition. Religion has made people do horrible things such as the Holocaust, The Crusades, suicide bombings in the middle east and religious wars going on today. That is just a small list of things that people have done in the name of religion

Christianity isn't the sole cause, you know. Muslims did it first in the early middle ages after rome fell, and rome before that, and macedonia before THAT.........

I don't really buy into those tbh. Anecdotal evidence doesn't count for much in cases like these.

Also, he didn't say Christianity, he said religion.

@ EE: Oops, that's why I gotta not skim.

@ LV: While religion can be a deadly tool, it's often just an excuse for people to justify why they went over and slaughtered a few hundred thousand people. It's not the REAL issue most of the time.

Anyways, I just derailed the thread, so I'd say it's time to get back on topic.

Holocaust and the Inquisition. Hitlers father was extremely religious and pounded the idea into his young mind that the Jews were the agents of Satan, when he ordered the Jews killed he thought he was doing gods will and that he was purifying the German people. The inquisition was all about converting Jews to Catholicism by force. The troubles in the middle east are mostly caused by both ethnicity and religious differences

Last I checked, this topic is Evolution VS Creationism, not "Is Religion Evil", so everyone needs to get back on topic.

One last response to what LV said; it's not religion that's dangerous or the problem, much of the time. It's the people that misinterpret it, try to force it on others, or just generally take it to extremes.
